Fresh ingredients and surprising combinations; one of the best meals I had in town. Not one of the cheapest or largest portions, though.

New favorite restaurant in the Mission District! Quality of food was soooo good. Great wine selection.

Our waiter was a bit distracted initially. Didn't seem like it was typical, and ultimately we had very good food and a good overall experience.

Food is creative and delicious! Serving staff and hostess was very friendly as we had our kids with us and they checked on them which made them feel
Important too! Everything they do with Meyer Lemon (pasta to sorbet) is amazing and worth a trip back!

The food was outstanding, the service however was very poor with 3 wrong dishes presented to the table when they were never mentioned. The timing of dishes served was also not what we agreed upon to the waitress.

Went twice and both times I took the "let the kitchen decide" menu with wine pairings. Both time this was one of the best meals I've had. Everything is very tasty, very healthy, original, delicious. Wine pairing was great too.

Excellent food and great experience. Service was a bit slow as they seemed short staffed and the server was clearly overwhelmed, but overall it was an amazing experience. Highly recommended!

Came here with a group of girlfriends for a bachelorette party and loved it. The menu is small and sounds a bit unusual but everything was amazing. I definitely recommend ordering a few options for the table and sharing so you can reu. The wine/champagne options are great but just know they don’t serve liquor, so no cocktails. Our waiter, Collin, was great and even has the hostess give us suggestions for places to go afterwards to drinks/dancing. Super cool atmosphere too!

I brought my husband to celebrate a promotion at his company. The service was great, the food was amazing, and drinks were delicious. This is one of our favorite restaurants and they did not disappoint.

The menu was limited and I was worried that I may not have selected the right restaurant to celebrate a special birthday. Listen to your waitstaff and order what they recommend....we accepted their recommendations and had an amazing meal of beautifully prepared shared plates.

Poorly executed bone in ribeye. Asked for medium well and it came out medium rare.

The food is fine. Small plates though and the pasta wasn't warm enough. Servers were rushing us to finish our meal. They tried to take our plates a few times before we finish our meal. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

The food was unexpectedly great (the restaurant appears more casual than the food ends up being). Really enjoyed it. The only issue was the service, which was VERY slow. We had to ask the sommelier to take our order and there was way too much time between courses. Ended up taking 2.5 hours which is just too long for this kind of dinner. But I'd go back, assuming this was a Sunday night fluke.

This was our first visit to Central Kitchen but our friends had been there a couple of times before which proved very helpful. Given that it is “shared plates” you need to figure out how many from each category. The server stated typically 2 dishes per person however some of the dishes are so teeny that there is not much to share. Overall, every dish was delicious and my only complaint was portion size. We spent close to $100 per person and cannot say we walked away full. However, again, each dish was delicious.

I loved this place when it opened and still love the space/ambiance. But the food has gone downhill. The fish/cod was far too salty and just underwhelming. The pork loin was under cooked and terribly fatty. The beet salad was fine but nothing exciting. Disappointing. I hope the food picks back up because I used to love this place.

Too noisy this time. Every table was yelling to be heard with what sounded like 80"s punk at full volume. Really over the top. Ruined the meal.

With our Open Table reservation, we still had to wait 28 mins for our table. Once we ordered, the food came out at odd intervals some 20 mins later, others a few mins with no actual reasonable order. The carrots came out last and were bland. The beef tartare wasn’t tasty. After the meal, my date and I were both sick thoroughout the night. I’m unclear why Central Kitchen has good reviews. Avoid this restaurant!

Fantastic! Got the "let the kitchen decide" fixed price plus wine pairing. Every course superb. Excellent service. Sophisticated food in a relaxed atmosphere at good value. What else is there to say?

The food was great, clever and very tasty combinations. The interior is cool ( I did like the industrial style fountain). Overall - loved it. It was a little noisy though (probably not the best place for first date), and for me a wee bit cold (but that is jsut me - girl at the next table was fine with wearing a tank top. I will certainly come back...

Our experience was fairly mixed. While there were some dishes that were amazing (the beet pasta and the chocolate dessert in particular), many elements of the night were a bit off. The main course was dry (which I assume happened because it was Restaurant Week and they had pre-cooked what they expected to sell), we received one dish on a pottery plate which had a huge chip (silver dollar sized) missing out of it, and the whole meal felt rushed as they kept pouring the wine for the next course when we were barely halfway through the current course.

Overall an ok experience, but overall not a “wowing” meal.

First visit as part of SF Restaurant week. We try a new restaurant or 2 each year. The FIVE course tasting menu was a great introduction. Especially pleasing were the small plates. While everything was particularly good, the stand out for us was the torchino with braised pork & baby kale (a pasta I'd not had before). Wines by the glass were limited but well curated and we had exactly what we wanted. Not a dessert person but ate it all.

The dining room is really a warehouse and we went on a cold night. There were heaters above each table, and we did warm up. The music was a bit loud and the radio captain for the evening was clearly a rocker - not sure it provided for the best ambiance, so be prepared.

Still, I will return.

Everything was good.

The only thing was the background music they played - selection was okay but it was quite loud in the inner dining room where we sat in the middle. I noticed overhead speakers on all 4 sides centering our table so it was a little difficult to hear our table conversation.
