Just a short walk from our B & B, this excellent restaurant is one I would return to on another visit to Napa. We sat in the main dining room, which is where the bar is, and had a nice corner booth. The "outdoor" seating is still protected, but the cold snap (Feb. '18) had us opt for inside. Being right near the river, I'll bet it is wonderful in warmer weather. I had the rack of lamb special; 5 beautiful tender delicious with grilled asparagus. My wife's rigatoni was perfect, except she couldn't save the leftovers for later, as we were leaving in the morning. Our server, Howard, was terrific, and the rest of the staff took great care of us.
This was exactly what we were looking for! Our anniversary dinner was absolutely delicious from start to finish.
Awesome atmosphere, great food and wine! It's a little on the pricey side but worth every penny.
This restaurant was outstanding and the food was delicious! Our server Rafael made sure our needs were met and that our dinner process ran smoothly! I will definitely be back !
Service was great. The patio was cozy as expected. The risotto was disappointing. It was a lobster and shrimp risotto, however the vegetables were the dominant character of the plate. The risotto itself which was lacking in flavor. Out of our party of four, half ordered it. Each party had the same experience. I’d recommend a pass next time.
I treated my wife to lunch on her birthday at this very fine dining restaurant. The ambiance is very nice and the service was exceptional. The food was beautifully prepared and was delightful to enjoy. Onthe particular day that we visited most guest ate in the outside area that was heated by a fireplace but we preferred to eat in the indoor dining room where the seating seemed more comfortable. The wife selection for single glasses of wine was very good but a little pricey. The entrees were in the $25 to $30 range with salads and desserts extra. Parking was convenient across the street and free of charge. We would return to this fine restaurant anytime we are in the Napa area.
We enjoyed the food and will be back!
We were celebrating not only Valentines Day, but also our recent engagement. We had a wonderful time, with wonderful food and wonderful service! The trifecta!
Service - awesome. Some of the best service we’ve had in awhile. Food - good. Petrale Sole was good. Flash Fried Calamari also good. Lobster Risotto, not so good. Bland. No taste to the risotto. And for $38, totally disappointing. Anyway, the experience overall was good. We brought our kids and there is a kids menu here. Great service. Will probably come here again to try the meat dishes, as we came here on Valentine’s Day, which also happened to be Ash Wednesday and did not eat meat.
We’ve heard about Celadon having lived in Napa ourselves, but I was disappointed. I ordered the roast chicken with gnocchi and while the sauce was delicious, there was more gnocchi than chicken, so (at these prices) I felt cheated. Our server, Julie, was extraordinarily helpful and attentive—my generous tip was for her, not at all for the restaurant.
It was Valentines Day and we just wanted a pleasant evening, but we felt rushed as the other table attendants hovered unnecessarily. Given the day, the place was crowded, but we also felt cramped— there was hardly enough room for even Julie to move.
I should say that the berry cheesecake that we had for dessert was the creamiest and most delicious cheesecake I’ve ever had. I don’t know who the pastry chef was that evening, but kudos to her (or him)! It’s too bad the rest of our experience was worth it. There are much better restaurants in Napa. Choose them instead of Celadon.
