Fried Red Snapper
Whole fish deep fried puertorican style
Turnovers (Empanadas); Skirt Steak, Crab or Lobster
Three turnovers stuffed with your choice
The food was just okay. It was a little below my expectations for a seafood restaurant. Shredded imitation crab meat should never be used at a real seafood restaurant. We got the sampler crab cakes, empanadas, and crab rice. The crab rice was kinda like crab and seasoning mushed up together. Probably should have gotten a whole piece of fish plated.
The seafood pasta was amazing! Casual, yet elegant and intimate place. The wait staff were excellent!! Highly recommend!!!
Great food and ambiance. Loved that they require proof of Covid vaccine or negative Covid test before entry.
Very friendly and helpful waiter. Excellent seafood and nice, fairly quiet ambience
The food was delicious and our waiter suggested some great sides to compliment our dinner entrees. Highly recommend and will return.
Excellent service, very good seafood but a bit expensive.
Nice environment great service but food wasn’t seasoned well
After making a reservation way ahead of time ( several weeks), my party of 3 arrived, but was told we had to wait before our table wasn’t ready. We did arrive a little early, but weren’t seating until 15-20 minutes after our reservation started. My sister and I ordered the same entree (the grouper filet) and hers was over cooked. There was a very loud group getting drunk in there. They definitely threw off the ambiance
While visiting PR, we wanted to enjoy authentic PR cuisine with a nice ambience. We ordered paella and steak mofongo. The paella was underwhelming with quite a “fishy” scent/ taste. My boyfriend enjoyed the steak mofongo but I felt it was quite salty. They were kind in bringing a complimentary tres leches cake in honor of my birthday which was much appreciated and fantastic! The mojitos were also quite good. The “for 1” person of paella was enormous! Overall, not my liking in food or ambience. Also definitely get a reservation and bring a copy of your vaccine card.
We chose to sit at the bar, the bartender had amazing recommendations, we asked to set the TV to the US Open and he did with no hesitation. Drinks were amazing, the mango sangria and coconut mojito were great choices. We had the octopus stuffed mofongo - great portion, flavor and presentation. The other dish was the crab with local rice… amazing flavors. The ambiance is very comfortable and great for a casual date night. Kudos to the servers and all staff on friendliness and caring for the customers. We would absolutely return
I had the whole red snapper and it was absolutely delicious. I grew up in at. Croix and it was just as I remembered
We were celebrating my birthday and was asked that when we made the reservation but no one acknowledged it or even spoke about it. We arrived for our reservation a few mins early and was told they would seat us as soon as they could. We only waited about 10 minutes and we were seated.
Beautiful restaurant and food!
Everything went really well. With Covid being the rule of the day, I felt very safe and the team held the standard very high. Food was good, full of Puerto Rican flavor and flare! I especially enjoyed the sausage appetizer and the salted cod fish croquette. The rice and beans were really good too!
Thanks for a wonderful experience on such short notice.
Really slow service. Had to remind the waiter several times of a drink order. Furthermore, after an initial visit to get drink and food orders, we never heard from our waiter and spent a decent amount of time trying to flag someone down just to get a drink. There was Around a 1hr 15 min wait for our food. The food was good, but frankly not what you would expect from a restaurant charging up to 95 dollars for an entree. The tapas we tried were decent. The surf and turf seemed bland. Additionally the mashed potato was dry and lacking flavor. The scallops I. The seafood in the pasta was quite chewy as well.
The dining area is small and they pack the tables tight. The table next to us were using several IPads to watch loud music videos. Super ratchet vibe.
I didn’t voice any complaint to the staff, mostly because you would have to wait for someone that works there to see you. Additionally, I don’t really like complaining in front of people.
The be fair, the staff looked busy. All 2 of them. Not sure if this was a poor management or staffing issue.
The food was excellent. My husband had the churrasco skirt steak which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had the grouper with garlic cream sauce. It was so light and perfectly cooked I could eat that on a regular. There was live entertainment the night we were there. We definitely recommend this place.
Flies everywhere. They don’t give you a lot of food. Can’t share appetizers and they don’t give you a lot. Main course was ok. But nothing great.
The food & drinks were on point! The service was sweet & funny...will definitely go again!
Had a great experience at Cay Blanco for a friend’s birthday dinner. The wait was slow but the service made up for it. Our waiters were very attentive and nice. Food was AMAZING. They even gave us free shots for our friends birthday after singing her a song. Definitely recommend
We LOVED everything about this restaurant!! They called us prior to our reservation to arrive at a later time due to the air conditioner not working. We appreciated that and rescheduled for a later time. It was worth it! The waiters were wonderful, food and drinks EXCEPTIONAL, and it was intimate. We will definitely visit again!!
