Cava Mezze- Rockville
The food at Cava was delicious, as always. It became very crowded which made it hard to get our waiter's attention, and the noise level became unbearable. I had to shout to make myself heard. It was very tiring after a while. A good place for a drink or quick bite. Not the place to linger.
Great food and good prices. A bit noisy. Best waitress ever.
The original Cava Mezze is always great!
Very enjoyable restaurant.
Took two friends for dinner. The food was outstanding (as always) and the service was great. Thank you!
Cava Mezze is a nice alternative to the depressing food landscape in Gaithersburg. Food is simple but well prepared and with some original twist in some of the dishes. Service is friendly and efficient
I find it a bit overpriced, but it's one of my favorite stops when in town for business.
Still delicious after all these years. Gluten-free friendly and server knew her stuff. Will be back!
A nice touch of spice. If you like mild, tell the server
Cava is great! The food is fantastic and the wait staff are the best. It is loud inside especially on Friday nights. Don't expect to have a quit meal.
Only concern is very high noise level Have to yell to have conversations
It was delicious.
Love Cava for every occasion. The food is just out of this world!!!
Good food, especially the lamb chops and grilled shrimp. Good service in a nice neighborhood restaurant.
Have been coming to this Cava in Traville Gateway for years and dining experience is always very good. The food and service were excellent on our most recent visit.
We loved the mini gyros! We also had tzatiki, grilled octopus, village salad, beet salad (spicy!) and saganaki. We DEFINITELY ordered too much food (for 4,) but FYI gyro leftovers make for an amazing omelette the next morning!
Enjoyed a great lunch. Scallops were the highlight. Lunch was a great time to go - not as loud as dinner. Also enjoyed the giant beans. Eggplant dip was spicier than we remembered.
Always good. Tried the lamb chops this time - excellent!
Great neighborhood bistro for us. Outside dining is quiet and fun on a beautiful summer evening. Service friendly and the food is always consistently great. Don’t miss the desserts.
Service and the food was awesome!
Service was friendly and the right balance of helpful and out of the way. Food is always delicious. I had a sangria, watermelon salad and lamb chops. My friend shared the salad and ordered the shrimp. We both loved what we ordered.
Everything was great. Loved the lamb meatballs, shrimp, corn and calamari.
Excellent plates, delicious cocktail options. We'll be back.
Had a great post-theater meal with friends.
We shared and there were some new gems on then menu since the last time I visited!
Lovely time! Great service!
Whenever we’re in the Rockville area we make it a point to go to Cava. The lamb chops are second to none. Loved the watermelon salad. The restaurant has a great vibe.
The food was outstanding. We had a variety of plates and everything was outstanding. I have yet to find a hummus that can top Cava’s hummus. Our service was also excellent. The timing if our server was great. He was in top of refills but was not intrusive. Staff that delivered the food was friendly. There were no missteps in this meal.
We had lunch on a Wednesday and the food was delicious, but the noise level was so loud, we could barely hear each other.
Excellent service and delicious food. Just a bit too crowded and hot but would go back.
Everything was delicious!! The New Summer Menu is amazing. The Grouper was outstanding as was the grilled octopus! Love Chef D! :)
Good food but servers in a huge hurry to drop off plates and put them down on the wrong table only to move it to the correct table after the wrong tables kids handled the food- kind of gross.
Tables are very close to each other and the noise level was very high. Food is excellent if a bit overpriced.
The food is really really good--so many favorites like the flaming cheese, calamari, village salad, Brussels sprouts. The drinks are also solid. I had the red sangria last time and it was delicious. The service is also prompt and friendly. My only complaints are that it is super loud anda little dark.
I'm dropping Cava down to a "3" given what appear to be some sacrifices to their prior standards. 1) used to get a nice little serving of free pita and dip and olives, now this has been reduced to dry pita with a small (very spicy) pepper dip, if want hummus it's $8 and no sign of any olives. 2) scallops for $15 (an expensive tappa) is made up of 3 scallops which were neither large nor well prepared, on top of some pearl pasta. 3) Have forgotten how to make a lemon drop martini, it should have a sugar rim, not be saturated with simple syrup instead. 4) An order of brussels sprouts was very skimpy for the cost, maybe 6 pieces cut in half. That's enough numbering but as I said I think this represents a decline, and the maybe coincidentally the place was relatively quiet for a Friday night, no crowd at the bar and empty tables.
While the food was delicious, I would recommend ordering a few dishes at a time. We ordered everything at once and everything came out at once not giving us the chance to enjoy one “course” before another one showed up.
This is the place where you want to keep going back until you have tried everything on the menu and then won't be able to choose a favorite. Everything is that good. Casual and friendly enough for families, sophisticated and adventurous enough for special occasions. Reservations recommended for busy hours, seating is limited and you will likely need to park in the larger adjacent lot.
The food and service was good. The only bad thing is that the kitchen closed at 10:00 pm on a Saturday day night and would not get us dessert.
Delicious food. A little noisy and dark(hard to read the menu without phone flashlight). Lollipop chicken is always a favorite.
Food is fantastic, it’s served as small plates. Such a wide variety to choose from, some so simple yet so good! Highly recommend, the restaurant is fairly small so it gets busy fast!
Excellent food as always. We love Cava for the great Greek food, great wine list and yummy desserts.
