This is my go to restaurant. I am never disappointed. Everything is fabulous!
First, the food was wonderful! We had cocktails and appetizers (artichoke hearts & popcorn shrimp) in the bar prior to our dinner reservations and all was great!. The hostess was also wonderful...it went slightly downhill from there. She went to seat us and the table for 5 was only set for 4, so we all waited in the center of the dining room feeling silly while they tried to find us a table to fit our group. No big deal, but still odd since they said the table was ready. The waiter must have been having an "off day". We got our entrees (blue crab crusted halibut...delicious!) before our salads (which never came), we were billed incorrect amounts on 2 entrees and he was MIA most of the time. When we pointed out the errors, he looked at us like we had caused the problems. Everyone has those days, but it would have been nice if he simply apologized. I will go back again, however, I will triple check the bill for errors and hope I don't get the same waiter.
Warm friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Excellent selection of food great service and the best desserts.
This is always a good "go to" place for meeting our friends from Orange County because it's half way for them and for us driving up from San Diego. I have never been disappointed whether it has been just a lunch with a girlfriend or, like yesterday, a group of 8 of us for lunch. The decorations for the seasons are always festive, the wait staff is attentive and fun, and the food is always awesome. The desserts are to die for and perfect for sharing. I highly recommend Cedar Creek!
We’ve been coming here as a family for 10 years. Always a great experience. We love the staff like family.
INside, it is cozy and inviting. The outdoor patio is beautiful and my favorite place to dine there during nice weather.
Kind of off the mark on a holiday night. Usually love this place but tonight the meat was overdone, the folding chairs were very uncomfortable, and the waiter was really pushy about ordering appetizers. Still I'll come back because on a less busy night, the food is reliably good and service professional and efficient.
The food and service at CCI is always excellent. This time of year the holiday decorations there are beautiful as well. Our party of 5 each had a different dish and everyone was pleased.
After church wanted place with varied menu, cozy feel, & friendly atmosphere. CedarCreek fit the bill. Food, service and ambiance was very good. We will go back especially in warmer months so we can sit on patio.
The restaurant called 2 days before the date, said they couldn’t honor our reservations. There explanation was that they book by phone while OpenTable is taking online reservations and they only have so many inside tables. However when I booked online it gave me a preference of indoor or out. Of coarse I selected inside, the reservation was for 12-16-2019 6pm, I dought too many people were booking outside seating. After arguing with them , they came up with a 4:30 seating. We were a party of 6 attending a Christmas musical prior to dinner, needless to say that didn’t work. So very disappointed that they really didn’t seem to care.
We had a wonderful time at Cedar Creek Inn the other night. We met friends there from Los Angeles and it is a perfect half-way point! Our server was Claudia (we have had the pleasure of her service before) and as usual, she was superb ! She is incredibly efficient, knowledgable and funny! We had a great time.
Very nice evening!
We got there at 6:30 on a very BUSY Friday evening, but I had reservations, so we were seated right away. We were headed to the Playhouse for an 8 pm performance, so we couldn't just spend hours on our meal. We both ordered salads (easy to prepare) so they came out in less than 10 minutes. We were able to catch up, eat a DELICIOUS meal, and enjoy some coffee before we had to head to the Playhouse. The table was close to the fireplace (but not too close), the waitress did an awesome job taking our orders, and the food was fabulous. We wouldn't have changed anything.
another wonderful birthday celebration on the lovely patio.
Waitstaff Reuben's singing and joking makes a delightful
special birthday. Excellent food and recommendations, excellent
Always good. Love the holiday pie.
I take my daughter in law to Cedar Creek Inn every year for her birthday. Great for happy hour too.
Lovely restaurant. Great service. Very good menu offering something for everyone.
Five of us had dinner at the Cedar Creek Inn on a Sunday evening. A large private event also occurred this evening. As a result, meal service was disappointingly slow. Management compensated by offering us two complementary dessert for sharing among our party of five. The server was attentive and accommodating. The food was good although not exceptional. The ambiance in the dining room is attractive but the noise level was sufficiently high to make quiet conversation difficult. Overall the dining experience was reasonable but not exceptional. The cost for the quality of the experience was reasonable. The Cedar Creek Inn is recommended for a quality, casual dinner but not for a fine dining experience.
Sydney was excellent!!!! Great waitress!!! We will be back
The food is spectacular......portions are large and everything is good! Service is 5 stars....and desserts are wonderful!!!!
We love coming here for special occasions and just for a great meal
Ordered a spinach salad with salmon.
It was overdressed, soggy and turning
black. Salmon was rare inside.
No one asked if things were ok until
my husband had finished.
My half eaten spinach and salmon eaten just around the edges that were cooked through, had been pushed aside. I told the server I was being hospitalized for a surgical procedure next day and was concerned about eating the fish. She asked if I wanted something else, but we did not have time to wait for another meal and wait for me to eat it. She said she would talk to the manager. I was given some bread to eat. She returned with a check which included the $20.00 charge for the spinach salad. I so wish I had taken a picture, but I didn't think to do so.
