Celadon - Napa
I love the pork belly lettuce cups, so I started with those. Then I had the cioppino and it was AMAZING! No room left for dessert...
Excellent Sunday brunch seated by the fire; Omelette of the day was great with side of bacon. Bloody Mary had good taste but the tomato juice was lacking in body.0
I have eaten here a number of times. Ambiance is great and food very good. Rates up there even though there are a lot of good restaurants in Napa.
We came for an anniversary dinner. My wife loved the scallops and they were kind
enough to give us a complimentary glass of champagne.
Long time favorite, always a pleasure to dine @Celedon.
So good, I had the Braised short rib, and my husband had the Lamb ,as you can see nothing but bones added Fries excellent, dessert I had the cream brûlée and my husband had the lemon pie, oh my gosh, everything was so good Wine down to Espresso. Will be back
This was our first time to Celadon but we hope it will not be our last. We had a delicious meal served by an extremely helpful and friendly staff. It was the best meal we had in Napa on this trip. I would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal.
Had a lovely dinner here with excellent service. The ability to taste the featured wines in 3 oz. pours is a nice bonus. Quiet enough to hear your dining companion while still having a lively atmosphere.
Hosted a birthday brunch for 7 in the garden area during a crazy rain storm. Garden was warm and inviting, service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Had many Napa locals at the table who declared they had never thought of going to Celadon for brunch before and now they would enthusiastically go there all the time. Pork belly lettuce cups, the breakfast pot pie, and the coconut shrimp were superb. 5 stars!
Sort of loud but cool environment!
Waitstaff very good. Couldn’t a large party with one woman in particular who was extremely boisterous! Food and service great
Great service, good wine selection, delicious food
Excellent food and service. Me and my girlfriend went for our anniversary and we were not disappointed! The server we had was right on time with anything we needed, the drinks and food we ordered came out with little wait. I had lamb and she had short ribs and it was the best food we've had in a long while.
Beautiful spot along the NAPA riverfront. We chose to sit inside for a more formal experience. Though the outside, covered patio has a great vibe too. We ordered a special- rib eye with morels, sunchokes and hericot verte. The motels were delicious. Steak was tasty, though more medium then medium rare but the overall flavor made up for it. Started with the calamari, a very tasty combo with chili, ginger and a touch of honey. Husband is a vegetarian. He chose a stuffed eggplant that he described as flavorful and a nice break from fish. There’s a nod to Asian and Moroccan flavors in many of the dishes but enough to please many palates. While we enjoyed our experience and have no complaints, Napa is a tough town to shine in the culinary world. So many great restaurants to choose from. Celadon is good and if you’re visiting for a week or longer, check it out.
New Year's Eve. I had the roasted chicken breast but skin (my favorite part) looked crispy but was just fatty and chewy. The chicken was moist. It came with gnocchi which had a pasty texture and stuck to my teeth. My BF had the salmon dinner and said his was very good. They sat us in a far corner where I was staring at the wall and some horrible huge velvet curtain on my right. Definitely not romantic! I'm sure I will not be back.
I am a local and been to Celadon in the past. I was eager to share the restaurant with a friend from Marin for New Years Eve. We were early to our reservation and seated right away. The staff was at our table every three minutes trying to get things moving along. We ordered and our food was out in five minutes. No opportunity to enjoy conversation. It felt like we were being asked to eat our pre prepared food and get out as quick as possible. This was very disconcerting and disappointing.
Very good New Year's Eve dinner. Just a limited in wine by glass selection. Should try to go with a group who can share bottles.
The food was amazing! Definitely the mussels and pork chop is worth trying.
