Super charming restaurant
Our favorite restaurant Downtown Petaluma. Food & service always outstanding. Make sure to save room for dessert.
Central Market is consistently outstanding--food and service! I was amazed that the server remembered me from quite a few months ago. That definitely makes for a personal experience.
Great local Petaluma restaurant. Great food. Good wine. Nice Ambiance. Have always had good meals at Central Market.
A wonderful place. The food and atmosphere are excellent. Service attentive and helpful. My favorite restaurant in Petaluma!
It was overall very good but would’ve been better if the thanksgiving dinner included coffee with dessert and maybe a complimentary non alcoholic beverage. Service was good - noise level was really loud so it made it hard to carry on a conversation.
Fantastic! Everything from entree to salad to soup was perfection.
It’s still a great local spot in Petaluma but I feel the quality of food has deteriorated a bit over the years. There were not a lot of vegetarian choices for entree this evening, in fact only 1. Booth seating was ripped.
Long wait in-between salad course and entree and then another long wait for dessert. One guest ordered a cappuccino which arrived after the others had finished their dessert. Service has been terrible the last two visits to this restaurant. So disappointing because the food is great.
We had an amazing meal before a show at the Mystic Theater. Food here is always great and the wine list is equally amazing. Try Central Market, you won’t be disappointed.
Our server seemed confused, hesitant to honor our seating request for two. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived.
Great food but very loud. Tables are so close it was hard to not be distracted on both sides of us.
Central Market is our "go to" restaurant in Petaluma. Chef Tony Najiola's attention to details in his farm-to-table cuisine with a creative menu five nights per week will appeal to the most finicky palates. Central Market's staff greets you with the welcoming warmth of family and friends from the time you arrive until the time you leave. From the menu descriptions to the actual presentation, each dish is prepared with excellence, and leaves you totally satisfied. Our family, friends and relatives love Central Market and will return over and over again.
The food itself was absolutely incredible. The service was well under par for a restaurant of this quality. It almost felt as though the server was trying to rush our table through the service as soon as we sat down.
Enjoy our weekday evening meal at Central Market. The staff was friendly and seated the four of us in the booth we requested. The menu was refreshingly unique and tasty, particularly for the pork dishes, as they raise their own hogs. A truly memorable farm-to-table experience. We shall return.
Delicious meal , we order the roasted vegetables and the farinatta , both roasted in the pizza oven , both were equally delicious.
Main course followed , papusa was good, could have used a little more flavor and the fennel sausage dish was very good and comforting.
We shared a delicious piece of pumpkin pie for dessert.
We love central market , the seasonality of their menus and use of local ingredients.
Consistently the best restaurant in Petaluma for food quality.
Wonderful, delicious, spectacular food! We will be back when we return to the area.
This was from start to finish one of the best meals I've ever had, taste-wise. The room was a little cold (we sat by the window) and the service was spotty. I would recommend this for an amazing meal, but if ambiance is your thing you might not be as impressed.
Fabulous ambiance, waitstaff, and food. I will definitely visit again and encourage my friends also.
Took our daughter and her boyfriend to Central Market for dinner. It was big fun, and everything fell in place. Some of my favorite front of the house folks were on the scene - Jordan gave us a warm greeting. Alexis was in top form as our server - turned us on the to sardines as our starter. KILLER! and told us the story of how difficult it is to get these. they normally end up in Japan. Nice wine recommendations. And her wry sense of humor was there in full force, usually at my expense ;-). Also got a chance to chat with Sarah, the manager. She really came through for us to get our favorite server for our daughter’s birthday.
We started with the sardines, shared by all.
Then each couple share the Litlle Gem Lettuce salad with the kick*ss house-grown, smoked bacon.
Each of us had our own main. I had the waygu sirloin for the first time.
And pumpkin pie with dessert with a little Madeira.
The food was delicious and fresh! Our server was friendly, informative and right on with her recommendations. We enjoyed our time there and want to go back soon.
The food is fantastic and the staff is superb. It was our first time and we look forward to returning next month.
My husband and I took our son here to celebrate his graduation from the Coast Guard. We had a wonderful meal, the rib eye steak was phenomenal! Our wait staff was attentive and and very friendly. Great experience!
There were two of us. They sat us at a table that hardly fit our food. It was a constant juggle to be able to access all the items on the table without throwing something over the border.
Food and ambiance were great.
Server forgot about a beer order and I had to ask again when he forgot to bring my coffee order even though it was on the bill. They even told us main course would be 40 mins wait AFTER they cleared our starter plates due to a back-up on the grill. No Diet Coke was available when asked and only wines/beers on offer, no liquor or cocktails.
I'm sure another visit would rectify my opinion but was just left feeling slightly disappointed with the service.
We made a reservation for 8pm and weren't seated until 8:30.
We had a nice meal before an author’s talk at Copperfield’s so with a tight schedule had no time for dessert. Appetizers and entree’s very good.
Got there for happy hour great bite and drinks
Fantastic food, ambience, and service. One of the best meals we’ve had in a long while.
Took my wife and daughter out to share a Rosso pizza, a LIttle Gem salad and some drinks. I think the next time i’ll do Iced tea. Sean took care of us and we were in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I nice dinner after being on a mini-vacation to the Mendocino area. The housemade bacon from the owners heritage pigs was less crispy than usual and particularly nice on the salad tonight.
Also nice to do a quick catch-up with Sarah, the manager.
Food and drink were very good, just as advertised by staff. The portions on the “starters” side of the menu were huge! Could easily be cut in half for half the price and be just as satisfying. My wife ordered tomato bisque which came in a tureen, and my beet salad was enough for 2-4 people. There was also a very long gap between our starters and entrees - probably 30+ minutes. But we were not in a hurry and the food was great.
As I sat in the restaurant, looking around, I noticed that everyone seemed to be happy - having a great time, which was truly our experience. This is our 4th or 5th time and we've loved it each time. We often start with the oysters, which come with two side sauces - a fresh horseradish (wow that's so different from the jar stuff!!!) and a red wine vinegar with (?) shallots. It's like eating the sea, fresh, sweet and a bit salty. Then we've had several salads, always interesting tastes. For mains: the short rib falls off the bone, as does the duck confit, the pasta is fresh and tender. Desserts - have been good - although I really wanted a brulee! Our plan next time is to work our way through the starters.
What was supposed to be a romantic but low-stakes dinner with my new boyfriend became a super romantic and lovely dinner because the ambiance and our servers were just so fantastic. This is definitely a special place for us now. Delicious fresh food! Still thinking about our strawberry pie a la mode and I’m not even a big dessert person!! ❤️
Wonderful, creative menu. Something for everyone.!
Our server, Alexis, was wonderful - warm, attentive and kept the food coming at a measured pace. She was fantastic. We shared small plates (a great way to go) and desserts. Great food, wine and company. We stayed until the restaurant closed.
Our party was late and the restaurant was gracious enough to hold our table.
Fantastic as always. Our favorite place in Petaluma
Always a quality experience. Great menu, fabulous service, superior food. One of our favorites.
