Ceci Italian Restaurant
Excellent service, quick and delicious. Will definitely return
I go to a lot of Italian restaurants in NYC, but I always wind up returning to Ceci. The food is delicious. The place is intimate. The staff is wonderful. Really love this place.
Very informal Italian fare
This is a hidden gem for lunch or pre theater dinner. The food was delicious and the menu has something for everyone's diet preference.
My wife and I love Ceci's! We decided to move to New York while eating here and it's become one of our regular restaurants. We flew mom into New York for her 50th birthday and brought her here for her birthday dinner. The staff is amazing. The food is some of the best in town. Come in for a great wine selection and better food!
Ceci offers great value for mid-town Manhattan, close walk from Times Square, the theatre district, and Rockefeller Center. We had a party of six for around 7 pm on a Saturday. While waiting for the rest of the party, I enjoyed a drink at the bar. The friendly bartender made me a lemon-basil martini and it was one of the best I've ever had - refreshing and not too sweet.
The restaurant appeared small, noisy and crowded, but we were pleasantly surprised to be led to a spacious and quiet basement dining area. The food was very good - our party had fried calamari and steamed mussels as appetizers, followed by risotto funghi, linguini vongole, rigatoni pollo, and lobster ravioli. The portions were generous and enjoyed by everyone.
We enjoyed our meal however the service left a lot to be desired. The main dish was served to all but one in our party and after about 7 minutes it was served...a very under done steak ( almost raw, ordered medium rare). It was sent back and we waited again more like 10 minutes. Everyone else was finished while we waited for our friend to eat.
Love love love this establishment. Food is made fresh and always good. Never disappointed!
The food and service were good. The very loud radio station with commercials every 5-7 minutes ruined the ambiance of a nice Italian and wine dinner.
Lovely. The waitstaff was professional and attentive.
Everything about Ceci's was terrific. Service was wonderful. Did not rush us through dinner. We had a party of 8 and we were able to talk without having to shout. This was our first time here and we look forward to going back.
It was my sister’s 30th birthday celebration!
Every time we are in New York City we make a point to dine at Ceci. The food and wait staff is fantastic. If you don’t dine here you missed out.
We were a party of 12 and they we able to accommodate us, which was amazing. We were in the wine cellar and it felt like a private room. Everyone loved the food. The servers were attentive and quick. The prices aren’t “cheap” but very reasonable for Midtown. The portion were also pretty large. All around an excellent choice.
Great place for dinner with friends. Delicious food and good service. Will definitely go back.
Nice - that's what I'd say. Ceci is a bit out of the way but it's worth the short walk. Smaller than some of the Times Square mega restaurants. It wasn't that busy but the clients seemed to span from a family with a couple of small kids to an older couple. The food was very tasty. I was a bit jealous of my wife's osso buco but my veal was spot on. The price was great, especially for NYC.
I'd go back next time I'm in the neighborhood.
The put us in the “wine” cellar which just seemed like a basement. Food was uneven. Waiter was good. Not horrible but there are so many great places in NY. This falls short
My wife is complaining about the risotto not correctly done. No taste and not starchy enough. Risotto should be cook slowly to get the starch out. Very disappointed.
Staff was amazing and attentive. Menu selections had a wide variety of anything you may want in an Italian restaurant. Food was the best I had during my five day visit. Found the place by accident. Glad I did.
Came here after seeing a matinee. Food was wonderful Served by attentive staff.
Food was good value for the price. Nice quaint little restaurant
Had reservations. We were seated immediately. It was 5pm. Asst brought bread which was warm and poured our water. Waiter greeted us and took drink order. I had flounder in a wine butter sauce w mixed veggies. My DH had veal Milanese. Both dishes were excellent.
We’ve dined here previously and will return when we’re in the area
Very nice authentic Italian restaurant for a business meal (or casual). Food was excellent and the service even better.
Chicken looked & tasted like a frozen patty. Waiter was not very attentive.
Wine list limited and the wines offered were high priced.
Caesar salad was good. No complaints.
I had spaghetti with white clam sauce. Boxed spaghetti, some oil and garlic and 5 clams!! Yes, no clams in the sauce. Portions were small. Bill for 3 people came to $240!!
This is a favorite place of ours when we are back in NY to visit. The food and service are both amazing! Ask to sit downstairs in the wine cellar, super cool and very quiet!!
Everything was OK. Pre-theater but East side to avoid Time Square craziness. Solid option but not special.
2nd time - this place is awesome especially for GS people like us
Waitstaff were very attentive and when our bread basket arrived with warm hearty bread I was excited for what dinner would bring. It was ok. I ordered the mushroom risotto. It was on the bland side and I had to add quite a bit of salt. Dining companion had the gnocchi which was ok if a bit gummy.
Nice and quiet. Great food!
Booked at short notice. The tram were very accommodating, food was tasty and filling, wine was good. Overall happy with our last minute booking
Food was delicious. Waiters were very attentive and pleasant.
Booked on open table but wasn’t sure what it was going to be like when we arrived and saw the outside. Much nicer inside though!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Ceci’s, especially their ability to meet gf needs. Yum!
Nice lunch stop for my wife and I. I enjoyed a very tasty chicken parmesan with a Caesar salad. She had a chicken Meunière but was not as happy as it was really light on the sauce. She is a big fan of Chicken Piccata and this appeared to be their version. It was ok, but didn’t really meet her standards. However, I loved my dish.
Very reasonably-priced Italian food and absolutely perfect location for Broadway theatre. It felt like a friendly family-restaurant. We all enjoyed our dishes and everything was just fine. The cheesecake was a great addition at the end of the meal, as well as the chocolate cake that we all shared.
Had a dinner with work colleagues. we were able to have a conversation at a normal tone without any difficulty. The wine selection and food were good.
We eat gluten sensitive and the the menu was PACKED with real GS options. We even had warm GF bread. Food was great. Service great. The perfect little Italian restaurant- we will be returning
Good Italian food in a small restaurant with friendly atmosphere.
Will return there!
So nice to find a quaint, cozy restaurant in Mid-town, with real Italian food and ambiance. Ceci was an excellent choice for our group of 5 - something for everyone and all of it delicious!
