Our food was excellent! I had the scallops over polenta and my husband had the salad with egg and vegetables. He said the salad was the best he has ever had. My son had the chicken dish and he was very pleased

We had a special dinner with friends we rarely get to see, and Central Market accommodated all our requests and MORE! The food was wonderful, attentive service and they gave us just the right table. A+ all around. Highly recommended.

This is our go-to place for special dinner events locally. The dates and the stuffed peppers are great appetizers, the pizzas are always good, and anything lamb or pork is excellent!

Great, locally sourced food, and plenty of it! Creatively prepared dishes. Didn't have the pizza this time, but I love that they change periodically.

We are regulars and normally love our experience. This time however was not a good experience, and it’s the 3rd consecutive time. Service was very sub standard, food was off and server brought 2 of our individual dishes early and the 2 individual meat dishes later for the table of 4 guests. Simple service details were missed. Example: No ice bucket was offered for the champagne bottle we ordered, therefore we requested one from the server. Little details matter with a dining experience. We all noticed something unusual and poor quality, us and our guests. It is sad because while your prices have increased significantly over the last 12 months, the other aspects of the restaurant have noticeably suffered. There are other options in town that we feel we must suggest instead for our weekly dinners. I am sorry to be so honest but hopefully this can help you and the staff concentrate on some improvements to basic details.

Fantastic seasonal food without any attitude. Locally-sourced food, with some tasty exceptions, great service, and great wines and beers.

Always our go-to for happy hour and date nights. Save room for dessert (seasonal pies, the chocolate tart, and the pot of creme are always excellent!)

We arrived at 8:15 to a 1/2 empty restaurant which is appropriate for a Thursday. Water and stale bread brought to table and waitress didn’t come around for 10 minutes after we were seated, something about the credit card machine not working, turned out they were using a debit card by accident. Finally get our orders in, appetizer arrives 20 min later and food arrives 45 min after initial order placed. By the time we were done eating we were the last ones in the restaurant. Food was delicious but to be honest with you, we had already drank the bottle of wine we had ordered by the time the main course arrived....so not exactly well planned. In any event, cute place, nice ambience, delicious food...service and timing left much to be desired. Our waitress was nice enough and honestly her chipper attitude made me tip the 20%, otherwise I would have tipped 10%.

Living in San Francisco, I’m fortunate to have endless culinary choices. Central Market is one of those special culinary restaurants most Petalumans know all too well. Last time I ate here not only was the food fabulous, but sitting across from Winona Ryder was also very cool. My daughter went to school with her at Petaluma Junior High and she was always very soft spoken and a kind woman. Last night, my fiancé and I had the pleasure of sitting next to Matt Cain and his wife. A special spot...wished there were more like it in the North Bay...

Tony and his team consistently produce superior food a great service , we never had anything but great dinners.

Tony, if you wound like a suggestion think about this one: we find your menu is a littler stagnant, needs some new items. I'm 100 sure your business is repeat business, give us some surprises ones in a while.

We started with the trout crudo which disappointed us since the slices of fish were so thick.
(I think of crudo as being paper thin slices which I prefer).
Second we had the Chicory salad which was fine not great.
Third we had the polenta & Crab that was out of this world great!!!!
Service was top shelf.

My second visit at Central Market in two weeks. Lovely serving folk, though service can be slow. Food is either exquisite, amazing flavor, or quite ordinary tasting. Quality of food varies. For example we had bass with flavorful mashed potatoes and savory spinach that was incredible, the best I’ve had. I savored every bite! But the fettuccini with prawns and scallops was not very tasty. The bread is delicious, as is the sautéed garden vegetables. But the lamb shank was hard and not very flavorful. Prices are not low. Still, I can’t wait to try more of their offerings, just for the chance to experience more amazing food.

What an amazing find in Petaluma. We were meeting friends who live in Sea Ranch and decided on "half" way. My friends all have enthusiastically told me what a find Central Market is, and I can attest it. The server we had was simply outstanding. She was incredibly patient with our friend who has many dietary restrictions. She remained pleasant and cheerful and never hurried us.
I only wish they were closer.

