Cedar Creek Inn - San Juan Capistrano
There is fireside dining in the main dining room as well as the tree-shaded patio facing the magnificent San Juan Capistrano Mission.
Dinner: Monday - Thursday: 4:00pm -9:00pm, Friday - Saturday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm, Sunday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
Sunday Brunch: 10:00am - 3:00pm
I amended my reservation from five to eight people and they didn’t get word from you but accommodated is nicely and quickly
Another fabulous time at Cedar Creek. Excellent food, service and a beautiful evening on the patio! Keep up the consistency!
I continue to be amazed by the service of Reuben. He remembers I like cold water, no ice and my friend's salad dressing on the side (which she cannot always remember which salad dress, but Reuben
always remembers and is always friendly, upbeat and thoughtful. Amazing service at a time when service in many restaurants seems to be falling by the wayside.
The setting, the food and Reuben, how perfect can an afternoon be?
Food was scrumptious! Ambiance wonderful with the shade trees on the patio. Couldn't be nicer. Restrooms could use a bit of updating and cleaning. Lots of activity, not enough stalls.
Everything was great. As always I ordered the Ahi Berger for some reason the bun was tough. Like difficult to cut with a knife.
However the Ahi, sprouts, tomato, Swiss cheese and Jalapeño tarter sauce and salad were wonderful.
Looking forward to returning for my favorite sandwich.
Love the patio setting, but there was noice from motorcycles and trucks.
The food and atmosphere is very very nice there!
I would recommend this restaurant to anybody!
the restaurant was great, but they did not have my Open Table reservation. Luckily, they were able to sit us.
Cedar Creek Inn is a great meeting place for our family. We really enjoy their lunch menu, unique choices with a Southern California flavor. Service is always friendly and fast.
We had a great time. Outdoor dining with live music ward a plus. The rack of lamp was amazing and so was the special of pistachio encrusted halibut with banana salsa. The desert top off a perfect evening.
Another great meal at Cedar Creek! Five of us were celebrating my father's 96th birthday. It was a delightful evening with delightful food-always consistent. The patio was wonderful and it always is.
Wonderful, as always. We both had salads due to the extreme heat, and sat inside for a change in order to try and stay cool.
We usually prefer the outdoor seating (I’m hearing impaired), because it’s comfortable, lovely garden atmosphere and acoustically easier for me to hear. With the unseasonably hot weather recently, we were grateful to have the option of being seated indoors. Unfortunately, we were placed next to a very large group of woman celebrating a birthday and the noise level was extreme, I was unable to hear any of the conversation at our table. I usually ask for seating along the perimeter, hoping to be distant from large groups. We all enjoyed a delicious meal, the service was excellent and we were happy not to be sweltering in the garden. The coconut cake continues to amaze and the special peach dessert was fabulous. The ahi on the salads was said to be the best by two guests. Thank you for providing such a wonderful venue in our local area.
I always order the plank salmon. I have never ordered anything else as a frequent guest. It is always superb. But the waitress dissuaded me and suggested I get the halibut, which was a special. Cooked too much and hard on the edges, very disappointing. My wife and sister were happy with their choices. I should have stayed with the salmon.
The setting was beautiful. With our reservation, we were seated on the outdoor patio next to a small fireplace and water. A nice place to have lunch after visiting the mission.
easy access off of the freeway, traditional and cozy, nice menu and good food
parking can be limited
I have been coming here most my adult life and it's always amazing.
Great service. Not rushed. Tasty meals. Outside is wonderful.
This used to be my favorite restaurant. After 3 bad experiences recently, I won't be going back. It's so different from how it used to be. I would guess, it's been sold and they retained the name.
The service is truly awful. The wait staff has had no training at all. It's too bad, it was so good for many years.
First time visit. What a pleasant surprise. Outdoor dining is excellent. Food was really good. We’ll be going back soon!
