This restaurant excepts large groups and wAs very accommodating even when we showed up with 2 extra people. Service was a little slow but with a group of 13 they did a great job. They also have a large variety of food choices that made it easy for diverse appetites ranging from vegan, gluten free and 2 picky little girls. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a group
Our food came out lukewarm. They immediately remedied it with a freshly cooked dish and a complimentary dessert.
The dessert was not necessary however appreciated. They were very accommodating and would definitely return again. was delicious!
Food was great. Especially loved the truffle sprouts appetizer
We come to this restaurant once a month. It is great for meeting friends. The food and service is always spectacular.
Good date spot, had an amazing meal and great vibes!
Superb staff members. Each of them is refreshingly positive about her/his work and consistently provides excellent service. The menu is varied, creative and excellent in taste. The interior is open with large windows on each outside wall of the dining rooms.
I strongly recommend the Central Grille for singles, small groups, large groups no matter what the occasion.
I usually have the sand dabs which I've enjoyed. However, I had the beef short ribs this time as I was very hungry. I have never had a meal that was that much over salted. As I said I usually rate the restaurant higher, but either the quality has gone down or it was an off night.
great place to celebrate family birthday with 3 toddlers!!!
Our go-to place when in Glendale.
Food was very tasty and service was attentive, with many staffers helping to deliver the food. Best of all, prices were very reasonable and menu had some good variety.
First visit won't be our last. Convenient large private parking lot behind restaurant and only a block off of the 210. Varied menu that our group of four made good use of; from the 'monster burger' to a veggie salad option. the brussel sprout appetizer was an unusual treat. Superb service from an ever attentive waitress. Our Open Table reservation delivered an excellent booth with no waiting upon arrival, and the hostess anticipated our arrival and warmly greeted us. We all agreed that every aspect of our weekend evening dinner was an absolute winner. We'll be back !
Not a single thing to complain about. The fish & chips is the best in town.
Great quality and very tasty
This place is close to my house so we often walk there. The food and drinks are always great. I don’t think I’ve ever had a negative experience in the 25+ times I’ve eaten here. There is one little thing that irks me. You can only receive happy hour prices if you sit in the bar area. Why? If I’m having a meal with friends early, why do I have to sit at the bar to receive the lower price for the same drink?
They forgot our appetizer. The chicken on the quinoa bowel was dry. The pizza was very good.
Great Happy Hour, some very interesting choices, excellent service in the bar area, we will be back again and again.
Good food and service with reasonable prices. We tried the burger, chicken tortilla soup and fried chicken. All were tasty, well prepared and presented. Highly recommend!
I sent like the option of appetizers could of been a bit better ( dine La option) other than the the meal itself, I got the salmon was very good, in terms of flavor and portions. I go the key lime pie and it was delicious.
every close to home and great dineLA menu - good deal for dinner
the food was pretty DAMN good
- it was good comfort food
It worked out very well, food and service were excellent and I would come back here again.
My husband and I visited Central Grill as part of the Dine L.A. experience.
He ordered the fried chicken, which he thought was cooked nicely, but slightly bland.
I ordered the salmon entree which I enjoyed very much!
We went here before the Enchanted Forest at Descanso Gardens. Two couples and a 12 year old and we all enjoyed our food. Good food to split, pizza, salads, etc. Nothing fancy, but the food was good, easy to park behind the restaurant, prices appropriate.
We had a great meal and great service. It was hard to choose off the menu, everything was so appealing. We would go again!
We were looking for a new place for this years company holiday lunch- saw reviews and looked up the menu to see what type of food they serve. The server Bethany was super attentive and the food was fabulous !!
I have already recommended to several people and will be taking my husband there for date night.
Very coffee shop feeling. Extremely nice waitress, just no coming back to the table and ever checking on us. My mixed drink tasted like a Minute Maid mixture mixed with Vodka... not good.
My hamburger was extremely salty. My husband got the chicken under a brink. Did NOT mention garlic. He didn't like it (but did try to finish it), but smelt like a garlic bomb for 2 days.
Won't go back.
Our server was wonderful. Very helpful with the menu choices, attentive to filling our glasses,
food was very good.
I found the food wonderfully tasty and affordable. They have a small room for parties of 10 - 20 with a bit of privacy off the bar and a larger community room in the back for larger parties or gatherings. The main dining area is well appointed and large enough for a feeling of privacy when dining. The bar has a TV and is set off from the main dining room. Plenty of free parking adjacent to restaurant. Convenient location just north of the 134 on N. Central on a corner for an easy find. Since this is a new restaurant, you should give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
We're repeat diners and are still very satisfied. Great fish & chips and burgers. Good wine list, modestly priced.
We were not sure what to expect, but the food and service was very good. We came back several times over our weekend visit to the area.
I have been going to Central Grille since it opened. Last week I called and left a reservation for ten people. Only five of us were there so we sat in a booth but I noticed a beautifully laid table for ten. Oops, I thought, and within minutes I got a call from the hostess asking if we were still coming. I said, sheepishly, we were there already and in a booth. "No problem, Jamie", she said- "anytime".
I thought that was classy.
We were able to get in, eat dinner and get out in time to get to a performance at the Alex Theater.
We have been dining here regularly since it recently opened. The selection is limited but items are well prepared and nicely plated. I would like it if the vegetable sides were a bit more cooked, right now they are a bit underdone. A weekly special would add little variety for us regulars. Come for the Happy Hours stay for dinner. Try this place, you will like it.
Family get together. Thought it had good options and was a little more upscale than it actually was. Decent food choices but not amazing quality. Anything fried was way over cooked. My salad had 2 tomatoes when I asked for it as an extra topping. The service was good; waitress and staff very patient and polite. We stayed so long that we basically closed the restaurant down talking amongst my family, and they didn’t ask us to leave. We appreciated that. The bar was cute and the homemade kettle chips were probably the only highlight. Probably won’t be back since I live in Sherman Oaks, but I did appreciate the kindness of the staff — a rare thing in SoCal
This was my first time eating at Central Grille. The food and service were very good. I will definitely return.
Very kid friendly. However with the high ceilings and a fairly empty restaurant, the noise level with shrieking running kids was not restful or conducive to conversation.
The brussel spout salad and mashed potatoes are very good. The fried boneless chicken is also very good but very salty. If you are watching your salt intake, you probably want to skip this entry. Corn is a miss; it needs something to make it stand out.
Waitress recommended special of salmon burger which was a very good value and tasted great.
I wish the restaurant had thought to put an entry into restaurant from parking lot for handicapped and seniors in their 80s the walk in is challenging. (a missed opportunity)
Found this place on a whim on Yelp and so happy that Yelp was right for once! Great food, service and overall experience! Came for Sunday Brunch
It looks to me like "Shakers" was remodeled as a "Sports Bar" to appeal to the business people staying at nearby hotels.
I miss the "Neighborhood" appeal and menu of Shakers.
The desserts were the best part of the meal, especially apple boysenberry cobbler was delicious. The crispy truffle Brussel leaves and the braised boneless beef short ribs were very salty. I couldn't eat all of the Brussel since it was too salty and required me to drink a lot of water. Also the leftover braised boneless beef short ribs was given to my dogs for their dinner. We added rice to their meal. I guess the restaurant was short of help. When didn't see our waitress that often. If I go back, I will try something else.
The food was very good. They were nice about making substitions. Did a wonderful job in redoing the restaurant from top toj
The swordfish tacos were excellent. We noticed many of the same menu items that are also available at their sister restaurants, Central Park and Canoe House. There are also many interesting items that are unique to this location. We are looking to coming back to try them.
