Salumeria is a deli and larder that showcases a selection of Italian inspired house-made salumi and prosciutto with a Northern California sensibility.
Another amazing meal!
The duck blew us away!
Good friend was in town so we treated him - was fabulous food & overall experience. Got the Chef’s Choice menu for the table. Highly recommend!
Fun and casual. Salmon was a served a little cool. We liked the smoked eggplant conserva.
My favorite Italian restaurant in SF! We love Chef Thomas.
While the food was terrific, the portions were on the small size and our drinks were way too small for $12. The place was drafty and our food got cold quickly. I like the setting but it only works in warm weather. I wouldn't go back.
Great food and nice staff!
The food was delicious and the service excellent. We were told to order family style and for a party of five we found one dish not enough to share with all.
Everything was nice, food lovely, a bit cold and the music to loud to have a nice conversation
The wild mushroom tortellini was amazing and I will have dreams about it!
We came here for my daughter’s birthday. There was six of us with some picky eaters and a vegetarian. There was plenty to chose from and everything was delicious and devoured. Service was excellent.
We had the chef's selection prix fixe menu. Presentation was great, and the flavors were well-balanced and rich.
It was just about the right amount of food. If you opt for the prix fixe, get the wine pairing that they offer along with it - we regret not having done that.
There's a bar that's separate but shares common space with Central Kitchen - the bar gets pretty lively and makes talking more challenging as the night goes on.
Fantastic. Can’t wait to go again. This is a true farm-to-table experience without the pretense that can be found in so many others. Also prices felt less than many others in the same category! Brava🤗🤗🤗
Central Kitchen is always fantastic! A great place for a special occasion.
Had a great experience at Central Kitchen. The staff was incredible, and as we basically ordered the entire menu:
The Steak Tartare was excellent. Perfect mince, and the smoked egg yolk was a nice touch
Fry Bread with Green Onion Powder and Buratta was incredible.
We shared the whole roast chicken w/Calabrian chili, roasted lemon, and garlic - cooked to the platonic ideal
The pastas were, of course, excellent - we shared the strozzapreti w/braised duck and the pork angnolotti
But the star of the show, and I know this isn't what you are expecting, was the cauliflower. I have NO IDEA what they put in that sauce, but the bright lemon flavor against the sort of spicy sauce and the char on the cauliflower were just...magic.
Thanks for a great evening and a wonderful meal!
All of their sauces are amazing.
We hadn't been here in a couple of years and were very pleased to see the expanded menu take on some of the inspiration from the Mothership, Flour + Water. The staff were pleasant and informative and the food was top notch. It's on our regular rotation now.
Food was fabulous! Loved the shared plates! Definitely an enjoyable evening. A little hard to get servers attention - I think they were super busy but would avoid your eyes.Central Kitchen should taste their wine selections. We didn’t send it back but it was bad. We never knew there was bad wine in Sonoma. We would definitely go back.
The front of the house is a mess.
We arrived before our reservation, and were seated after our reservation. The main dishes came out 1 hour after we were seated. They forgot our drink order, and didn't offer water, which meant that food was sitting on the table for a bit so that we didn't have to eat with nothing to drink.
Now, to be positive, this is a gorgeous space and the food is incredible. Be prepared to share, as it's very rich. (Besides, it's family style). The chefs all know what they're doing.
The dress code is very casual -- a few hipsters but really just casual elegant with roughly a 25-35 average aged customer while we were there.
I'd say that if they could fix their service, it'll be a great restaurant, and I look forward to coming back after I hear that that's happened.
Again on the plus side, the staff took the late drink off of the check without mentioning it, which was the classy thing to do.
Really unfortunate about the service delays, though.
This was our first time dining here and it was excellent. Everything from the small plates like the bread and buratta to the pate plus the veggies were delicious. The duck and chicken were both incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. Loved the apertif cocktails. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
My go to place for a great meal at what is not (for San Francisco) exorbitant prices. Staff is great, food is very good.
We were a table of four who ordered the shared Chef’s Choice dishes with wine pairing. As sauv blanc and cabernet lovers, the wine choices (rose, lighter reds) were not our favourites so next time, I’d order my own wine, but the food was outstanding and we loved every minute of our experience. Will definitely recommend to others and would go back next time in SF for sure.
Most importantly, the service was exceptional! She was very thoughtful and professional that made my experience was the fullest! Which ended up to the perfection! Well thought out dishes and flavors were very well brought together
Central Kitchen is one of my favorites. My grandma is a vegetarian and sensitive to garlic, and they were able to accommodate her when ordering the asparagus and chicories salad. They were DELICIOUS. We will definitely be back.
Hit or miss with the food. Hit or miss with how knowledgeable the server is. Love the space.
Great food and menu. Looking forward to returning. Polenta fabulous.
Delicious food, and great staff. Now one of our favorites. Highly recommend!
Beautiful food. Don’t leave without trying the chocolate dessert.
Parking horrible. Not enough servers. Plates extremely small for a dinner portion. Just not comfy. Wine also expensive. Then the is the 5% sf surcharge.
Super good. We did the tasting menu and all was outstanding and epic. Will return for sure. Foodie crew with high expectations and they delivered. Thx central kitchen.
Loved our dinner at Central Kitchen, but thought appetizers were a bit over priced for the quantity received, read halibut crudo and fry bread, but everything else was reasonably priced. The only other negative was the music volume, it was REALLY loud and it could have been where we were seated, but does it REALLY need to be that loud in a restaurant?
It’s a convenient location for transit and Trick Dog only. Food portions can be slightly bigger (for the price), no way you can consider it family style. We ordered 7 dishes (2 pastas, 3 vegetarian, and fish) feed 5 people.
Wonderful food especially the pastas. We will go back frequently just for their ever changing pasta selections. Loved the ambiance and the comfortable noise level. Service was friendly but not as attentive as we would have liked and the pacing of dishes coming to us was disjointed. We finished one pasta before the other was brought to us. Overall, loved the place and want it to become one of our reliable go to spots.
We had a lovely late dinner. The food and service was exceptional. We especially loved the squid and mussel pasta.
Incredible food, lots of vegetable options and the best service. Really nice people, very attentive.
Enjoyed all pasta dishes very much. Top notch service.
Food was superb. Have not been there in years, glad I went back.
The food is excellent. Our service was not great. It was confusing as it appeared we had two servers, and it was unclear whom to ask for things. We asked for assistance with the fan (it was on full speed and it was really windy on our table) and the noise (the music is blasting in there - feels more like a nightclub!) but then the server would forget and we would ask the other person if she could help. Our main server was not very friendly. Both people tried to take our drink orders. I think it might make sense for Central Kitchen to just assign one wait person to each table? The food is just beyond amazing, so it was totally worth the mediocre/confusing service and we would try it again.
We had theater tickets and they got us in and out without feeling rushed or pushed. Food was excellent, too!
Food was excellent. Service was exactly average. Barely nice and felt rushed
