Honestly the best Turkish food I have ever had, and I have traveled to Turkey. I am not being melodramatic by saying every single thing we ate was amazing and the best I have ever had. The beyti kabob was so tender and flavorful; the grape leaves were obviously made by them, seasoned so well and not just purchased from a can like so many other places do; I never had lahmajun before but it was so crisp and perfectly made; I loved the manti and am excited to try the vegetarian version next time; and everything was so good we even decided to try the baklava cheesecake even though we were stuffed and not surprisingly it was also amazing!
Very nice meal and service. Dined upstairs and loved the extra space.
This established was excellent. From the decor, to the service, to the food. Start to finish. The Turkish beer was great. We had the lunch special and it was great. Price point was excellent. Can't wait to go back.
Great experience! Waiter was hilarious
Great food and service. Love the traditional food and decor as well.
We love this place. The lamb chops are excellent! All the food the excellent! And you can get happy hour deals at the table.
Delicious! We had the Sultan's platter for 2. It was a sample of many things on the menu. We took some home because there was so much. The waitress was sweet.
My wife and I spent the evening at this "magnificent" restaurant.
The staff were extraordinary from the moment we made our reservation change, walked in and until the moment we departed. TRULY EXTRAORDINARY.
The food was astounding. I've spent much time in Turkey and found this restaurant to be as authentic as being in Istanbul, Izmir or Ankara or any other place in Turkey. Remarkable. And to top it off, on they had an authentic belly dancer entertain the entire restaurant and again made me feel like I was back in Turkey many years ago.
I had the lamb chops that were the most tender the most flavorful the most tasteful lamb chops I'd ever had anywhere in any restaurant in the United States. Hats off to the entire staff Chef for a wonderful evening and we thank you all
This was our first time to Cazbar. We really wanted to like it but it just fell flat. Our server was very nice, appetizers were ok except for the stuffed grape leaves which seemed like they could have been canned, the main meal was unimpressive. We did expect a lot better for almost $100 for just the 2 of us.
Wonderful experience. Dining room is cozy, romantically lit and well decorated. Wait staff is pleasant and helpful. We had lamb, pumpkin soup and spinach filled pasta. It was all excellent. While we were there, we were entertained by a talented belly dancer. Fun evening. Highly recommended
Oh, such deliciousness! The lamb moussaka was oh so yummy! My date's entree was equally good, although I don't remember what he had. The house made ginger tea was the perfect ending to the meal. They were understaffed for Valentine's weekend, but certainly wasn't the fault of the server nor the kitchen. Despite the delays with our food, we still got to our show by the 8pm curtain. We will be back...it's our new favorite!
We first went to the Hippodrome to see a show and were looking for a place to eat after the show was over. We did a Google search and happened to come across Cazbar. The website looked really nice and the food looked amazing in the pictures. We had never really been to a Turkish Restaurant before and we like trying new things. From the moment we walked into Cazbar the hostess and waitress were amazing. They are very attentive and seemed to really care you were there. The food was just how it looked online....amazing. I got the fried Calamari for an appetizer and the Lamb 3 Ways for the entree. The lamb was so delicious and juicy. My wife and I will be coming again for sure....next time after 9:00pm on a Friday or Saturday to check out the belly dancers LOL. Highly recommend this place for future diners.
Cazbar never disappoints. Our group regularly dines here before performances at Center Stage. A table filled with mezze and reasonably priced champagne always kicks the evening off in a festive way. The group contains vegetarians and carnivores, and Cazbar's menu has plenty of options for everyone. Highly recommend.
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Baltimore. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The food is always memorable, the drinks are refreshing and the service is reliably great. I prefer making reservations on evenings that belly dancers are performing so the noise level gets a little high with the music but it’s well worth it.
This place is such a gem. We always get excellent attentive service, and the food is fantastic. We had a table of four and shared four plates and some starters, and each one had it's own distinct flavor profile. The mixed grill is a steal, and one of the best med mixed grills I've had. You really need to give this place a shot. Also love the decor.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience the splendor of authentic Turkish cuisine. However, because the prices aren't low, I specifically recommend that you go there for lunch and Ottoman 3-course lunch. That way you get to try several delicious dishes for $15.00. Plus, if you add $2.00 you get tea and a piece of Baklava. That is a pretty good deal.
