Cedar Creek Grille Ratings and Reviews
A friend and I met here on a Wednesday for a private holiday get-together. We have met here before. It's an hour drive for each of us, and Cedar Creek Grille sits halfway between our homes. It is well worth the drive. Although I arrived early, our table was ready. My friend arrived a little late but that was no problem for the staff. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. The food was quite good, well-prepared and well-presented. Max was our server; he did a fine job.
Usually I have great things to say about this restaurant, but last night was not the case. We had reservations at 7pm for 8. We didn’t get our drink orders in until 7:50pm. The waiter, although very nice, seemed completely overwhelmed. It was so loud that you couldn’t speak without yelling. Our food finally arrived at 9pm and it wasn’t up to par. Needless to say, we were very disappointed.
This was my first time visiting the Cedar Creek Grille, and I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful everything was at this restaurant. I had read some of the reviews which mentioned the service, but wanted to try it anyway, and I am glad I did.
Friday night, very crowded. I had made a reservation for six (recommended) so we were seated right away. Our waiter, Dave, came over promptly to our table to take our drink orders. He returned in a few minutes, and then took our food orders. Although we were engaged in lively conversation, our food came back within 15-20 minutes. Everything we ordered was delicious and well seasoned. Dave checked on us a few times even though we could see that he was very busy.
As we glanced around, there were multiple areas in which to have your meal (by the fireplace, in a draped section up front, privately, etc.).
I would put this restaurant on your list to visit. It is easy to locate (corner of Richmond Rd and Cedar Rd.), and although parking was a challenge perhaps due to it being a Friday evening, we did find parking and had to walk just a short distance to the restaurant.
I will be back.
I love the food and service at this restaurant. I hate the acoustics. It is virtually impossible to hold a thoughtful conversation while eating here after 6:00 pm in the main room. I am not sure how they can address this issue, but it limits the times I will be eating there.
This sentiment was shared by all four people in our party.
Just wanted to stop out and grab a bite. Needed a cocktail. Server came by and poured water without making eye contact. We were ready to order drinks, but he was off while I said we are wanting to order drinks. Then he disappeared. We were just talking about not being able to order drinks and another server asked us what we wanted then they showed up. Server was disinterested. Salad and burger were good. Food came out quickly and fries and burgers were hot.
Similar to others experiences, we didn’t have a great waiter at all. He didn’t show up after we were seated for at least 10 mins, maybe closer to 15. When he finally did, he didn’t greet us or welcome us just poured water and asked for drink orders. Didn’t apologize for how long we had to wait for him to come over either. It took another 10 mins to get pop to drink and 1 beer for our table of 4. He was about to walk away and my friend said, wait we want to order. He took our order and walked away. He proceeded to stand up at the bar and chit chat most of the time and someone else brought out our salads and a soup. We asked for more water and bread, she said she’d let our server know. He didn’t return after 5-10 more mins. Finally he came back and said nothing to us, didn’t ask how our salads were, NOTHING. He poured half a glass of water for my friend and set the carafe on the table and left with no other words. After that my friend got up and spoke to the GM to complain about our experience. Rather than giving us a new server, we had the same server now fresh off getting feedback from us via his GM. He didn’t speak to us at all. I can’t believe the GM just didn’t give us a new waiter to be honest. The only thing he said to us was “do you want 1 check or 2 for the table?” It was really the worst service I have had anywhere. The food was good, not great. Filet was tender, potatoes could have been creamier. Others at the table liked the food for the most part. My friend got the GM and told her nothing really got better with him after she spoke to him and asked what they could do on the bills. The GM apologized a lot but mentioned a lot of people come to the place from the area. She tried to offer us free dessert but we didn’t want to sit there another minute so she took money off both our bills and wished us a good holiday and asked us to give them another try. We said sorry, but we won’t be back. Disappointing experience.
My meal was good. The server however stopped by constantly to check on us. Great service went downhill when the server took away my plate and asked me if I was finished eating while buttering bread. Also, we were given our check without asking. Had the server asked he would’ve known that we needed separate checks. Not sure I’ll be back as this isn’t one of my favorite restaurants.
While the food is consistently good, and the service at the table very good, I never appreciate a hostess with attitude. In fact, I really really can't stand that the hostess is unhelpful and snotty, when the really hardworking servers and kitchen staff are working so hard.
I absolutely LOVE the ambiance! They gladly accommodated my late reservations for a large party and the change of part size at the last minute. The staff was amazing. Our waitress stated she had been there since the opening and was able to help a member of my party to identify a dish she had previously. I love it here, and will be returning soon!
I really enjoy dining here, but this time, everything was lacking... our service was very slow, and we needed to ask our server several times about where our drinks and bottle of wine were.. had to flag him down to order our apps and entrees.. he seemed very distracted and unfocused. I’ll keep dining here, but the lack of service was just a disappointment.
We were greeted by a multitude of front desk personnel; one whose upper body was lying on the front desk. It was VERY noisy and busy Friday night. Noisy to the point that our party hardly spoke to each other as we couldn't converse well. Service by Angela was not very good. She took a while to get to our table, had to find out what the grape blend was of the wine and took over 10 minutes to get our daughter her milk and it took about 15 minutes to get our bottle of wine. (Which ended up being a private label of a Chinese chain! It was delicious.) We had Ribeye (had been ordered medium, was delivered rare with barely warm French fries), Roasted Chicken and Kid's Pasta with meatball. By the time the Ribeye came back after being cooked to the proper temperature everyone else was done. Due to slow service we didn't have time for dessert.
Our first time dining here. When we arrived, pleased with decor & atmosphere. After being seated, all others around us were seated & began service except us. We had to see the hostess after waiting 10 min. After that, brunch menu was nice, we enjoyed our selections, yet all out of a drink I ordered. Good portion sizes. Think we'll be back to give a 2nd try.
Good food; variety on menu; friendly and courteous waiter Very accommodating. It was a Sat evening and they were extremely busy but the waiter did a great job in spite of the crowd and noise. We did find the noise level very high -- and sometimes disturbing -- could barely hear the waiter and my guest. I'll go again at a different time and day to get a better sense of the ambiance without such a crowd.
