A quiet night at Cedar was just what the doctor ordered! This friendly basement location is sometimes hopping but this Wednesday night was subdued and we had classic meals (lamb and tenderloin) at the bar prepared exactly to order with sauces and vegetables matched perfectly. Bartender Sean poured a wonderful glass of Cabernet for dinner and whipped up a delicious cappuccino and a well crafted cocktail after dinner. The bread deserves separate mention as the best in town! Serious conversation between us and among others at the bar was stimulating and a welcome change from the yelling required at other venues. A perfect evening! Highly recommended!
Great vegan options, super service.
Very nice restaurant, the staff was very attentive, our food was tasty and creative.
Had a great Valentines Day dinner. Girlfriend is Vegan/Gluten-Free and she was still able to have options (hard to find). Good food and nice people.
Great fast service. Small intimate setting. Low lit. Great date spot. Parking Garage is validated. Great service people.
Very beautiful, cozy place for dates. Very quite and warm. Great seating arrangements and the service was amazing. I would definitely come back again
Cedar is a hidden gem on E-Street. Many walk right by the door that leads to the basement restaurant. It is my favorite spot to eat in DC.
excellent restaurant. Food is amazingly tasty. No TV allows for no distractions. The server was very well acquainted with the menu and The cocktail list.
Staff was exceptional, food was creative and incredibly tasty
I love this restaurant. You have to know where it is to find it and that allows you to have a terrific meal in a quite location. No matter what your food requirements are they can accommodate you.
Very enjoyable— chocolate mouse was too heavy but otherwise meal was excellent.
We went pre theatre for a drink and light fare. Loved the coziness of the bar/restaurant and the ability for quiet conversation. Staff was friendly, responsive and professional. Spinach balls followed by fried oyster sandwiches. Very good mixed drinks and wine choice.
Cedar was fine. We went because its pre-theater menu looked appealing. The service was friendly but a little aloof. The food was tasty and well portioned, but nothing spectacular. The pre-theater meal is a good value, and we will likely go again for the convenience. Our experience overall was fine and standard: solid food and service but nothing to write home about.
we have been to this restaurant several times . It has good food, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices
A peaceful place to enjoy a meal before the hockey game with $5 validated parking close to the arena. The food is delicious, the service attentive but not intrusive. Always a joy to eat here.
We went to Cedar for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed. The Chef had extended restaurant weeks specials so not only did we have a great meal, the price was great as well. My girlfriend and I had the Mahi Mahi special. Super. One of us had the Wild Boar, also very good.
Cedar has a nice variety of comfort foods and wild game. If you go to Cedar plan to spend a relaxed evening in a nice setting with delicious food.
As usual, the food and service was phenomenal! A must for Restaurant Week! Cedar has one of the best menus in DC for Restaurant Week!
The entrance isn't great as it's downstairs and not very easy to see from the street, but the staff is friendly and accommodating and the menu offers plenty of vegetarian/vegan options which is tough to find.
Amazing dinner! the food and atmosphere were awesome.
My restaurant week meal of beet salad, stuffed quail,
and creme brûlée was fabulous and beautifully presented on a decorative plate. Our service was superb. Because each table was filled with lively diners the ambiance was noisy.