Had the lamb shank which was PERFECTION and the pizza which was not well received by my husband as it was overwhelmed with arugula and the crust thin, with wood fired burnt crust, which is trendy now but he’s not a fan of any crust with black on it. We were both disgusted by the filth on the wind curtain at the entrance. We almost left before we entered because of it. I would recommend having extra curtains that you can switch out and have cleaned as needed. We received a complementary dessert for his birthday which we truly appreciate it and it was extremely tasty.

It was our first visit but it won't be our last. The staff was great and very helpful. We went there for restaurant week, we like to try new places each year. We were told that restaurant week was over for them, which we did not understand since it was saturday night and it was to go till sunday. The waitress went and talked with the chef who said he would do the restaurant week menu for us at the stated price. We were very happy to get this information. The food was great! We ordered the fried chicken livers and they were to die for-tender, tasteful, melted in your mouth! The grilled vegetables were very tasty and you received a large serving. I had the mussels, they were large and very tender. I brought the leftover broth home to have the next day. My husband had the grilled sausage with the polenta which was really good. The polenta was crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. YUM! He brought half of it home for the next days lunch there was so much. For dessert we had the butterscotch pudding which came with 2 cookies that melted in your mouth. So good. We were so full when we were done. We can't wait to go back again. It is well worth the drive from santa rosa to have dinner at this place!

It was my first time dining at Central Market. I made a reservation not knowing what to expect, and once I got there was glad I did because the place was quite busy. The hostess was very friendly and offered me a choice of tables and it wasn’t very long before the waitress greeted me to start the experience. I chose six oysters from Hog Island and the scallops with a glass of Pinot Noir, all of which were spectacular. After the meal was a great cup of coffee and an honored request of a side of butter that was delicious. Easily a five-star experience.

We had a wonderful meal during restaurant week. We both had the roasted vegetable plate (veggies nicely grilled and a delicious sauce), the mussels (divine well seasoned broth), the butterscotch pot de creme. Service was very good and we really liked the simple interior design. Loved everything.

I have had dinner at Central Market many times because I consider the food top shelf with an emphasis on farm to fork. Tony raises his own pigs and provides vegetables from his garden as well.
Tony even mingles with his customers and is always making sure that everyone is happy and having a memorable dining experience. The menu is expansive and every dish outstanding, service excellent. Being a “foodie” I have tried so many Sonoma and Napa County restaurants and Central Market is one of my favorites.

With a stellar restaurant like Central Market in town, it is hard to go anywhere else.
Recently celebrated a birthday there... We sat in the corner window seat so we felt like we had a private room. Wait staff is excellent. They know just how to be attentive to the max without being intrusive and perfectly paced our meal. It was great to share a bunch of apps and an entree with my date... love the glass and a half pour! If you like spicy, the Wagu beef skewer has a bit of a kick and the roasted Brussel sprouts did too. Absolutely loved the grilled mussel app. The bread basket came in handy to soak up the delicious sauce from the scallop entree. Wish we would have saved room for dessert! Our 'go to' special occasion and every day deserves a treat place!

We went to Central Market for my sisters birthday, she is a local however, this was the first experience for all of us. We shared one of the flatbread pizzas to start off which was delicious! it was a mushroom, Fontina cheese, garlic and bacon pizza and the bacon was fresh from their farm! Each of us had a different entree, the Mary's chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy, Wagyu beef sirloin steak was like butter, Lamb Shank fell off the bone and the Hand cut Linguine with seafood was full of flavor. We all enjoyed our dish very much. They also have a very nice selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle. I don't usually go for dessert but the choices were so tempting. I had the Butterscotch pudding which brought me back to my childhood, it is definitely a must have! My Mom enjoyed the Shaker Meyer Lemon pie as well. This is a spot not to be missed!