I do have to say that Baklava is not that great at Cazbar. The philo layers are all pressed into one thich layer and are hard to chew on.
I introduce my Wife to Turkish food here and she is very picky and she loved it. The staff is happy to explain the specialties to you! Will come back again and again!
As always, the food was very good and the service outstanding. My wife was not fond of an appetizer she decided to try and they just replaced it with another choice of hers. No fuss, no problem.
Great food, not too expensive. I would definitely recommend. Great atmosphere!
well. the sultan dish was a bit of a disappointment. First the waiter said that sultan dish for one is enough. then we found out it was for two, and $80 later we received the dish. It had too much chicken for an $80 DISH SHRIMP WAS DRY AND inedible, and the one and lonely lamb squire was also dry. The first courses were good, and desert was fine.
Would have been a higher rating, but service is poor (2nd time we have been there, and service was poor both times). Food is outstanding.
BUSE, our waitress, is fab, your food is fab, your ambiance is great , the service is wonderful and we love your restaurant!
We are so happy that Buse has become Manager; she certainly deserves it. She knows exactly what to order for us when we come in, she brings us everything piping hot and made to order and we enjoy our meal each and every time. We have brought friends and they also love it. Many have continued and become repeat customers. Keep up the great work! we will be back soon.
It was New Years Eve with limited menu. It was great though albeit pricey. We had a good time, great service & everyone enjoyed their meals!
DC natives
First time there. Wonderful food and great service!
Great lunch menu and atmosphere. Only flaw was my friend ordered a vegan entree and got a meat sauce—new waitstaff and didn’t seem to understand.
Great place with great food. Really enjoyed with my family.
Delicious food and awesome drinks. As usual!
Dinner before the Peabody Jazz Ensemble Concert with friends. Really enjoyable dining experience with a variety of choices on the menu. Looking forward to going back.
I think the food was very good and of excellent quality. The service, however was very slow but, when it arrived, was very friendly. I did not at all appreciate the gratuity on a party of five for no reason whatsoever. It’s as if they know that their service is so bad that they are going to grat folks upfront regardless of the size of the party. It is for that reason that we are probably not going to be going back, which is a shame because the meal was pretty good.
We’ve been to the Cazbar in Columbia several times, and we really enjoyed everything that we ordered. The same is true at this Baltimore location, but the only difference is that this location as much noisier than Columbia and that made it very difficult to communicate with the friend that we were visiting with. To repeat, food was excellent, noise was distracting.
Amazing meze options and perfectly cooked lamb!
Every dish was generous and delicious. Just walking in the door and smelling the wonderful aroma was mouth-watering.
A bit disappointed with this visit....we have eaten there before and had a great meal but this was not the same. Serve was NOT attentive at all...no bread offered or drink refills offered. Food was a little on the dry side.
It was really good!
We were disappointed that the belly dancers only before at 9pm. It is not clearly stated on the website, you have to read reviews to know that. Service was slow and he had zero personality. Was cool to use the tablets as the menu to see the pictures, but we felt rushed.
We dined here for my moms birthday and thought the belly dancing would be a nice change of pace. The tables are a bit small. My food was good (iskander). My mom and husband got a combination dinner with lamb chops, kebabs, chicken...). It was all quite over cooked. Since it was my moms birthday I asked the waiter to exchange her kebab for a new one. He proceeded to tell me that since they had just seated a large party upstairs that the kitchen could not handle the request!!! I told him he needed to go ask his manager, and about 20 minutes later he brought the new kebab. We were done eating at that point. Also, he never asked what side we each wanted and proceeded to just bring rice. He was also incredibly slow. Maybe it was his first night?!? As for the belly dancing, it was nice for the 5 minutes that they did it. I might try again since I love Turkish good and forgot to use my groupon.
