We booked a reservation with Cayo Blanco for 7pm. The server came to greet us and walk us to our table. It’s a small intimate setting 8-10 tables. We started with the spicy calamari & Fish tacos, which were pretty good. For my main course I ordered the skirt steak(medium)w/baked potato & a Caesar salad. Everything was great! My mom has the salmon & my sister has the surf & turf. Overall it was a good experience. The restaurant was right across the street from our hotel. Make a reservation!
Food was fantastic! The garlic muscles and spicy calamari appetizers were incredible. Our entrees came out hot, fast and delicious. We ordered the Halibut and the seafood pasta, both were excellent. Only negative was the drinks. I let the server sell me on Don Julio Margaritas and while delicious, they drove the price of my bill up big time. If you drink moderately, the restaurant is amazing and very reasonably priced. Very easy to spend $300 if you drink high dollar margaritas
We had a great meal. It was a very small space so it was really loud.
I loved the food here, we all did. The Paella was so delicious!! The place is quiet and cute and in a nice location. The only complaint I have is that their online menu is not updated and we were disappointed that there were no oysters for us.
Overall a great place !
THE STAFF IS VERY NICE. I wish I could remember everyone’s name down to the bartender & waitress. & Special Thank you to CARLOS for making us feel at home!! I’m coming here every time I come to Puerto Rico
Very nice staff
Awesome!!!!! The Food and Service was impeccable. We ate ate at multiple places and Cayo hands down was our best dining experience. The fried Red Snapper and Salmon with plantains and chick peas is a must try. We travel a lot and eat at many places and Cayo we highly recommend!!!!!!
Our last night in Puerto Rico we chose Cayo Blanco. We have walked past it many times in the past and decided to give it a try. The meal was excellent. We were very glad we chose there over STK at the Vanderbilt! We had to octopus appetizer which is out of the norm for me but considering it was a raved about appetizer we chose to give it a shot, then the king prawn appetizer. The octopus was tender and flavorful. I was very pleased. The king prawns however were outstanding! Sweet and perfectly cooked. Not realizing how large the ceviche salad was we sure were glad we decided to share it and still took half home (thank god we had a refrigerator in our hotel suite). The ceviche was perfectly prepared and seasoned. Loved it. Then as a big treat we decided to split the grilled lobster tail. My goodness! It was huge and absolutely delicious. I am not usually a lobster fan as I’d prefer shrimp or crab but there is something about Caribbean lobster tail I love. It was so large that we ended up taking some of it home as well and it made a perfect preflight snack before we left for our hotel the next day. Alex our waiter was kind and personable and gave great advice. We appreciate that. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars to all is after dining at Mario Pagan and Jude Enrique I think I was a little spoiled. This is definitely a little more relaxed atmosphere and a simpler presentation the food was still outstanding. We like visiting local establishments with Puerto Rican cuisine as opposed to other types of food. We want to support the local restaurants and chefs as much as possible.
Nice restaurant in the middle of Condado. Good seafood options
Delicious food and awesome service with reasonable prices. The avocado stuffed with ceviche was amazing.
Recommend by neighbors, and was excellent, service was very attentive on all aspects.
The food was great, loved presentation of octopus appetizer was very delicious. Definitely will dine here again with many entree options that looked outstanding.
Appetizers were really good, but entrees were overcooked. Steak & whole FIsh were both over.
Food was mediocre and took forever to come. Such a disappointment. Took an hour to get food...
Great service, amazing authentic food. Will visit again before we leave!
We had the fried snapper with rice and beans, paella fried 1 and amarillos! Yummy!
Welcoming staff. We arrived early but we're kindly seated right away. I had the fresh fried red snapper which was superb. My son had the lobster and thought it was delicious.
Everything from appetizer to dessert was delicious. The chocolate cake was out of this world. Very friendly waitress/staff. Would love to visit again.
The food is a 5/5 but the service was a bit slow, but worth the wait
Service was very slow. It took almost an hour before even receiving an appetizer. When entrees came out, they were warm, but not hot like they had been sitting back there. Waitstaff was friendly, but it was just very slow.
