We had a fabulous dinner and great service! I would definitely go back.
Fabulous food! Small menu, but delicious options. The music was around 90-95 decibels, enough for hearing damage after 1 hour exposure. It’s really hot under the space heaters, so the option to reduce the heat would be perfect.
Wonderful dinner...son’s college roommate just moved to SF as an MD, so with their partners six of us enjoyed the myriad offerings, all so creative and delicious. The duck was especially outstanding. Loved the ásperol cocktails. Wish I could remember our server’s name as he was outstanding (dinner 12/2 at a table near the wine bar). This is our ‘go to’ place when my husband and I visit from Chicago. Great food and staff!
Food was great. Initial server was fabulous but then she was pulled off (to don”side work” whatever that is). Replacement server was silent and our mains came quite a bit apart from each other. Overall would have been excellent had our original server been able to stay
I didn't know chicken could taste this amazing. I wish I lived in the neighborhood so this could be my go to spot. Sooooo good!
Crazy loud. I know I’m a Boomer, but so were at least half of the people there. I love the openness of the space and I love the food, but my guest was uncomfortable and will not go back. I will think twice. It’s just too loud.
this was the most delicious meal I have had in recent memory! OUTSTANDING food! best brussel sprouts I have ever had, and I almost always order them at a restaurant so I have much to compare
EAT HERE for sure!
a little crowded and a little loud- not a good place for a large party- BUT THE FOOD-WOW!
Lovely menu the space is gorgeous.
Always terrific! Every detail on the plate is clearly considered, resulting in clean plates for our whole group. We also had a wonderful Italian wine that was reasonably priced.
When I read the ratings for this restaurant I was very excited to try it. After going there, I have to admit I'm a little surprised! The staff were lovely and while it was mostly tasty, the best thing there was the fry bread. The dishes for the price or not extraordinary or particularly fabulous. I would say the tasters menu is the way to go cuz you get to try a little of everything. It was very loud and the music was very modern/hip hoppy and not to my taste. Cool vibe and The Rustic industrial look is very much my cup of tea.
Very good local/sustainable food with few exceptions, set in an indoor/semi-outdoor space that is made to acoustically deafen. Don't go here if you want to speak privately or protect your eardrums. With hard concrete and wood everywhere, the space is an industrial chic dream that is visually beautiful... but with even a few people becomes a cacophonous mess. It was impossible to hear someone 2-3 feet away.
The ambiance is still upscale, though. And you're going to find some exceptional food here. A cheese appetizer was uninspired among our offerings, but the salmon was divine, for instance. Impossible not to enjoy the majority of the food. Service was prompt but nothing to write home about, probably because we also couldn't hear most of it anyway. Again, expect to shout unless you bring your own soundproof booth.
Awesome. Will I return? Probably at a quieter time. The food is very very sustainable!
They try too hard to be special by maximizing the number of exotic or unusual ingredients in every dish to the point that nothing sounds (or based on our limited experience, is) very good. As the Austrian duke said to Mozart in Amadeus, too many notes. If all you are looking for is something different that might work, go here. If you want some assurance that the combination does work, you may want to try something less adventurous.
Overall good. We had a reservation, then were seated late which we were cool with. We then felt rushed to finish.
Jeff our waiter was fantastic! The food was wonderful. Hope to brings friends here for a real treat.
Food quality outstanding, but selection somewhat limited. Know that going in; the restaurant doesn't hide its menu. Lively, but hard to hear due to openness of facility...mostly, but not entirely, a younger crowd. Service was attentive, with a sparkling pinot presented for our anniversary.
Food was great! A little on the hardy side, but overall very good. Music was very loud making it very difficult to communicate at a 6-person table. We even asked to turn the music down, which happened, only to be turned back up again.
Great food and wine options, amazing ambience
Perfect place for dinner! Great service combined with incredible food made the date perfection!
