   We had afternoon tea, which is served on Thursday and Friday afternoons. The space is airy and light, but full of hard surfaces so noise was greater than you might expect, but there was live piano music. The food was already on the tables before people were seated, and was not appealingly presented. There were two of us, and two of each type of bread, sandwich, and sweet served on overly large plates on the four serving tiers. Scones and crumpets were both cold, and the crumpets and a mini-muffin were both undercooked. One inch square tea sandwiches were underfilled, on lightly toasted bread - which just seemed dried out. Macarons were also underfilled and without much flavor. By far the strangest thing was how the tea itself was served. The table received a large pot of hot water, while each person was provided an open tea strainer (the type used to catch loose tea as it is poured from the pot) with a teaspoon of our choice of tea. It is not possible to brew a decent cup of tea from a shallow strainer perched on the top of a cup. The wait staff were great about bringing additional tea and hot water when asked, it didn't improve the quality of the brew. The wait staff was lovely, and the food had potential to be delicious and interesting, but was not well executed or presented. Overall, it seemed as if 'afternoon tea' is just way to make money without real effort at excellence on the part of the establishment. It was the most expensive and least satisfying tea service that I have experienced.

   This restaurant should not take reservations past 1:30pm when they close at 2pm. We were greeted with annoyance, telling us we had 7 minutes to order to get it in prior to the kitchen closing, felt rushed to eat as the waiter kept checking to see if we were done.

   First time dinning in Cedar elm and it was a fantastic experience. Atmosphere was really good so as the service and food. Relax dinning out experience out of all the busyness since it was isolated place inside st Edward’s state park. There is so much else to do around once you are done with your meal. For example, small little hikes and there is a large children’s play ground if you have small kids.

   I’d been here before years ago but this time it was very sterile and so sad. Our waiter was abrupt and had no personality didn’t even introduce himself. It was really bad . He rushed us and then was just cold

   This is our 6th time at the Lodge. All agreed our meals were the best we have ever had at the Lodge. We wanted to compliment the chef's pick of foods. Our server was so kind and helpful. She made our birthday celebration special.

   The food was delicious and the setting was very relaxing. Not a huge fan of the LED lighting though.