Good food great service w
Love this place !!!!!
Camilla was our server and was fantastic. The food was also very good. We ordered the paella and we wanted the rice crisp on the bottom (socarrat). We were told they normally don’t cook it like that but they would ask the chef. The chef did and the socarrat was perfect. However, If you choose to do this way, just ask that that the seafood be added a little later-since the rice is cooked longer-to make sure it does not get overcooked.
The food was great the drinks were good and the prices of the drinks were pretty decent.
Most delicious food ever
Only place where I ordered real salad and menu with great options
Although the cod fritters were tasty and the service and ambiance were excellent the seafood paella was not good. The seafood was over cooked and the rice was very dry. I briefly considered sending it back but based on my girlfriends rice dish it just seemed par for the course that night. I’ll chalk it up to covid issues as many places seemed understaffed during the time we visited. Again our waitress was lovely and staff was very attentive.
3/25 - Vacation
Go elsewhere. You’ve been warned! Don’t get lured into this tiny, mediocre, overpriced, establishment. I’m not sure how this place has so many 5 star reviews! I’m stunned! The food is nothing to boast about, the sword fish was very tough, lacked seasoning, the mashed potatoes had zero flavor. The octopus salad was the only thing that tasted right. We asked for virgin cocktails and got them with rum. Then we were charged for it. Not to mention, their “frozen” drinks were super watery and not great, we didn’t even finish them. Not the place to go to have an enjoyable meal. There were loud, distracting customers 1 table over. They condoned their erratic behavior because not once were they told to keep it down for the sake of the other guests. There’s only 1 server and there must be only 1 chef because our food took forever! That’s how small this place is. Morton’s would have been a better option!
The food was absolutely amazing. We had the lobster and fried snapper and the flavors would make you cry! (Happy tears)
Even better food
I would’ve given them 4 stars but the customer service was horrible, and unacceptable. The wait time for my food was ridiculous. But I must say the food was excellent. Small restaurant but that wasn’t an issue. I would suggest this restaurant if you’re in search of great food and that’s it other wise choose another restaurant with acceptable service.
Service was slow, only one server. The space is not large but they are busy enough for 2 servers. “Jumbo Louisiana style” crab cake was mainly breading with some claw meat and deep fried. The size was not Jumbo and there was NO Jumbo lump crab meat.
I requested a lite amount of dressing on my Caesar Salad - I received a salad drenched in low fat dressing (I feel that was a communication mistake ). When the server asked how everything was - I said not the best and I was given the check. So it was a let down.
The tables around us seemed to enjoy their meals. But if you live any where near MD,PA or DE - do NOT get the crab cakes!
The food and service were great. Our table was a little crowded at the very front of the restaurant but it was still very nice and cozy. Excellent choice!
Our very favorite restaurant in San Juan. The food is fabulous the service is great ! What more can you ask for ??
You won’t be disappointed
great food and great service and a very hopping part of town
Best restaurant in San Juan!!
Worth every penny
The food is amazing
The food is good, not worth the price tag though. The service is ultra slow. They make the best out of the space they have but it is a very small place. I felt like a beta fish inside a small fish bowl. I would not go here again unless I was the only person dining in at the time.
Hit or miss with food choices.
The food was great & servers were attentive. It's not the place to come on a first date because you're gonna sit there a while... but certainly worth the wait. Book in advance & take an early table. We appreciate them being open & the delightful meal & experience. We'll be back for sure!
Excellent choices ! Everything cooked to perfection ! Our first time in PR and we’ve been here twice
The steak empanadas are amazing.
The latest lobster tail was delicious and huge !! My wife had the filet mignon and it too was perfect We had non-alcoholic pina coladas that really hit the spot.
The two gentlemen there were very accommodating and courteous
Hope to make it back again before we leave
Loved it so much I came here twice on my vacation! Food is just delicious and so fresh. Can’t recommend it enough