We had a loving experience. It was a bit pricey but we were drinking wine, as well. Ambiance was adorable and noise was quiet to moderate allowing us to carry on w intimate conversations. I would return.
All the dishes were great but the lemon verbena ice cream was just top notch.
The food is good but pricey. The service seems inexperienced and better suited for more casual dining with lower price points. It's a bummer with Trick Dog being a part of this restaurant group that they only serve beer and wine.
Amazing service, incredible food and awesome ambiance. 10/10 would go again!!
Food is exceptional every time
The flavors were very good. However, our waitress acted annoyed that we might ask her about the various menu items. Initially, her responses were that everything is good there. We had to work too hard to get her to describe preparations. She never checked in with us during dinner, however many other workers there waited on us in her absence. A very uncomfortable experience, even though the food was good.
Highly recommend! We went with the kitchens choice and pairing. Do it. You won’t be sorry.
The food is above average, but the service is just soso and need improvment, the host is good.
Disappointed with size of pork loin entree for $35. Everything else was great! Recommend the gnocchi pasta dish. Veggie starters too were fantastic.
Beautiful space, kind staff, amazing food + wine, & accommodating to dietary requests. Would return!
We had the "let the kitchen decide" with the wine package. All the selections were outstanding, but we particularly liked the roasted chicken, whipped potatoes with smoked butter and chicken crackling and charred summer squash with walnut romesco. The chocolate custard with coffee ice cream paired with the desert vermouth was the best desert we ever had.
Host avoided eye contact, which started us off on a bad vibe. Server was kind, but food was awful and I remember it being really good a few years ago. I was disappointed and would not return.
The food and atmosphere was awesome! We were there with friends and it was a great time!
We came here for a family celebration. There's a great choice of food that accommodates meat-eaters, vegetarians and picky people. We especially appreciated the choice of salads and first courses. The food is fresh and well-prepared, although I don't know why my salmon entree was served in a small bowl rather than a plate: it felt claustrophobic. Wine choices are also extensive and the atmosphere feels "special" but not affected.
I took a point off because we there was cartilage in our pork rilette. The server apologized and offered a replacement, but we declined. We were not pleased to find ourselves charged for the dish.
It's urban chic. A great selection of wines. I just wish their menu had more choices.
Food was great. Our serve was useless. Was one of the last groups to get a resv, but couldn’t remember to bring simple things like a napkin, specific drink orders or come by to check on us. Worst service I have had here in 3 visits.
Fabulous food. We had 7-8 dishes and they were all delicious. The ambience is so nice. It’s a small restaurant but the layout and open ceilings make it feel intimate and yet lively. As a table of six we were all able to talk without yelling. It was nice and chill.
The “let us choose” menu is outstanding! Amazing selection of everything the menu has to offer. Excellent wine pairings with each course, too, for an extra $45. The service is friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. Casual setting with upscale food. Amazing!
We love this place. We go for special occasions, when people are visiting us, or just for a Friday date night. Highly recommended.
We liked it!
We loved the atmosphere, service and food was good!
We liked the appetizers a lot, while there was not much choice for the main course.
Also the list of Wine by the glass was quite limited, with few options from California.
But overall I think it really deserve a visit
Consistently great service and delicious, creative dishes. I've been here a few times over the past year -- a couple business dinners and one weekend outing with family. Each visit was fulfilling and enjoyable. The ambiance is great, service is great (very attentive staff), menu choices were great, flavors and freshness were great! We recently enjoyed the beet and citrus salad, summer squash with walnut romesco, halibut crudo, mushroom tortelloni, farro 'risotto', and chocolate pudding. We paired the main meal with a lovely Albariño. We were impressed with the subtle, but nice flavor combos in each dish. Central Kitchen is now on my go-to list for a predictably delish meal.
Thank you for taking care of the dessert and your quick response to our concern. In the end, i did not ingest any of it as my friend and I were fine the next morning.
Looking forward to our next visit. Kindly!
