Delly offerings (NY type) were minimal but the hot pastrami and coleslaw sandwich I had was good. Only ate half there and took half home. They were out of Dr Browns diet cream soda. Others had corned beef, which they said was good.
This is a casual place, busy on a Sunday lunch but no line. It has been here, at Loehman's Plaza in Falls Church, for many years. If you want real NY-style offerings, this will do in a pinch but go to NYC. The northern VA area does not seem to have good delicatessen choices.
First time dining for lunch and it was excellent! Our waitress, unfortunately we didn't get her name, was very welcoming and attentive. I ordered the combo half sandwich (roast beef on rye) and soup (matzoh ball) and everything was delish! Never had matzoh ball soup before and the matzoh was airy and light. The soup was your basic chicken noodle that was flavorful and filled my soul. My husband got the Elliot sandwich on rye instead of sourdough bread. He said his was wonderful. Unfortunately their sandwich portions are too big for me so the half sandwich combo is ideal for me; will have to eat off my husband's selection next time to get a taste. Oh and they have an excellent brunch menu that we'll definitely have to try next time.
The greeting when I arrived was rather unwelcoming. I told her I had a reservation (never being there before) and she said okay and then walked away. I eventually took menus from the stand and sat myself. My server greeted me with a smile and was wonderful.
Food is excellent. Service was slow but server was super friendly. Definitely coming back.
Good for families and large groups
Go see Chip, he works Monday - Thursday, most thorough and entertaining waiter, he might even make you laugh a few hundred times. The french dip is spot on, along with the other meal options.
The pastrami and turkey were good. I was disappointed in the brisket, which was dry. The server was very nice and the restaurant was very clean.
I made reservations for 8 people for a Monday lunch at 12:15. As on person had an emergency, we were only 7. Although our waitress was quick to get our beverages, it seemed an eternity before she took our orders and we did not receive our food orders until well after 1 PM. It is true that they were very busy, but since we'd made a reservation we were astonished that people who were seated after us were served and left long before we were. Although the food was excellent, do not go there, even with a reservation, if you expect to not spend a couple hours.
I love this place. I really like the American Breakfast and BLT with egg salad. The breakfast potatoes are awesome. Service is friendly. Coffee is excellent.
The food was good. We both had eggs Benedict - his with the sauce, mine without. Both were very tasty. This is a really cute little cafe. I'd definitely go again.
I enjoy Celebrity Delly often. It's a great local spot to grab breakfast or lunch. The food is good and the service is friendly and fast. Coffee is really good.
Had a great time eating there for an impromptu date. Was craving authentic deli food and managed to find it. Can't recommend this place enough.
Our waiter, Chip, was informative, hospitable and entertaining.
Service and food were both excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was quick. Our Elliot Segal and corned beef sandwiches were excellent.
Took my dad here for Fathers Day and had a great breakfast! Staff was really friendly!
Great for breakfast!
If you're hungry, this is a great place to go. The portion sizes are very generous!
Overall OK, and desserts were very good. Very disappointed in O'sari sandwich I ordered - brisket was tough and fatty - couldn't eat it. Salmon sandwich my friend had was pretty good. Server was very friendly and nice, but he was only one so it took a while to get our menus.
went for brunch. had lox and bagels and coffee with a side of scrambled eggs. every thing was delicious.
Good old time corned beef and pastrami with a knish and Dr. Brown's on the side. Highly recommend. Waiter was pleasant and entertaining as well.
Reliable, huge well prepared sandwiches. Good fries and great service. I love lunch at Celebrity Delly.
I am a fan of Celebrity Delly for lunch, but their breakfast was mediocre. The kitchen also wasn't able to handle getting a party of six the food at the same time. Will not go back before noon.
Food is good, price is reasonable. I liked stuffed cabbage a lot. Knish was goos as well. Matzo ball soup would've been good if minus noodle.
Looks like they redid the inside but I had pastrami and it wasn't as good as it used to be and not as kuch
Immediately greeted by a friendly waiter who brought me a bagel chip (and then another bagel chip after I demolished that one). He also refreshed my club soda once or twice without being asked.
I opted for their "Elliott Segal" - pastrami, cole slaw (a Reuben would have had sauerkraut), swiss cheese and Russian dressing. And when I said I'd like potato salad, he suggested that perhaps I might prefer the fries. So I had a half-and half. The fries were excellent, but then, so was the potato salad.
The sandwich was a little heavy on the grilled butter, but it tasted absolutely awesome. Messy and delicious the way the cheese melted over the pastrami and the tanginess of the cole slaw. Yum, this was terrific.
We went to Celebrity Delly looking for some food reminiscent of New York and that's what we got. Unfortunately, they were out of potato knishes, but the deli sandwiches we got were delish and the waiter was very entertaining. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant for the deli food, but call ahead if there is something specific you plan to order to make sure that they still have it.
