Central Public House
Favorite area restaurant. Consistent quality and preparation, interesting dishes with nice flavor combinations as well as more straight forward dishes. Friendly, efficient staff and nice ambiance. Like that they are on Open Table too!
Tonight, new menu but I took advantage of the Mediterranean Chicken that they held over, since I love this dish. New scallop dish was enjoyed by my table mate. The goat cheese salad was also excellent.
Always great craft beer list. Cats Meow from Exhibit A was back... love this beer. New waiter, Kevin, was great... very attentive and aimed to please.
We stopped in Saturday night with some friends and had a great time! The food was excellent and the ambiance was perfect for a date night away from the kids. They were accommodating with my dairy allergy. We will definitely go back!
First time- for mother’s day
The menu was limited for a 1:45pm meal.
The bananas foster French toast was over the top!
The madame croque ? Was okay. Ham and Swiss melted on brioche with fried egg. Side of potatoes.
The burger was over cooked and crispy- 😕
The turkey club was very good with fresh turkey and the frites (very thin sliced potato fried- delicious)
They had some good cocktails that we will come back for along with a regular menu. Good craft beer selection as well.
Beautiful inside- rustic contemporary. It has an outdoor seating area to be tried when the weather turns nice.... one day!
Excellent food and service. 22 seat bar and great beer selection.
Wanted a nice place for mothers days . What a gem of place we found . We sat outside on the patio and don’t remember how Rest of the three hours went 😀. Will be back soon !
Outside patio is open which adds a nice option. Staff very professional and attentive .
Food is always good. The service was poor this time since the waitress was managing too many tables and was not very energetic. We needed to ask the host to get the waitress for drink renewal or even silverware.
Another excellent meal here. We enjoyed the Chopped Salad, Salmon, the Greek Chicken... all great. Nice craft brew list... we had the Ritual Colors and the Harvest Honey. Great service, as usual, from Kristina!
Overall good experience, however, entrees were brought to table before appetizers were finished.
As a result apps plates were left on table thus crowding the table and a reminder that perhaps the $30 for two appetizers was wasted.
The couple at the next table both ordered soup and had the same poor timing problem.
Expertly preparer gimlet and Manhattan. Would return for the cocktails alone. I had the sole - it was light and flavorful; my wife had the bouillabaisse which boasted plenty of shellfish and seafood, but the broth was a tomatoey Campbell’s like soup. Let’s just say - I’ve had much better. Atmosphere is energetic and upscale, but it can get noisy in there. Probably not the place to go for a quiet romantic dinner. This is the second time we’ve dined here and there will be a third, but the chef has to up his/her game on the bouillabaisse.
This was our first time going to this restaurant. I ordered the special - shrimp gumbo. Probably not the right choice, but all of the other meals coming out of the kitchen looked great ( we were seated close to that area). Will definitely be going back. The bar looked awesome and the ambiance is very nice.
Way too loud!!! The acoustics really need to be improved. The food and drinks were very good though!
The food and environment are incredible. I will be back again and again.
Bar staff is the best !!!! 👍
We had heard how nice Central Public House and we were not disappointed.
The restaurant was very clean, comfortable, and friendly. Food was awesome and the staff was very friendly. Would, and have already recommended the restaurant.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends. Did not feel rushed. Good food, good drinks. Great waitress, Lauren!
Another enjoyable meal here. Shared a flatbread pizza to start, followed by The Burger, Salmon, and Chopped Salad. Excellent craft beer selection, fine service.
Went for the fish tacos which are great.
I had the Carbonara spaghetti (marathon special) and it was as good as what I get in Rome.
Went for lunch on a Friday. Food is bang average and overpriced. As far as I can tell, its primary draw is the convenience for locals.
We frequent this restaurant often. The food is always good. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
Best restaurant in the area.
My second time here. First time was very good. This time was only mediocre. We ordered Patti melts. Mine medium my friend medium well. When delivered they were exactly the same and quite pink inside. This was fine for me but not for my friend. It was virtually empty but we were not asked if our beverages could be refilled. The prices here are very high for the quality of the food. They would probably do better in the long run if the prices were lowered. It will be awhile before I'll return
Was just here a few days ago, but was in the area so figured, why not? Tried the new Greek Chicken and my wife has the Fish Tacos... both excellent. Some Craft beers and we were all set. So good!