Decide for yourself.
Our server acknowledged that she should have checked on us much sooner.
I think I want to move into the Mission across the street so I can enjoy all my meals here at this most cozy and lovely restaurant. It is absolutely my favorite all-time restaurant (SoCal coastal native) in the world, seriously! The ambiance of both indoor/outdoor seatings is most excellent. The jolly and very accommodating service of all the staff, but especially my favorites, Betty and O Te Neal, is exemplary and I always look forward to seeing them. The food never fails to please me, or ALL the very many friends I bring here to celebrate their birthdays. Never a word of complaint from our table, nothing but kudos as far as we're concerned. The seasonal decos are always a delight, and I so enjoy being greeted by them just as soon as I enter the door. Christmas is especially beautiful. BTW, if you are handicapped, or use a walker, your driver can drop you off at the side and you can enter through the patio gate. It's very handy and less awkward to leave your walker there. Hats off and many thanks to all at CC.....wishing all my friends a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2019! Love, Joyce
We had a wonderful night. Our waiter made it awesome and we will come back for him. I believe his name was Edgar. He treated us like family and was so attentive. The food was fabulous and will return very soon.
We were a group of five and we had dinner on the patio. All of us were delighted with our food selections. Our waitress was very efficient, but the service, food coming out of the kitchen, was extremely slow. I've eaten here before and the experience is always the same, very slow service!
Nice environment, good ambiance with quality food at a reasonable price point
Service was great - very accommodating. Food was above average but a little pricey. Ambiance on patio gorgeous and the view across to the Mission is beautiful.
Everything was absolutely great until a large group was seated next to us. We were stuck in the back corner so it was very loud. It would have been great if we would have been asked if we would like to relocate. All in all we were very happy with food, service and ambience. Thanks
I love Cedar Creek Inn and was first introduced to the one in Laguna Beach which is now closed. My husband and I come here after Thanksgiving as we love the cozy fireplace and decorations.
However, this time, it was more noisy than usual as a group was sitting next to us and they were loud. Then we noticed the prices had gone up- I get a Monte Cristo sandwich and that alone was $17. Hubby got a salad, which cost the same.
It’s a great restaurant and the food is great, it’s just a little too pricey for us now. Servers kept filling our drinks which was much appreciated.
Just be aware of higher prices- I should have checked online. $52 for a sandwich, a salad, two soft drinks is a little too much. But the ambiance is great😊
Betty, our server, was so fun and quick with our order. She started the whole meal off on a great note. Food was tasty, fresh and plate was appealing. Overall fantastic.
food was excellent and waiter (Nahum) was fantastic
I love this restaurant. Always friendly. Decor for each time of year is beautiful. Will definitely be back!
The food was absolutely outstanding. The rack of lamb I had was probably the best I've ever had. The service was very good. We stayed a long time and the server was accommodating for the whole time we were there. The ambiance is very nice and It is a nice place for any occasion. There are very few options in the area for a good restaurant so I really am glad this is an option.
As usual a wonderful dining experience! We were seated in front of the fireplace and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Our server, who was new to her position, was absolutely splendid. I regret that I do not know her name.
Love to meet my girlfriends here! Sitting outside is so relaxing and the staff so helpful. The food is always on point I’m never disappointed and I order different food every time I go to visit. So if your in San Juan Capistrano try this wonderful restaurant and walk around this lovely town!
Quality experience highlighted by nice ambiance and tasty food
Our group of 4 enjoyed the patio... very busy and noisy, but the weather was lovely and service was good. We had a terrific waitress, accommodated splitting the bill with a good sense of humor. The food was good, not excellent, but good.
Overpriced for the quality of the food.
I love this restaurant and the location. I miss both the Laguna Beach and Laguna Niguel locations. I was a regular. Now I go between San Juan and Brea to enjoy this restaurant.
We made reservations for 1pm lunch indoors to follow our planned visit to the Mission San Juan Capistrano just across the street. Since the weather was so beautiful, I stopped in prior to going to the Mission and requested to change our reservation to "outdoors" on the patio. The receptionist had no record of my reservation despite my having received a confirmation email from OpenTable.
We obtain a perfect table for two on the patio when we arrived. Our server was very sweet, attentive, and eager to please (although she did not bring one requested side condiments with our meal). My dining partner's French Dip Sandwich was "good" but nothing to celebrate. My Salmon Spinach Salad with fresh dill, red grapes, bacon, goat cheese, green onion, oranges, and strawberries tossed with a red wine vinaigrette was absolutely delicious!
I will happily return to Cedar Creek Inn in the future.
My favorite place in s orange c. Great selection plus desserts like the warm coconut cake😍 the patio is so out door Ca.
Just great tasting food .