We were a group of four including two vegetarians. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We all shared the brussel sprouts as an appetizer. We ordered it without the bacon and we all found it to be very good although not as good as others places where I have it. I had the entree that they were known for, the Lamb Shank. It was cooked perfectly and it was accompanied by a very delicious raisin and almond couscous. My partner had the double cut pork chop cooked medium. That too was delicious. The portions were so large that we had to take a doggie bag which for me is unusual. The two vegetarians had the butternut squash ravioli and the salmon. Both raved about their dishes. I did taste the salmon and it was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. We ended the night with creme brulee and lemon meringue pie. I was skeptical when the pie arrived as the meringue was huge and thought it would overpower the lemon flavor. Thankfully I was dead wrong. The flavor was well balanced and delicious. The creme brulee was a hit too and the person who ordered said it was the best she ever had which said a lot since that is her favorite dessert. The only negative about the experience was the fact that it was a 21st birthday celebration which I mentioned when I made the reservations and although they provided a candle with the dessert, I am accustomed to a restaurant provide dessert for free to the birthday person. That didn't happen here and was somewhat disappointing. Overall it was a good experience and I will come back especially if I was staying overnight in downtown Napa.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch.
We had the breakfast pot pie as well as the short rib hash. The pot pie was different and too heavy. Flavor was delicious
Our server was very nice and sweet but the young lady who brought our food from the kitchen was ok. She placed our orders on the table and said “enjoy your meal” with her back to us and was already walking away. you know she just said it as per protocol not because she meant it which I felt was kind of rude. At least act like you like your job!
Great outside covered patio. Best Calamari appetizer in the Napa Valley.
Food was just average. Service was outstanding .
Food was good. Ambiance was very nice. Offered free glasses of champagne for anniversary.
The meal was fantastic. My friend had never been and tried the Moroccan Lamb. He loved it! The staff are all so friendly and professional. We had a great time.
Great service, good food and a fun atmosphere. It is a little cold in the winter on the covered patio so bring a jacket if you are being seated out there.
Food was very interesting and the service was professional and timely
We came here with my parents to celebrate our engagement and were treated with such enthusiastic care by the staff, including complimentary champagne for a toast! We all cleaned our plates and loved everything we tried. Our waitress made the perfect wine suggestion and described it to a tee. We would come here again and again for special occasions if we lived closer. As it is, it was VERY worth the scenic drive through the Napa Valley.
We were the last table sat on Christmas Eve. Our reservation was for 8:30 but they were running behind and we didn’t get seated til after 9 pm but the manager comped our corkage and we got free appetizers which was very kind and thoughtful! We will be back!
The service was great. Our server, Mason, was friendly and funny. All apps and entrées were delicious! My only reason for leaving 4 stars instead of 5 was dessert. We ordered the cheesecake and the bread pudding. The cheesecake had a very odd consistency. It was almost like biting into cold toothpaste... I was expecting rich and dense but, yeah, it was just kind of weird. The bread pudding was just ok. Nothing to write home about!
The food was great and the service was the best!!
Our table was slanted so salt\pepper shaker fell over and the table was a bit small for 4 people
food service was good but chicken could have been a little more tasty and tender
portions were good
bathroom situation was terrible (one bathroom for both men\women and this single bathroom was not very clean or decorated well at all. With the prices and reputation of this restaurant, Celadon should have separate bathrooms for men and women and they should be very clean and decorated well like a spa.
1-10 I give Celadon a 7
Lovely spot for a quiet meal with friends. The Service was very good and was the food. Love the garden entrance.
Good food, good service.. All good!
We love Celadon cuisine and atmosphere, whether lunch or dinner. Presentation is beautiful, and the dishes are wonderfully tasty. Specials are delicious, and portions are large. We took extras home, and thoroughly enjoyed the concert at the Uptown afterwards.
Exceptional service. Delicious food. Went there for Sunday Brunch with friends and really enjoyed the Short Rib hash. My friends had crab cakes that were exceptional. Will surely return.
Recommend one of the spots by the fireplace! Great service. Would go again.
Had to send filet mignon back because it was overcooked. Crab cakes and rest of food was satisfactory.
Celadon is an excellent restaurant. Small menu but everything is cooked to perfection.
Calamari appetizer is the very best I ever had. Lamb shank is to die for. Meat falls off the bone.
Good location. Within walking distance to the theaters. I highly recommend this excellent restaurant.
Good overall, service could have been more friendly. Especially the hostess
Food was very good. I'm sure it would have been lovely to sit on the patio. The inside is a little plain, but it was too cold to be outside.