I like that the Chef changes a few items on the menu pretty frequently . This keeps the menu more interesting
Packed on a Friday night, this place has developed a following with town folk, for good reason... nice atmosphere, fine chow and libation, friendly and efficient service.
Tonight, we shared a pizza to start, onion soup, Chopped Salad (mixed baby greens, diced Roma tomato, English cucumbers, green apples, grilled corn, mango, feta cheese, white balsamic vinaigrette) and the excellent Burger.
Craft beers tonight... all excellent. Our server, Christina, was fantastic!
Visited venue for my sons 29th birthday. Excellent food. Well worth the price $120. Portions were good size and all items were prepared perfectly. Server Kaylee was extremely attentive. She adds great value to the establishment.
A great addition to Hopkinton and to the Metrowest area.
Will definitely visit again.
Great place but way overpriced! Our waitress was very attentive.
This was our third visit and we brought two other people. The menu has not changed and there are specials only at the weekends. Two of us asked for no added salt but everyone’s meal had no added salt. So the meals were bland. The noise level grew as the restaurant filled and the music was too loud. Probably won’t go back.
Five stars! I had just heard about it the restaurant on Saturday and was able get a reservation for 2 for that evening. Showed up early planning to get a drink at the bar and the hostesses were very welcoming and offered us seating at that time. We sat in the bar side (tall top tables) as we wanted views of the TVs for the games, minimal noise for bar side considering all tables and bar stools were occupied. The atmosphere has a modern rustic industrial feel, with appealing plant features on the walls of the dining room area. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and offered additional info regarding the specials. The scallop appetizer was the perfect portion and tasted very fresh. I enjoyed a halibut special with an excellent lemon risotto, and my husband had the short rib, which was full of flavor. We shared the dessert special, a chocolate mint bread pudding, with vanilla gelato on top! I’ve never had anything quite like it, tasted similar to a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie, yum!! The wine list had lots of varietal offerings, and the beer list included several great local New England breweries both on tap and in bottles/can. I look forward to dining there again soon!!
Great place, good food. Good addition to Hopkinton. Definitely will be back.
Major problem initially is that there is no signage of where to park except two small very confusing signs in drug store parking lot! Had to drive around to find lot which was almost filled with cars and unplowed spots
Also servers need not bring entrees when people are still eating salads
I love the modern, open feel of this restaurant. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable. The meals came out with the perfect timing in between courses. We had the appetizer special which was large bay scallops with a vanilla bourbon sauce - it was spectacular! My husbands short ribs were fall part tender and the steak on my Caesar salad was cooked perfectly. They also have some great cocktails! Overall A+ dining experience.
We love coming here! Food is always good and they change the menu regularly. Staff is awesome.
Amazing food!! So grateful to finally have a new restaurant to go to in area!!
This was a last minute decision because we were in the mood for the Central Public House’s fantastic Fish Tacos with Papaya salsa. Crisp fish, avocado purée, and a Papaya salsa - simply the best fish taco we have ever had. While it is listed as an appetizer it is a filling meal and should either be order to share with two others or have it a a main course. Because it was my wife’s birthday we shared a Key Lime pie that was right on with tart/sweet taste. Not quite Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami but a lot closer. We continue to treat this a a favorite.
Loved the food - every bite was amazing!
Great ambiance and excellent food but our service was quite slow. Granted this could be different every time we go.
The atmosphere is cold and industrial.
The menu is very very limited
The prices are TOO high - ridiculous!
Came out hungry and OVERPRICED
Never will go back!
The food was very average. The salad was small and underwhelming. Very disappointed.
I like the ambiance and decor. We were there on a Sunday late afternoon and it was quiet but we’ve been there on a Saturday and it’s mayhem...too loud and too crowded by the bar. Good for the restaurant but not great for most customers. The food is just ok. Cooked well but basically not seasoned enough. The menu is limited. The beer choice is great, a lot of local stuff. We will try again because it’s so close to home but it’s not yet my favorite place.
Quickly becoming one of our go to restaurants. Great quality and see. A welcome addition to Hopkinton
