We had a lovely birthday dinner at Central Michel Richard! The service was amazing, I felt like someone was always coming by to refill water or check to make sure we were doing okay. I would highly recommend this for a special occasion.
Delicious meal!! The fried chicken is worth the wait. I would frequent again.
Its billed as French but the menu was mostly American. Sort of like going to Jacksons or Sweet Water Tavern. Food was ok but a bit overpriced for the quality. Chocolate bar was exceptional. I had to ask for bread which I should not have to. Wine quality was very good value.
Our waitress was not to be seen which is unusual for Central but maybe they were too busy because of restaurant week. Food was amazing as always.
I went to Central before a Caps game. This restaurant is a bit out of the way from Capital one arena but worth the walk. My friend had steak tartar and really enjoyed it.
I had the chicken schnitzel and it was also very good. The salad that came with it needed dressing. The greens beans were cooked to perfection.
I'm old fashioned but I still think they should serve bread. That why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 and the fact that they either forgot to dress the salad or did not put enough dressing on the salad
I liked the open kitchen so you could see the Chefs work.
Average- was expecting more from a former James beard-awarded chef
another great meal. restaurant week menu well worth it.
Welcomed at door. Very friendly and pleasant. Excellent food and service.
Service was very good however the people sitting next us were very very loud and the food was too salty. otherwise ok.
Always heard good things but hadn’t been until restaurant week - we’ll def return. Great food abs drinks!!
Flawless every step of way from Annie checking our vax details & ID to attentive service by Jed and greetings from Isabelle DuBois the General Manager. The restaurant week lunch (fried chicken for me & salmon for another) were excellent and nice portions. We ran long as it was business but the feel was relaxed and set a great tone. I’d like to return with my spouse for dinner!!
Excellent lunch. Enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu. Michel’s fried chicken remains the best. Outstanding service!
consistently excellent food and service
haven't been in a few years. Their old standbys are still great. LOVE the tuna burger.
After delivering our cocktails, Isabel comped us to croqettes--deelish!
Will be sure to get back soon.
great food. happy that they check vaccine status
Overall it was a great experience. The server wasn’t to sure about some of the choices so I had to rely on descriptions and wish for the best.
I love central, the food, the atmosphere, the fact that they were the first to require vaccination proof and the mashed potatoes are worth the calories. The best potatoes anywhere. The chocolate bar is Devine.Been going for years. ,
Central continues to deliver a solid experience every time. The service especially is always excellent.
Outstanding service! Great food. Isabella is without equal. We will be back.
Excellent food and service! I will be back again!
The most delicious meal we have had in a long time!
Great food and excellent service. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent service - prompt and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! A perfect spot for a quiet dinner for me and my husband.
Very strong middle of the road restaurant. Nice in-between if you’re not trying to go all out formal but still want something classy and better than a chain
Fabulous food and service
The food was amazing but I was very disappointed with the service. The first person to come to our table asked if anyone had helped us yet (no). He too out drink order. Some one else brought the drinks and then a third person came to ask if we were ready to order. My boyfriend had to ask her if there were any specials.
Considering the restaurant called me twice to make sure I was still coming, I expected more. At the table
there was no “Welcome … let me tell you about….
If it wasn’t empty, I would have thought they were rushing us. We booked an early table on purpose. I was excited to finally eat at this restaurant and New Year’s Eve made it a great occasion. Again, the food was amazing - we had cheese puffs. Fried chicken. Flank Steak and two desserts, drinks and a great bottle of wine. The service, however, was terrible.
Best service and best food! Wonderful experience for our family
Mediocre in every way. Wouldn’t go again In A town with such good restaurants. Can’t even remember what I ate.
The food is always excellent and the staff is friendly.
One of the best restaurants in DC
Excellent everyday, all day. Terrific staff, outstanding chef.
Lyonnaise salad and fried chicken are musts!
Sip good ai came back next day!
I hadn't been to this restaurant in nearly 10 years and was excited to return. The menu really hadn't changed in all that time, and while it was all fine, there was nothing impressive - especially when compared to so many new restaurants in DC. The odd thing that stood out is that the server was completely unhospitable. It was a running joke at our table that he didn't like us before he even met us. He had no warmth and we certainly would have ordered more food if he was at all engaging. Given all the other options that now exist in DC, this is not a spot I would return to.
Very disappointed, the worst Christmas dinner in years, the food we chose was simple and therein lies the risk, because it must be perfect, flavorless onion soup or a lot of bread, cold meat and flavorless sauce and very diluted, mussels with exaggerated smoked flavor, in short, total disappointment, in general soda without flavor, the only thing to rescue the desserts and the waiter's attention
Great Christmas Eve dinner with family.
Very festive and the food was excellent as usual!
With a smaller menu the food was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary
Went for Christmas Eve. This most incredible meal and experience!!! All perfect!! Food was off the charts!!! We were so impressed. Server was outstanding!!! We had the special capon amongst many other items. We were blown away!!!!
Our dining experience was immaculate and was a great experience from begin until the end.
The restaurant is beautiful, hostess was very pleasant, our server provided excellent service and our food was amazing.
Thanks to All and looking forward to our next visit.
Would have liked a few more Holiday decorations, and the lighting could be a bit dimmer. Other than that, a great place.
We love dining at Central. The food is always delicious and there are always pleasant surprises on the menu. I think I have tried every appetizer and after having the appetizer thought, "I could have this as my meal". There is a good selection of entrees and the spaghetti Bolognese and fried chicken are the the best! Isabelle DuBois, the general manager, is congenial, fun and clearly a perfectionist! I love her wine recommendations and it is amazing to see the way she interacts with every guest.
