We went there for a birthday dinner. The service was exceedingly slow. The table side Caesar salad was warm rather than crisp. The water had a awful smell. Some of this could have been due to recovery efforts after the winter storm but being seated at 6:30 and not eating until after 8:30 was too much. At least keep the drinks coming. Nothing was done or acknowledged for the two birthdays we were celebrating. Not sure I’d return too many really good restaurants in Houston. BTW, another table of 5 by us were also complaining about the slow service.
My husband loves Italian food and since we’ve moved to Houston we’ve had trouble finding a new go-to spot. This may have just become our go-to, hubby loved the chicken parm! The decor on the inside is definitely interesting to say the least but the service was wonderful. When making my reservation I even noted it was my husbands birthday and without even mentioning it at the restaurant they took note of it and brought dessert out to him at the end of our meal; typically restaurants pay no attention to those notes so that was big for me! We will be back.
The food was delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and homey. They don't try to turn the tables. Overall a great experience.
Great food, good service, nice atmosphere. Even in the age of COVID a very enjoyable experience.
Excellent as always! You can actually talk to your dinner companions without yelling! Highly recommend!
Always consistent and always delicious! Has been a family favorite for years and this time did not disappoint. Also appreciated the outstanding service. The table side Caesar salad is still the best in the city.
Reservations at 6:45. We didn’t order until 7:30. Food came at 8:30. We left at 9:15. Longest meal of my life. Cesar salad with anchovies a must. Other than that, I have had better dining experiences here before. The whole night was off.
Open Table PLEASE UPDATE THE BUSINESS HOURS FOR CAVATORE'S. I MADE A RESERVATION FOR FRIDAY EVENING ATV8:15 BECAUSE THE TIMES ON OPEN TABLE SHOWED THE RESTAURANT WAS OPEN UNTIL 10PM. LOW AND BEHOLD THE RESTAURANT CLOSES AT 8:30 ... MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DISAPPOINTED 😞
Husband and I had a wonderful dinner here, we will definitely be back!
A family restaurant that we return to again and again. The welcome, service and food is always great!
Great as usual!
Best Cesar salad in Houston. Great Snapper De Casa and stuffed mushrooms.
This is one of our favorite Italian Restaurants in Houston, and it may not be ultra luxury but it is very good and on Saturdays they have live music.
All around a great experience.
The lemon ice martinis were the bomb. Loved the salmon tarragon. Waitstaff was on point. Piano player was icing in the cake.
On every visit to Cavatore's, I am so happy that we have such a nice restaurant in our neighborhood. The food is always very good as is the service. Keep up the good work.
We always enjoy dining at Cavatore’s. The food is delicious, the wine list is great and the staff are very attentive. They are being very careful about COVID protocol which is reassuring.
Our table and host were great; the piano player excellent. Our server may have started that day. She did seem to know or understand our drink order which carried out through the dinner. My husband's pizza was tasty; my pasta dish tasted mundane.
We came on Friday evening. The food and service was outstanding as it always is when we dine here,
Food was mediocre .
Cavatore's is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant! The food and service are always excellent. A piano player and violin player made the evening even better. We will return to Cavatore's soon.
We have been going to Cavatore's on Christmas eve for many years. This year was better than ever. We arrived early, but were seated quickly. Where we were seated was a little chilly, and staff quickly adjusted the temp. We had the most attentive waiter in all the years coming here. The food was every bit as good as we experienced in the past.
The piano music made dinner all the better.
Love the restaurant. Great service and lovely atmosphere.
The food is always great here and so is the service. Never been disappointed. Love this restaurant.
This is one of my favorite restaurant that I continue to go back again and again. I would highly recommend it. The food is great and the service is always good. The veal marsala is my very favorite and I think the best in Houston.
The fettucine alfredo was the creamiest that I have ever had!
The garlic bread was toasted and very tasty.
The chocolate mousse was to die for!
Good food. Service was off for some reason. Although it was recognized and other wait staff tried to cover.
Food delicious as always
SO EXCITED that OSSO BUCCO Fridays are back!!!
Fork tender and so well seasoned... all on a bed of Prosciutto Mashed Potatoes!
SO YUMMY ON A COOL FALL EVENING!
The food was excellent we had the Snapper. Fresh and cooked perfectly. I think most of the wait staff was in training but the service was fine. Overall the experience was great. We have eaten here many times.
Great evening with a live violinist and piano player playing wonderful music. First up, a bottle of Barolo, then the fantastic Caesar Salad for two, made in front of you, and then the Entrees, never a disappointment no matter what you choose. For us, we were full, the sizes of the entrees are large, so come hungry, and we just couldn't find room for some of their wonderful dessert this Saturday Night. This certainly is one of our favorite Italian Restaurants.
As usual, the food was amazing. However, there was no music at all, live or recorded, which I’ve never experienced before when dining here. It was a little disconcerting. Not a reason to not dine here, but it’s always strange going to places that don’t have some sort of background music
Good food and reasonably priced! Enjoyed the experience.
As always, Cavatore's was great. The martinis were perfect, the food was delicious, and our waiter, Chris, was excellent. We will return to Cavatore's soon.
Great ambiance, loved the mix of "old barn" and "Italian restaurant". Service was friendly and efficient. Our bar drinks were perfect, and the food was delicious. Our group ordered the fried ravioli, chicken parmesan, grilled salmon, and pasta with creamy pesto sauce. All were wonderful. I definitely want to return to try other dishes. Gluten-free pasta is also available.
Excellent pasta and pizza, plus maybe the best Caesar salad in town. Service was okay, waitress seemed too busy and walked by many times without looking our way. Crying babies from three different tables were annoying.
I always enjoy our evening at Cavatores ! From the beautiful music on the piano to the outstanding food, everything is great. Our server was busy but very attentive to us. And we always leave with leftovers !!
Great environment to take kids since it’s louder than most Italian restaurants. Cesar salad experience was awesome and food is amazing
Great meal! Loved the beef tournedos.
