Cedar Creek Inn - Brea Ratings and Reviews
I took my assistant to Cedar Creek Inn for our holiday dinner. We had a reservation at 7pm. We arrived at 6:55pm and were told that other diners were taking longer at their tables than expected and there would be a wait. We were not seated until 7:20pm. That was the only bad part of our time at Cedar Creek Inn.
Our server was a gentleman by the name of Thom. Thom was WONDERFUL! He came to our table within 5 minutes if not less of us being seated. He got our drink order, told us the special was the grilled sword fish, then went to get our drinks. He came back quickly with our drinks, then took our order. We got the Appetizer Sampler to share, that plate can be eaten as a meal all by itself, it was so big! We both ordered the surf and turf or land and sea...? Can’t remember what it’s called, with the house salad. Our food was delicious all the way around. The kitchen was super on top of things. Our appetizer sampler came out fairly quickly, there was no “lul” between the appetizers to the salads to the entree. Thom made sure our glasses were never empty for too long, if at all. He gave us time to eat our food and to chat. We never felt rushed during our meal. He brought out boxes for us when we started showing down our eating. When asked about the dessert options, he gave an honest opinion, which was greatly appreciated. He even took note when my assistant looked like she wasn’t able to finish her cheesecake, and brought another to go box for her to box that up. All without being asked.
Over-all, other than not getting our table at the time it was reserved for, it was a wonderful night. Thanks to Thom and the rest of the Cedar Creek staff! We will be back again. Happy holidays.
Friendly staff, menu had a few unique choices among the standard fare. Dinner entree pricing was reasonable since menu item includes a salad or soup and sides. Bar selection and drinks were good. Noise level in bar was quite high and some of the noise drifted into dining room. Overall it was a great experience and we will return.
We had four in our party for this dine out night with friends. The food was very good and we had excellent service. My Wife had the sea bass and I had the strip steak... both were excellent. I’d certainly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good dinner at a reasonable price. They also have a piano bar area for after dinner drinks and socializing.
Very good food - loved the prawns and spouse loved the sea bass, friends had the meatloaf. Hummus appetizer was spicy for hummus but in a good way . Wait staff was prompt and continually refilled glasses. One server was a bit annoying...would break into our conversations loudly and often. Overall experience was very nice and food tasty.
We have eaten at this restaurant for years on Thanksgiving day, special occasions, birthdays, etc. we had a very poor experience this past Thanksgiving day with our party of five. We were told when we checked in that OpenTable had assigned us our table and the manager was unable to move us without a long wait. Then when we finally did get seated, it took one hour for our food to come to the table. We will not be back anytime soon.
We dine at Cedar Creek Inn in Brea often, but this was the first time we went there for Thanksgiving. Can’t praise the restaurant and the food enough!!! We were seated right away, they honored our reservation request for a booth and the table was perfect for an intimate meal with my spouse. The Thanksgiving menu was well thought out, the food was beyond delicious and the table service was superb!! The pumpkin pie was outstanding and like none that we had ever had before. It seemed to have pudding or custard in it. Whatever the nuance, we liked it so much that we bought some to take home!! A wonderful Thanksgiving meal for us.
Nice place for a casual lunch or dinner. We have been there twice, once for lunch and then again for dinner. Try the coconut cake with the vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. This is a special occasion place for my wife and I. The menu is not huge but does have a good variety. Food and service is always good.
The restaurant was VERY crowded, so was noisier than usual. We have been here more than a few times, so were not surprised. We were disappointed by the food (and the service was slower than usual) - my cedar plank salmon was over-sauced, and the flavor was appealing. My husband’s shrimp just didn’t taste good. We are chalking it up to the busy-ness, though, and will certainly give it another try.
Our server Miguel was nice and accommodating. We were celebrating our Anniversary. The food was great. Love the bread basket with Foccacia, best Tomato Basil soup I’ve had. The house salad had more than just your usual croutons in it.
Hubby had Prime Rub prepared as requested, the Au jus was delish as was the horseradish.
I had Pot Roast which was nicely prepared.
Can’t wait to bring friends here to listen to the entertainment.
Little disappointed. The Calamari is always the bomb there. My wife’s filet mignot was oddly cut in half and made her sick. Not sure what happened there. Service was not up to par that evening. Not sure if it was a fluke..but I prefer better linen table service for that price.
This was without a doubt the BEST Prime Rib I have had - anywhere! My wife's halibut was equally perfection. Our server, Beth was outstanding. She was extremely busy, but never did we have to flag her down. I will definitely ask for her again the next time. Great food and service!!!
Six of us dined here on a Saturday night. Our table was ready when we arrived. We informed our waiter that we had tickets to a play that evening, and he and his trainee ensured we had prompt service. I shared the rack of lamb with a friend, and there was ample food to enjoy. The lamb was delicious and prepared as requested. We found the service and ambiance to be delightful. There were ample wines by the glass to choose from, as well. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.
Last night was not the first time I have visited Cedar Creek. And once again, I was thoroughly impressed with everything about the restaurant. The waiter was charming and very attentive but not annoyingly so. The food (filet mignon and braised short ribs) was perfection. And as this was a birthday celebration Cedar Creek provided a special dessert with a candle. I recommend the restaurant for any occasion...you will not be disappointed.