One of the best meals we’ve had in Puerto Rico! The AC had broken earlier and when I made the reservation they immediately called to let me know. We decided to go with it and so happy we did. Everything from drinks to food to the service was top notch. We really felt for the workers, especially our waiter Alex and anyone who we didn’t see in the kitchen which I’m sure was sweltering. They were definitely very uncomfortable but they worked super hard to make sure we had a fabulous experience and it showed. We got the Scallops appetizer as well as the Chicken Sausage and had Surf and Turf for our main meal. ALL cooked to perfection. My kids had Cesar salads and Pasta which they enjoyed as well. They even said it was their favorite meal so far! Highly recommend and looking forward to stopping in again on our next trip to PR! Job well done by all.
Great food and service! 100% recommended
Busers made up for a busy server. They fulfilled our order and brought our drinks. Really enjoyed talking to them. Appetizer was awesome. My NY steak was cooked exactly how I wanted but my sister’s steak was overdone and she wanted it medium-well. Overall great experience. A must try in San Juan.
Food was great, excellent service. Will be back.
Excellent food, excellent ambience did I say excellent food
It was lovely and the staff was very attentive and accommodating. I t was packed but the service was still excellent and fast.
Service was great and food was delicious!!! Will definitely come back!
Nice, quiet, relaxing restaurant. Food was very good!
I reached out to move my dinner back a half hour and was denied. As I was pulling up to the restaurant, I got a text saying don’t rush the people at your table have not paid up yet…should be 5 minutes longer. We were not seated until almost 30 minutes later. They sat us at the bar and 1 drink was ordered, but didn’t receive it until we were seated;30 minutes later. The food was not very tasty. The salmon had no flavor, the spicy crab wasn’t spicy, the vegetables were bland. The waitress bought us the wrong food twice. We didn’t get water until halfway through the meal, even though we requested it in the beginning. It was an all around poor experience unfortunately.
My family (2 adults, 2 children) dined here during our vacation. Cayo Blanco’s service was excellent through the process. They confirmed the OpenTable reservation, had good practices considering the pandemic, and the waitress and waiter/host were very professional. The menu has lots of great options and it all looked great. Both of my daughters enjoyed their dinners (seafood stew, grilled sausage, truffle fries). My wife liked the fried red snapper. The only criticism with my dish was that the crab was too salty for my taste. The rice was very nice. If we were staying longer, I would definitely come back. Since seating is limited, make your reservations at least a few days in advance.
Food was great... place is small and intimate so we can hear everyone around us.. some customers were obnoxiously loud... the restaurant can't really control that though. Also, we waited outside for over 10 minutes with ever being acknowledged/welcomed. Thats the only negative thing we really can say. We made reservations, were outside on time and never acknowledged. We ultimately had to wait an additional 25 minutes to be seated, but they made up for it by getting us our food quickly. Overall 4/5 stars!
Waited a long time to be seated and to make up for the wait the first round of drinks were on the house. This was nice of them to do but then the food took long to come out and was average.
great place and good food.. did not like the extended wait to be seated in spite of having reservations and then after getting seated again endure a long wait to get the staff to take your orders.. like many other reviewers mentioned, what we wanted was no longer available, one would think the wait staff would say that at the start .. so we could have planned for other menu options, we did not want her to go back and come again after another 30 mins, so blurted out whatever we could see .. be prepared for slow service ... i have to say the food was good but the service needs to improve, they mentioned they were short staffed etc. but at the same time had all the tables full , as soon as a table emptied they had people filled in..
We accidentally found this gem just looking at a map. They are amazing. The food is fantastic, and the service is kind and professional. A caution that it is indoor-only and fairly small, so you'll want to be comfortable with that. And get the tres leches cake even if you're full.
Our server Camila was knowledgeable and so pleasant. Great service, intimate and warm atmosphere, and nice wine list. A wonderful dinner spot on our trip to Candado. Everything we had was excellent from the martinis and appetizers to the coconut flan. Highly recommend the lobster turnovers and spicy crab tacos to start.
Absolutely exquisite! Still dreaming about the food we had, and I’ll definitely be back. We tried the seafood sampler, octopus, whole fish and paella. All were delicious. I will say I’ve definitely had better paella, but it was still good. Yum yum yum. Love loved it! Service was super friendly and great. Highly recommend!
Love the food, the menu is amazing. The people are friendly and always a pleasure to come back.
Can’t wait to come back
Waiter was great and it was some of the best food we have had in San Juan!
The food was magnificent and the service was wonderful. Very friendly atmosphere. The seafood was fresh and very well prepared. We will definitely return.
