Still my favorite restaurant. Had my usual amazing time. It is so great to be back in a familiar place with good friends and a restaurant with exceptional service and delicious food!
I remember eating here almost weekly, never disappointed. Today was definitely a disappointment.
As always excellent service. The food is consistent and delicious. This is one of the best restaurants in Washington for every day business dining.
Ok I love the staff and they are so nice but this was the slowest service ever. I get it’s still covid ish but things are picking up. These wait staff need help. I can’t imagine how exhausted they were. We had a love time talking but the meal took a really long time
Central is one of the places we feel comfortable eating outdoors - tables are distanced appropriately and the staff is on top of things, always. A beautiful day in DC should include lunch here.
Absolutely wonderful Easter brunch! The food, ambiance and most of all, incredible service created an absolutely marvelous experience!
Thank you, Central!
Our food was delicious, and the experience would not have been half as enjoyable without the fantastic Boris!
The food was absolutely delicious! I had the beef bourguignon and it was the best I’ve ever had (photo attached) – prepared perfectly. The French onion soup and fried chicken were also big hits at our table. Overall, the food deserves a 5+ rating!
Although this restaurant has the potential to earn Michelin level recognition, the service end has a long way to go! Quite frankly, it was chaos from the moment we walked in the door for our reservation. Everyone seemed on edge, nothing was smooth and the communication was not great. The bar menu was limited and there was a major disconnect with the server and bartender – our mixed drinks were not made correctly and the beer options were pretty limited.
I’d love to return for the food but fear the service.
I’m sorry to say they have not survived the pandemic in good shape. It seems like they are about to close. For example, the menu said “ask to see the wine list,” and when we asked, they said it was not available. They hadn’t done inventory. Trout was not good. At all. They were advertising an Easter Special for $80 per person. It seems like they have given up.
Food was good but the outdoor patio didn’t have heaters so it was a bit chilly.
As good as always. We've been eating here for years, but put a pause on eating out during Covid. Thought we'd venture out ("quarantine fatigue") and head back to one of our favorites. It was a treat! Thanks to Isabelle for making it a very special experience.
Amazing! The service and the food were both impeccable! Made for an absolutely wonderful birthday lunch.
Great staff and fabulous food. We loved the gougeres and the onion soup.
Still the best fried chicken..still thr best at frying anything..still the best at being high end without being stuffy..still the best chocolate bar and dessert in the country
Love Central. This weekend we ate outside and it felt safe and downright normal. The staff is attentive and the food just yummy. There is just something very comforting about going to Central which is perfect as we start stepping out from this awful year.
Due to Covid and life in general, it had been some time since we visited Central. Always a good choice and a straight shot down 11th - an easy walk. I could only make a reservation for indoors but when we arrived the maitre'd asked if we would like to score an outdoor seat. Heck Yeah! we said as we were enjoying summer like weather in March. The French onion soup starter was sublime and the burger/fries hit the spot. The burger accompanied by a tomato relish, perfectly crispy bacon and cheddar cheese has a great flavour profile. My companion had the Wedge salad to start and while tasty lacked enough topping .. too much iceberg and not enough blue cheese and bacon chips. A typical wedge failing. Don't be stingy.. load it up! I suggested he ask for more dressing. He declined but It was a lovely evening outside with a great comforting meal.
One of our all time favorites. Food and service always top notch.
As always the food and service were excellent! I have been going to Central since the first week it opened and I have always had an extraordinary experience.
Always such a lovely evening. Thank you for being the absolute best in every way!
As always the food and service were excellent. Thank you!
Great happy hour deals! Amazing service!
Central Michel Richard remains a delightful part of DC dining, producing delicious food in a comfortable setting. The kitchen team is top notch and the service is welcoming, warm, and professional. Whether you try bistro-inspired dishes, Michel's crunchy and juicy fried chicken, or a new offering from the kitchen, be sure to save room for the spectacular desserts!
Our server, Boris, was awesome. We hadn't been here in a few years and really wanted to get out for a nice evening, especially with COVID-19 over the last year. The tables were spread apart. Luckily, we werent by the door or it would have been chilly (each time it opens you feel that draft). The lobster burger was delicious, as well as the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. The carry-out only special is an amazing deal for $30, so we might go back for that.
Although Covid has taken a toll, the food is still excellent as well as the service. Isabelle is excellent and very attentive! This may be the best gourmet comfort food in DC.
Wonderful visit to eat outdoors on a chilly, peaceful Friday night downtown. The staff was excellent. They took great care to be sure that we had everything we needed without stifling our conversation, and honoring all CDC protocols. The food was excellent as always, and the slimmed down menu has plenty to choose from.
Outdoor seating was easy to request via open table. Each table is well spaced from the next and multiple heaters were available.
While we continue to miss eating indoors, it was a perfect DC day for lunch outside at Central. Boris provided great service and the kale green goddess salad was beyond amazing. The leftovers made dinner even better!
Isabella made our dinner this weekend feel downright normal, like the old times. We had a table off on our own, folks were vaccinated - or at least one shot on board - so there was some relief that we were safer. The food was still the wonderful Central food, and the service just thoughtful and appropriate.
Isabelle and the staff are amazing. Wonderful cocktails, great food and good conversation. Looking forward to going again!!!
Kudos to central Michel Richard for staying open. Unfortunately only 6 of us in the entire restaurant. Waiter was fantastic and I was super well treated on my birthday.
We loved the food and the drinks and will surely go back soon.
Absolutely perfect! Isabella ensured everything was great. The scallops were the best I have ever had.
Great food and service was excellent. Isabelle was knowledgeable on the menu and made excellent recommendations. I will definitely return.
Great atmosphere and the food was amazing. Perfect for a quick date night
We had our first night out in almost a year! Everything was fantastic! Food was delicious, service was great. We visited on Saturday night of Valentine’s weekend.
Opted for the a la carte and out of the Valentine's prefixe, and was very delighted. A single appetizer and salad was plenty for 2 on the a la carte menu; get the beef bourguignon for an entree (delicious!); and of course their wine selection was great. Seated in the back 'VIP' area, which is through the kitchen, where we had isolated seating without compromising service.
We were sat closer to the front of the restaurant and there was a constant alarm like buzzing throughout the meal that really took away from the ambiance of the evening. When we mentioned it to the staff that didn’t seem to know what it was. I was taken aback by that because it wasn’t a light sound.
The food was great. Service as well. I hadn't been there in years, but it was nice revisit, and remind myself of its quality.
It was excellent!
Kudos to the Chef, Isabelle, the wait staff and all involved.
Again, the lyonnaise salad is terrific as is the two piece chicken. Note, the portions are huge.
As usual the food and service were impeccable. We visit Central once a week at least because we absolutely love the food and the service. Boris is a gem. Isabelle is the best manager I’ve seen at a restaurant. Please do come to Central. You will not be disappointed. I promise!
Excellent in every way.
Chef is terrific, hostess could not be better, table staff did a great job.
I could get the lyonnaise salad everyday and be extremely pleased. The fried chicken is perfect!
Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. The best.
