Food was terrific. Sat outside made it a special night. My complaint was that the waiter was too busy to service our table. My wife got up and got her own drink from the bar.
I love going to Cena as it is off the Atlantic Avenue insanity, has great food, and the people are wonderful. HOWEVER. The bar stools are truly a nightmare. It would be so much fun to sit at the bar if it was not such torture with the impossible, uncomfortable stools. Please change them!!!!
What an amazing experience!
We've been looking for a new restaurant to try but didn't want to go to the typical crowded ones on the Ave. During our quest we came across Cena...
From the moment we walked in until we left we had nothing but attentive, cordial, excellent service. The ambiance is quaint and classy and what topped it off was that the food was just as impressive.
I highly recommend their Artichoke appetizer.
My husband ordered their chicken Marsala and had nothing but rave reviews. I ordered their Seafood special which was equally delicious and a very generous portion. (The prawns looked like lobster it enough for two)
Although I would not consider this a traditional Italian restaurant, I highly recommend it.
Worst food we have ever had on the Ave.. would not go back..
Francesca was incredible and we loved the food first timers and we will be back!
The service was good but the food was nothing extraordinary, specially for what they charge you for it. The place smelled like bathroom.
Staff was very nice. My meal, portion size was normal but the quality and taste was the worst I have had in some time. I had the pork and sausage pasta. The meat was so fatty and bland tasting compared to what sausage can taste like. So not worth the calories. My boyfriend had the pasta pockets, they were fine, small portion but still nothing to write home about. We did not want to risk dessert so we left. Cute place, reminds me of a Key West quaint restaurant. Oh well......
This was our second time dining at Cena in the past few weeks. The Bronzino is one of, if not, the best dishes in Delray. The combination of the fish with the asparagus, baby artichokes and cherry tomatoes in a citrus beurre blanc is absolutely superb. Chef Antonio is a genius. Check it out!
Thank you for a perfectly wonderful experience. Service was exceptional and the food matched that level expectation
The food was very disappointing from the entrée to the dessert. Sitting was very tight and acoustics were terrible making it hard to hear the person next to you.
I've been there twice with great results. The fish is fresh and flavorful, artichokes delicious, fresh pasta dishes and delicious salads. Serving sizes are perfect. Will definitely go back to try more specialty dishes.
This little gem is tucked away on a side street in downtown Delray Beach. We originally went a few months ago for Happy Hour, but the food was so good at the bar, plus we had a great experience with Amber (the employee staffing the bar), so we made a plan to return for dinner. We were so glad that we did! The food moved me to such an extent (I ordered Seafood Fettuccine, which I order often in Restaurants. This was the best I ever ate.), that we asked to meet the chef. He quickly came out to our table. What a nice gesture that was. The pasta is homemade and all is excellent. My husband ordered Branzino, which was wonderful. The pizza that we had for Happy Hour was also amazing. Add the fact that the service could not be better and is authentic Italian, and you've got a truly exceptional experience. You will not be disappointed with Cena.
Best chicken parm we've ever had and truffle risotto was SO GOOD. We'll definitely be back!
Service was great but food was terrible, not as depicted in photos or website. I took my mom here for Mother's Day and we both thought the fish (calamari & shrimp) all tasted frozen. It had good reviews but no flavor to the dishes.
Food was very good and fresh. I would defenatly come back
Overall experience was okay. Not a busy night and staff was very attentive. Food did not live up to the "modern" Italian promised in the restaurant name. Traditional preparations and menu, but tasty with large portions.
Enjoyable dining experience!
Great Italian Food!! Excellent service from Carmine! Can't beat it.
Nice little neighborhood restaurant. I would prefer that they prepared their own pasta from scratch but the food we had (not pasta) was very good.
Their food is so special. Love the flavors. guddos to the chef.
This was our first visit to this delightful little gem of a restaurant in Delray Beach. The food was very good and so was the service. My only negative remark, is that every server and bartender was dressed very professionally except for the hostess. She had shorts and a halter razor back top on. She looked sloppy and it really stood out. .
Absolutely superb from start to finish--we are so pleased to have discovered this hidden gem.
When we arrived for our reservation the restaurant only 1 table was occupied. The hostess took to a table in a corner next to the other people and to the service pantry/ station for restaurant. When we requested a specific table that we have had before we were told it was reserved. When we left 2 hours later the restaurant was still half empty.
I honestly never leave reviews, but we had awful service. Once we got our food, we didn't see our server again. We tried time and time again to wave someone down and we finally got the hostess to get our check. Then it was an ordeal getting our credit card back. Server totally forgot about us and it wasn't even busy.
Beautiful restaurant neighborhood feel fine service excellent food Excellent Wine List reasonable prices.
Ask for al dente pasta or it will be mushy. Waiter was not very professional.
Off of Atlantic Ave, you feel like your a bit more insulated from the hustle and bustle you've come to expect from the Avenue. Cena is always consistent. We especially enjoy dining on the side patio area which is tented and comfortable. Service staff is always exceptional and we've enjoyed the veal parm, the risotto, the calamari and especially their buffalo mozzarella.
I was a happy camper when the chef agreed to make my pasta Diavolo. The seafood was delicious! Lovely server and helpful staff.
Food was ok , waiter left something to be desired, good wine selection. We probably won't be back
First time visit and to be sure it won't be the last!
It's not often we can state the food was as good as grandma's house and in this case it was! Luca was outstanding
Been at Cema twice before food was excellent nice place very good service. But last visit the food was not nearly as good, branzino fish was not prepared well , and tuna portion was very small , value was down a notch. Maybe off night but we were disappointed.
The food is excellent and the service was abominable it took us about an hour dinner appetizer
Francesca is very special and treats her customers like royalty!!! Keeps me coming back!
This was our second visit. It was as good as we remembered from the first time.
great clams casino and scarpariello from Cornish Hen. a real treat
From start to finish everything was top notch! We started with the calamari and clams which were amazing.i had the risotto Gorgonzola that was savory and my friend had the branzino. Service was on point and the wine list is a huge plus! Cena is my new favorite!
Poor service from indifferent waiter, with a reservation maitre d tried to seat us at a horrible table, bad start. Food , pasta very nice. Portions a little small.
Lovely, quiet spot. Wonderful service. I had the snapper piccata it was absolutely delicious. Son had the linguine with clams which I also tasted and it was very good. Caesar salad dressed perfectly not too heavy. Nice wine list. Highly recommend.
Cena was a pleasant surprise. We generally don't venture off Atlantic Ave for dinner when we visit Delray Beach but I'm glad we did. The service was helpful and attentive and the ambiance was nice. We will definitely return.
This restaurant, although charming, was expensive. Wait staff were great. But pasta dishes with small portions should really not be over $25.
