This MIGHT be a place to take the family and kids to - but they would need to drop their prices a bit . in all fairness we went there between seasons....maybe the normal chef was on vacation? I don’t normally review but the food was pretty horrible and somehow it had good reviews on Yelp. Wouldn’t go there for a special occasion and I would definitely do more research next time. They either to need to step it up considerably or drop their prices in line with Olive Garden....
Great restaurant!! The food is amazing, especially the wagyu beef dish & the cheese ravioli..
A really dull dinning room - food was uninspiring and lacked quality
Lovely ambiance in the Chateau Hotel. Staff was etremely courteous and efficient. Food was tasteless!
Food was excellent. Hardly anyone there but service was incredibly slow - no idea why. We arrived 15 early and they would not seat us despite the restaurant being very empty.
Interesting menu for adults, solid choices for kids. Great decor & service in a beautiful area
We were the only people in the restaurant. Very mediocre experience.
We dine at Cena on each of our 2 annual trips to Deer Valley. The food is consistently very good,
with fair portions and reasonable prices. The fried clams are always exceptional. The pasta
and seafood are also very good.
From the moment we arrive, I could tell this was not the experience we had hoped for. I booked the reservation a week in advance of our arrival and when we arrived( which was about 10 minutes early) we were told to have a seat and we would be called when our table was ready. We waited 10 minutes beyond our reservation time only to find that when we were seated there were open tables available. The other major disappointment was that my husband and I split a salad and a pizza since they told it was large enough for two. The salad arrived with the other entrees and the pizza arrived well after the others in our party had finished. This put a very negative feeling on the entire dining experience.
The food was good but nothing exceptional. With this experience I would not recommend Cena unless they decide to up their game. I realize the week is a busy time for the area and should not be the reason for providing below average experience.
We tried Cena as it was opened only a year ago and we didn't get there last year while in Park City. The food was incredible...you must try the mushroom soup...delicious!! Our servers were knowledgeable and very nice, but the service was slow and it wasn't very crowded the night we went. I hesitate to see how the kitchen reacts to a crowded night. I would go there again.
We had the sweetest server named Nancy who couldn’t do enough for us. My friend and I are vegetarians and we found plenty of delicious choices. Our favorite! The plentiful side of Brussels sprouts with pancetta - delicious!
Food was average.
The only word I can use is outstanding across the board. Highly recommended
Pleasant server, pretty restaurant, quality of food poor, uninspired. We wanted to like it, but needs an upgrade on food.....
Great location for walking in Silverlake.
This place was terrible. The service was poor and the food was bland.
Appetizers were okay. Veal was like cutting through a rock. Server did not speak very good English, barely checked in on us, left cheese, olive oil and red peppers with no utensils to use them. Very odd.
$85 price fix for Sundance was not worth it
Perfection!
Overall, the food was good. I had grilled branzino, and it was prepared simply with olive oil, which is how I like it. The roasted carrots had a burnt taste to them that I didn't like. My 12 year-old son had the chicken parm, which he said was very good. He could have used a larger portion. My 12-year-old daughter had the flatbread pizza, and she didn't seem to enjoy the crust and left a lot on her plate. Overall, it is a relatively good restaurant if you're staying in Deer Valley. There is underground parking, so it's very convenient.
Serving sizes were ridiculously small for the price. Service mediocre at best. Beautiful setting.
We were very disappointed in the service. Slow, inattentive and uncoordinated. We had a very hard time getting our waiter to even come by the table. Our reservation was for 7:15, but we weren't seated until 7:35. The food was tasty, but rates a "good" because by the time it got to us it was cool. It was busy when we got there but by the time we left (right after finishing our entrees) the place was empty. Not sure what went wrong, but we won't be back.
The food here was delicious! My husband and I were especially surprised with the steak. The service was a bit on the slow side and we had to ask our server for our card back twice.
Went for a meal at 6:15 today (Saturday) and it was a festive mood. Superb service and food at a reasonable price for Deer Valley. Highly recommend.
Great service, good food. We would definitely go again.
A terrific place to spend our wedding night. Delicious food and lovely setting. Gluten-free selection and delicious!
We were seated after waiting 25 minutes with 3/4 of the restaurant empty. Service was SLOW and food was undercooked. Probably the worst chicken Parmesan I've ever had. Would not recommend this place.
Great food at a reasonable price. Service just as great as the food.
Excellent atmosphere, wonderful food quality and presentation. Staff was excellent.
Excellent value for what you pay.
Cena is the restaurant in the Chateaux hotel in Park City. The hotel uses it as its all purpose restaurant. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but the service is very good and the food is credible, if not top notch Italian. The menu is quite limited. We don't know how to rate this against other SLC Italians, but it is not a top tier Italian re the rest of the country. This is one of those very annoying places on Open Table that calls to confirm your reservation even though it has been confirmed on Open Table. This is a ridiculous practice used by only most egotistical of restaurants, and I usually cancel my reservation when they do it, but went ahead this time - although I chewed out the person calling.
Second time dining at Cena. The Italian sodas were amazing, the pizza was delicious, and the flourless cake for dessert. Really hit the spot. Great dining experience
We are in Park City for a couple of months and this restaurant menu looked very good and it turned out to be very nice. We had a cannellini bean crostini with bacon that was outstanding. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese and my wife had a corn ravioli. All were memorable.
Excellent meal. Service was only adequate despite the fact that there were fewer than a dozen diners. Prices were a bit high but average for the area.
We like Cena for the casual atmosphere -- Usually we eat at one of the tables in the
bar area. The food is always very good, in particular the cioppinino, which is ample and
delicious.
Sea Bass was very fishy. Ravioli portion was tiny - only 3 pieces.
Do not recommend.
The service at Cena was first class, very attentive and informative. Nice folks in a relaxed but upscale ski environment. My cioppino was good but very small portion. My wife's Maltagliati was much better both in flavor and portion size, I'll get that next time. Unfortunately, up at Silver Lake there are no "value" propositions, it's all expensive. I understand another hotel is being built, maybe they'll be a reasonable priced Irish Pub! that would be fun
Food just ok
Bread was great
Way too slow
Nice view in window comfortable table
A ski instructor thought this would be a good Italian place for us. We were surprised by the nearly all Asian service staff. The food was okay for Italian but I guess resort food is what it is.
This was quite a hidden gem. The food was excellent. We had the appetizer pizza , the spinach lasagna and some fabulous red wine which paired well with our food. Chief Chris came out to our table and we could not give him enough praise on how good and fresh the overall meal was. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone!! Thank you Cena, Chief Chris and the staff!!
Food was outstanding, but the service was slow. Empty plates lingered on the table, and eye contact was made.
It is in a condo hotel type building. Very good if you are staying by there. Not sure it is worth driving to. All the food was very good except the octopus. It was just ok. We had a pizza along with the octopus for an app, then steak, fish and seafood pasta. Small portions for the price. The bread was very good.
