Central Michel Richard
Overall it was fairly good. The waiter got us to order cheese puffs that we did not need as my wife was not ordering appetizers so she could have desert. The coffee was not served hot and one cup was dirty. However, the waiter and the overall staff were working very hard and fast to make sure each customer was taken care of. Will come back and give it another try.
Very solid and conveniently located hear the mall. Great food quality. Noise level and seating is a bit cramped.
Central is a great restaurant we love to visit every time we come to DC. Food is delicious, especially the fried chicken. Loved the chocolate bar dessert too.
My daughter and family were in town. Missing bacon on the hamburger. I thought the fried chicken was just okay. The goat cheese Cesar salad was delicious. cream brûlée was great too.
Always delicious with exemplary service. My “go to” place when I want to impress a guest or share a great experience with friends.
Menu changed since last visit. Lots of new and interesting choices. Best chicken sandwich ever!
The restaurant was quiet yet our food came out cold. Disappointed
Food was to-die-for!!
Nice food but rather noisy and difficult to carry on a conversation, especially at tables near the kitchen.
This was my second time at Central. My first experience was quite wonderful. My second time, however, was completely different. The server was negligent and cold, and the food was unseasoned and overall unspectacular. The only positive was that the manager arrived at our table just in time to hear our concerns and attend to the same.
Great service and very tasty food. Our waiter was extremely helpful and showed patience with our group's questions and hesitation. Perfect place for Sunday brunch
This was our 5th time coming here for Brunch. We enjoy the bottomless alcoholic drink option. The food is always delicious and we always take our friends here. We did not enjoy the cheese though, and neither did the tables next to us.
Great Meal but the night was off - can't be sure as to why...table placement, noise, confused service. Plus you don't stock Absoute Elix anymore!
Love the food. Goat cheese salad fabulous. Mashed potatoes best
Loved seeing the hostess. Great service, amazing fried chicken, excellent chocolate bar. Staff and service keeps you coming back!
Amazing meal, great service will definitely be back. We were there for my sons birthday and the celebration cake was awesome. We have been there before and everything is so good.
Good as always.
Sea Bass was very salty and just ok. Not much bread at the table. All and all was fair to good. I will not return for some time because there are so many other choices.
We sat outside on a beautiful DC and everything was amazing!
The brunch special was a great experience. Every course was delicious and a great portion size. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch. The cappuccino I had was also delicious. I would definitely go back! Highly recommend.
I have been to Central Michel Richard many times. This time I was disappointed. The menu seems to have been truncated. My favorite dish at the restaurant, frisee aux lardons, was no longer on the menu. There was nothing really creative on the menu and no specials worth considering. One thing has not changed - it is still too noisy.
Central Michel Richard is one of the highlights of our vacation. We went for an early dinner at 5 pm and were seated right away, then when we ordered and got our bread our food was out before we could even finish the bread! Michel's Fried Chicken was delicious! Absolutely planning to come here again next time we're in DC!
First visit--won't be our last! Everything was wonderful. My wife got a glass of Copain chardonnay and I a glass of Spellbound cabernet--both were excellent. My wife got the pre-theater menu--we shared her salad (which they thankfully split for us in the kitchen) --and the salmon. I got the shrimp and scallops over black rice. We both thought that both our entrees were excellent. The bread was fabulous--among the best we've had at restaurants. We asked for olive oil for dipping the bread and they brought a wonderful one. Finally, we took home my wife's dessert choice--a raspberry tart that we greatly enjoyed later. Service and advice from the waiter was just right, and a manager even cruised by to check on everything. We definitely will return.
We both Had the 3 course lunch special and it was delicious and a great value. Definitely will be back for lunch again.
We always enjoy our visits to Central - great, attentive staff, and the food never disappoints...
My only disappointment was that the note I entered when making the reservation, that this was a birthday celebration, seemed to be ignored. I take my friend to Central every year for her birthday as it is one of her favorites and have made this note on my reservation each time. Generally, her dessert comes out with a nice "happy birthday" made of chocolate without having to say anything when we arrive at the restaurant. That didn't happen this year. 😞
Fab delicious brunch at Michel Richard Central. They made a tasty experience for me ( who is lactose intolerant) and my brunch friends. Lovely shaded outside dining, duck fat French fries and amazing desserts. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend.
Even though we were seated at the VIP section, it was a very small place and very noisy with tables very close to one another. The waiter was rude and food was not that great this time. I have been to this rest at least on 5-7 different occasions. It was a disappointing evening.
You can count on great food at Central. Everything the 4 of us had was excellent. And don't forget the bread! Best in the city. But so is the fried chicken and the Poke and the beef tartare and and and....you can't go wrong!
We ate on the patio which was pleasant. The service was attentive and the food was served quickly (we didn't mind as we had a hungry nine year old. The gougeres were tasty as a starter. The Shrimp and Scallop with lobster sauce was fine, but the Saffron Bouillabaisse, had too much zucchini, an odd vegetable for the dish. We had a side of green beans that had a little too much onion. We tried three desserts. All were tasty, but the Napolean was ridiculously huge! If you are in the neighborhood it is a good option for pre-theatre dining.
Visiting DC from Dallas, we tried Central MIchel Richard for a Friday night dinner. We tried the cheese puffs, fried chicken, haricot vert, Salmon and French fries. The portions are large and while everything was good, we were underwhelmed. The fried chicken was golden and crunchy but lacked in flavor. The same for the french fries and cheese puffs. Although we had an 8:15 pm reservation, the restaurant was almost empty but we felt rushed through dinner. The atmosphere is more cafeteria than bistro. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and the service was almost too fast. Everything came at once because the cheese puffs, which should have been a starter, were an afterthought. Our fault. It just was not the dining experience we were hoping for.
Everything was fabulous as always. Service was great and food
The food at Central is very good no matter what you choose, the service is friendly and the location works well.
Have been to Central many times and have never been disappointed - on this visit we were given an excellent table (2 top) and the service and food were excellent - the Shrimp Burger is to die for!!!
Bad service and food was underwhelming, borderline just bad. We all agreed we would never go back.
The fried chicken is phenomenal. That alone is worth the trip. The cocktails are also remarkably tasty and well constructed; the different components complement each other and meld into one delicious drink. I could see this as a destination for the cocktails alone.
I thought the chocolate bar for dessert was just OK. It basically tasted like a candy bar, and the accompanying ice cream was kind of flavorless.
Service was good. The manager checked in with us twice. The only oddity was that our entrees came out about two minutes after our appetizer, which felt like we were being rushed.
We always love going to Central when we go to DC!! It is the perfect dining experience. We both got the lunch special. I loved the chopped salad and my husband swooned over his gazpacho. He's looking for a recipe to try and make it at home. His salmon was perfection and my black rice dish was as delicious as it was beautiful. We both had the ice cream sundae dessert and it topped the meal off perfectly. We really love Central!
Great place for good honest food. Family friendly for brunch/lunch celebrations.
For the price point, I expected better. Expensive meal but people in t-shirts and shorts. TV playing sports and not very romantic lighting or inspiring surroundings. Need to up their ambiance game.
Great Food, Great service and great help with an off list wine selections. Portions were large and everything was prepared t perfection. If you don't try the French style fried chicken you are missing out.
