Great place, great food, live music outside on Saturday night.
So, I made reservations for me and my wife on Saturday the 20th at 6:45. We get there at around 6:40 and they have live music outside which is so loud you can’t even hear yourself think. We go inside and tell the waitress that we have reservations but with the mask on and music at concert level idk what he heard. So, we get seated and we’re sitting down and another couple comes in. The waitress addresses the couple and looks at us. She then proceeds to come to us and says “are you Danny?” I replied “no” she said “well they have reservations” insinuating we did not. Again, this is all going on with concert level music and masks so it’s impossible to hear anything. She asks us to stand up so this couple can come and sit down and tells us the couple seated next to us is just about to order desert and they should be done shortly(they weren’t even close to finished). So we get up and go stand back in the waiting area, pretty embarrassed I might add. As we are standing there in this area big enough for 1 person, another couple walks in. They have reservations too and stand there in this waiting area big enough for 1 person (which is now 4) for about 15 minutes. Every time someone would come inside and open the door you got destroyed with volume 10 music. So, we left and honestly we don’t know if we will return after that.
I am not talking badly about the food, or the establishment itself. And normally I don’t complain about anything. This was just embarrassing for me and my wife. And the fact that we had reservations and still was asked to get up was pretty frustrating.
Cebollines in Lindenhurst is a definite hit with me. The food is always spectacular and the drinks are outstanding. It doesn't look like much because it's just a small restaurant in a strip mall, but the outdoor dining tent is warm and cozy and the interior is decorated beautifully. The most important thing is the food and I have yet to order anything that I didn't love. The salmon and black bean sauce in particular are amazing. They give chips and salsa at the table while you check your menus for lunch, dinner, and/or drinks. The service is very friendly and super fast. They recently added brunch to their menu, with bottomless mimosas!
My husband and I have had dinner at Cebollines Grill five times since they opened. We've dined alone and with friends and every time we have not been disappointed. The service is excellent, we always feel welcomed and attended to. The food is exceptional. I tell everyone about this place because I want them to stick around. Opening right before the covid outbreak was unfortunate. But as I said I think it's an excellent addition to the Lindenhurst community. I'm so glad that they are still around and thriving. We will be visiting again soon.
We made reservations through this app, showed up to the restaurant and it was closed.