We have enjoyed dining at Cedar Creek Inn for the past 25 years or so. We particularly enjoy the patio area in the warmer weather. My elderly parents loved eating indoors by the fireplace during the cooler months. We have eaten nearly everything on the menu and enjoyed the wide variety of foods offered. My husband recently had the eggplant sandwich and he felt the eggplant was quite uncooked, to the point, he didn't eat it. However, in all our numerous dining occasions, this is the only time the food has not been up to your typical high standards.
We feel fortunate having such a gem in the neighborhood.
Yowsah! My favorite restaurant never fails to satisfy, especially with the most excellently competent Betty running to and fro from the kitchen, bringing the delectable delights to the table! She is by far my very most favorite server in all my years of eating out and about in Southern California. I am a native So Californian, so you can imagine all the servers that I've come in contact with over the years. She should be teaching a class in service at the CIA, seriously! Always jolly, approachable, never stuck up or snooty, and filled with good suggestions off the menu. I want to take her home with me so she can wait on my husband and me! Whatever she's making, it's not enough. BTW, all the other servers are wonderful as well. Just so happens, I've been lucky enough to be seated in her area more times than other areas. Way to go, Betty......way to go chef!
We had to ask again for the Diet Coke that never came, asked for bread which should have been offered to us with the serving of the water, asked twice to get extra gravy and had to ask for extra place setting
Wonderful spot in the heart of San Juan Capistrano, lovely garden setting. Good food, excellent service. So happy to have such an establishment in the neighborhood. Thank you.
One of our favorite area restaurants. If the weather is nice, be sure to request patio dining. As you gaze across the street, you will see the remnants of the Great Stone Church of Mission San Juan Capistrano. It was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1812, but there is so much history on those grounds! We enjoy many of the salads at lunch as well as good sandwiches. Nice dinner offerings and we always make room for dessert! Our favorites are their Coconut Cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whatever fruit lush is in season, peach or strawberry...its layers of goodness!
Everything was wonderful as always.. I did use open table to book a reservatin the day before, so that we would be assured of a table.. that all went fine, until that afternoon, I got an email from open table stating that I did not show up!! I told the person at the desk that I had a reservation for 2 that I made on open table, she never asked to see it or my last name, so I guess it didnt get logged in... I did email open table back to inform them... other that that.. the experience was excellent!!
Sally was amazing. She let us sit in the bar and have coffee/drinks since we were early for our brunch on Father's Day. Carrie was our waitress and she was great! The service was quick, friendly from start to finish.
Consistent excellent food & service in a lovely ambience.
Great food - great intimate table. Loved our server - Margo.
Food & service were wonderful! Juliette, our server, was very attentive & had a great personality! We will definitely be back!
Been coming here for years and the Jalapeño Jack Pasta is great, lemon drop martinis are the best and the coconut cake you will think you died and went to heaven. Love this place.
Excellent time celebrating with my two friends in such a lovely restaurant. I still think you are a little pricey but would definitely return to try a happy hour.
Last summer we enjoyed our meal so much that I decided to take my husband here for his birthday.
We started off with fried calamari with the jalapeno sauce which was amazing & fried artichoke hearts, that tasted watery like they came out of a can. I ordered the prime rib it was very good .But the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from the day before. My carrots were done well but had no seasoning what so ever. My husband's fish was more wet than firm served with the same mashed potatoes
We did enjoy our ceasar salads the dressing was delicious as were our cocktails. I couldn't say enough about our waitress she was great.
But our meal was very disappointing.
Great staff, quick service, enjoyed late afternoon celebration with family. Staff was very accommodating had a good time!
Another delightful lunch with good food, patio dining and excellent service by Reuben.
Excellent food and service overshadowed by extreme noise from a large group of Harleys attending some kind of gathering at the bar next door. If every weekend occurrence, will not frequent this restaurant.
I have been going to CCI for about 25 years now and love it more each time. My only complaint is that about every third time I go they forget to mark me as being there for OpenTable and they send the "why didn't you go" email, when I always go. This was the case again yesterday even though I asked the gentleman who sat us to make sure he marked us as there.
Enjoyed the patio, service was good, had music, food was good not great
