I had an amazing birthday dinner at Central Market. Central Market is definitely our favorite restaurant in Petaluma. They made a special birthday dessert for me. Our meal was phenomenal as usual and we had a great seat outside. Thank you to Tony, Sarah, and the whole crew for an awesome dinner.
Outside dining was fantastic.
It was refreshing to see that they have redone the menu as Central Market rarely updates. Please tell the owner to invest in how they set up their outdoor seating. He should invest in heat lamps and move the outdoor tables to behind his restaurant rather than on the side. It was WAY TOO WINDY and cold. Our server was amazing and very intune with checking in with us as we were seated outside. Other restaurants along Petaluma Blvd have done a better job with outdoor seating and have thought about the welfare and conditions of their clientele. Cucina Paradiso and Risibisi have done so why can't Central Market? This is the new normal and they need to get with the program and rethink their layout.
Our first time inside dining since the virus outbreak. Table distancing was good and the staff working with gloves and masks put us at ease. Food remains great.
We have loved Central Market for years. They haven't lost their touch. Amazing flavors, from wonderful fresh ingredients, and stellar service.
We enjoyed the beet salad with goat cheese, Wagyu Beef Skewers with Chimmichurri, a great baguette and beers. Wonderful food and service -will definitley be back!
Excellent food. Great service. Will definitely return to try other great food items!
Food and service was excellent! We ate outside near the river which is really nice this time of year! The dessert was amazing! It was a caramel pudding with whipped cream and wonderful macaroons!
Birthday and anniversary
Central Market is hands down the best restaurant in Petaluma, actually in Sonoma and Marin County. The recipes and flavors are superlative. The ingredients they use are top notch. I don’t give 5 starts out lightly...Central Market more than deserves them.
Great to get back to one of our favorite places in the neighborhood. Everything was delicious as always!
Central Market is fine dining in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. The best farm to table high quality ingredients. An ever evolving menu delivered by knowledgeable, expert service staff; they’re top quality, the best. We have been enjoying this restaurant since it opened, and they’ve earned our support with every visit. We offer our highest recommendation.
We hadn't been there in a couple of years, and it was absolutely wonderful. The food was excellent, the service warm and prompt, and the atmosphere lovely. We were there for a later evening (8:15pm) Sunday dinner, and it emptied out pretty quickly and was very quiet. Highly recommended.
Continues to be the best dining experience in Petaluma and perhaps north of GGB
Alexis is a phenomenal waitress who has shown us so much kindness over the years. We can only afford Central Market for special occasions and we love it every single time that we come!
Very good meal participating in the Sonoma County Restaurant Week.
Had a confirmed reservation but wasn’t seated for another 20 minutes. Service was sparse. It was clear that they were busy, which is terrific, but I don’t think is reason for the slow service and attention to guests. Plan accordingly. Food was terrific and the overall ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and uplifting. I ordered a cheese plate to go ($14). I received a small to go box with four pieces of cheese at the bottom, next layer was a tiny portion of dried apple, next layer was a few pieces of crouton bread. I was pretty disappointed with that. My guess was if we had ordered it at the table, it would have been a nice presentation with more options and also honey that was not included in our to go order. Wasn’t expecting a huge cheese plate, but I also wasn’t expecting a tower of food, stacked on top of each other in a tiny to go box. By the time we got it home, (10 minutes later) it was just one cluster of mess.
Good celebration meal - thanks for the champagne toast for our Anniversary🥂. We enjoyed the ban my, smelts, white pizza and pork belly 😋😋😋

Central Market is our go to restaurant in Petaluma when we have special guests in town. We can always count on delicious food and excellent service. A casual atmosphere with upscale food.
Usually outstanding - in addition to Restaurant Week there was a Mardi Gras night - so no Restaurant Week eve - that was disappointing. The service was particularly slow.
Ambiance is always energetic.
We went for their Mardi Gras celebration and had a great meal! The whole menu was what you would expect if you were in New Orleans for the experience!
Great job Tony!!!
Can’t wait until next year 😄🎉
Chef Tony pulled out all the stops for a blowout Fat Tuesday meal. Never had a better one even in NOLA.
Mardi Gras & birthday celebration. Special menu food was amazing! Also loved the extra Mardi Gras decorations — such fun! Service personal and great. Central Market never disappoints
We were excited to try Central Market. Disappointed in what we ordered. Seafood dish was very spicy and overpowered delicate seafood. Dish would be good with a garlic butter broth and good bread. Lemon pie was more like lemon marmalade. Server was nice - however, forgot coffee and whipped cream for pie. Did not live up to expectations.
Food was excellent but service was poor.
Delicious short ribs with yummy potatoes au gratin, and the MOST divine chocolate tart EVER!
Andres served our every need with a great attitude. Red wines by the glass selection was excellent. We will definitely be back!
This restaurant was superb! We started with bib salad with the best lardon we had ever tasted! Then shared short rib and vegetable sides. Everything was just incredible.
Second time, revisit for 32oz steak and broccoli.
32oz steak is proven, pairing with old vine zin!!!
Oyster at happy hour is good too!
It is full around 7 pm at Wednesday.
Great place, will return.
Central Market is a pleasant and warm restaurant providing very tasty dishes, especially the scollops with Brussels sprouts that we ordered the evening that we recently had reservations. I'd say the wine is well selected but overpriced. Service was certainly adequate yet a bit dour, with very few smiles and rare eye contact. The clear highlight of Central Market is the kitchen from which many delightful and tasty dishes emerge!
Always enjoy the service and good. Made my reservation several weeks in advance. I wasn’t too happy to learn there was a $25.00 cover charge per person because it was Valentine’s Day. Although we received an appetizer and glass of champagne, it wasn’t worth it but since I didn’t have an alternative at that moment we stayed for dinner.
We went for valentines with some friends, it’s a lovely atmosphere and good service but our food took forever and our pasta carbonara was overpriced for a tiny portion and it was really not good. Pretty disappointing as I do like Central Market but not sure I’ll be back 😕
Great service and outstanding food
Central Market is a gem. The food is consistently delicious. I love the feeling of the place and the effort Tony put into all he does. I had the short ribs and my husband ordered the pork chops. Both wonderful. We have been patrons for years and will return soon. Make Central Market a favorite of yours.
$23.00 for a $2.00 can of chickpea stew. Really.
We found Central Market through a search of vegetarian /vegan restaurants . However, There are not a lot of vegetarian / vegan entrees on the menu. The sides that we ordered however were totally delicious! Service was efficient and friendly.
We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. New offers lots of different choices and not just the standard fare. It was fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. We did small plate, a lot of them! And enjoyed each one. The pesto spaghetti with crab was delish as well as wagyu beef skewers. Also enjoyed the lamb pie with side salad and the roasted carrots. Will be back again.
Had a meal there with my company’s Members of the Board. Quality food and great service!
Best restaurant in Sonoma County. The bread and salads alone are to die for.
