Cava Mezze- Rockville

We went on Father's Day. They accommodated 6 people. Our server was excellent. We did not have to wait long for anything. He even accommodated my nephews who is a very picky eater.

The food was tasty. I almost never give 5 stars unless I am blown away but you will not be disappointed at all with the food.

Great food! We all enjoyed it very much! Will come here again.

One of my favorites, always. We go to Cava several times a year. This is the first time I ever reserved on open table though. My only disappointment was that I didn't get the free Greek donuts for reserving on open table. They were all out. But they gave me truffles instead.

The food is absolutely delicious! I love the risotto, calamari, brussel sprouts, ... Great sangria too. The service is also quite good. The only problem with Cava is that it is far too noisy. It is difficult to hold a conversation with the person across the table from you. You have to yell to talk which just makes the place even louder. I will never understand why restaurant owners like their places to be loud, I guess they think it makes their restaurants seem very popular.

I'm not a fan of lamb and pork chops because its usually cooked dry but, this place does it really well. The chef is a master at grilling meat. Everything I had was incredible. The server we had was friendly, accommodating and fast. If I could afford to go every night, I would.

Cava is always delicious! Every single item is amazing. The veggies, seafood and dips etc. Always on point!

I love their food. The ambiance is great and the service is very attentive. I highly recommend it.

Was a bit disappointed this past visit. It's usually a good experience, but our lunch this past visit was soured by slower service than usual. The worst was that our server or the kitchen apparently forgot about the sandwich order for one in our party. It made it awkward for everyone else to eat their food while still warm if one at our table was still waiting for 15 minutes after our food arrived. Refills on our beverages were not offered until we were almost ready to leave.

Much too expensive for the small plates that they don't advertise. Very noisy ambiance. Food tasty, but too spicy even when not so stated. Service good.

I think it was a off night. Bad waitress and seemed like a a lot of money for what we got. Scallop risotto went from 3 to 2 scallops

I was worried about the time because it was Mother’s Day.
But our table was ready, the service was good and the food was on time, fresh, very well presented, and above all delicious

Ordered chicken souvlaki, branzino, cauliflower, broccolini and sweet potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious. One small service detail- there should be a serving utensil for each dish.

Food and service were superb. Ambience, especially noise level, could be improved.

Great service. Food was over cooked. Had to send half back. They cooked it again and it was satisfactory. It was the Lollipop Chicken.

Love this little restaurant, good food, good service and great value! Great atmosphere feels like you’re eating an a comfortable old home.

Another excellent experience at Cava Mezze! Our waitress had a manner and ease so impressive, we invited her to join us on more than one occasion!

I love the small plates and selection. There was plenty for our vegetarian party to choose from. The wait staff was attentive. The room is a bit dark and noisy and punctuated with plates of cheese being set afire, some of which were a bit too close for comfort.

I took a client to lunch and we enjoyed it very much. We are both local to the area so we knew of the restaurant. The Open Table reservation system was very easy and convenient. The $12 shareable lunch option was perfect for us. And everything was delicious!

Really great food and service. We tried a wide variety of dishes and all were great. Small place so noise level is sometimes a problem.

Menu has really become less diverse over the past year across all Cava’s. Used to be a fan, but somewhat bored and disappointed with them now. Strongly recommend going elsewhere for variety. No good.

The food and service were quite excellent and we will return for those reasons. The ambiance was negatively impacted by the noise levels which diminished as the evening progressed. The menu is somewaht limiting if you a vegatarian/pescatarian or do not eat pork products.

We ordered two different items, new to us. Both were extremely spicy. We did not care for them or the new menu.

The lamb chop was succulent and cook perfectly, I was seriously chewing on the bone in the middle of the restaurant giving zero ducks (lol) of who was watching. I really loved how the wait staff kept bringing the pita bread and harissa to the table, I never turn down carbs and it was nice to wrap different dishes in the pita like the chicken souvlaki. I was also very impressedwith the dry scallops they melted in your mouth. I would absolutely return and recommend. It is pricey tho so I wouldn’t recommended it for casual dining.

Noise is always tje issue. Food is always great

We have gone to CAVA for years since it's inception. we dined at the flagship restaurant. Our food was good. The timing of food not great, didn't really have a lot of time between tasting dips and main meal . Service was marginal, our server could have been a little more attentive.

One of the very best places to dine and have a great time in Montgomery County.

We enjoy the food every time. It's very fresh and well prepared the menu has something for everybody.

I need to get a job in the kitchen, so I can find out how they prepare their foods...all of which are amazing. We had:
- the zucchini fritters, which practically evaporate in your mouth, they were so light and airy (not heavy and oil-sodden like most fried foods)
- spanakopita, falafel, roasted beet salad
- scallop risotto (scallops were fantastic; meaty, moist, and mouth-wateringly tasty)
- lamp chops (to die for)

This was the first time we went for dinner. Everything was great. The branzino was particularly good. I will definitely order that again. Everything was freshly prepared and very flavorful.

A little dark and smallish. Tables are too clise to each other, at least ours. Food was excellent and service is very good. Friendly people and manager. Offered free fried cheese.

Love the food. Hate the noise. Our server was friendly, helpful and not too intrusive. Wish the tables were not so close.

I had a morning meeting at an office on Shady Grove Road and decided to have lunch on my way home at a restaurant I had not been to before. I chose Cava Mezze because I like small plates and Mediterranean cuisine. I expected to enter a restaurant with warm colors and warm lighting, but encountered a very dark decor that looked like western American rustic. I decided to order a glass of sauvignon blanc and two dishes, one cold and one hot, and ordered the wine and the hummus to begin. It was unlike any hummus I had every had before. A spice with which I was not familiar not only darkened the hummus, but overwhelmed the chickpea and tagine flavors. As I was about to order my second plate, a very loud party of six was seated next to me. As there were only two occupied tables in the restaurant, I expressed my displeasure to the server and asked him to bring my check and who determined the seatings for the guests. When he failed to bring it, I went to him, got the check, and took it to the person who was not only the one taking the payments, but also determining the seating, and handling the take-out order calls. I had to stand there while he finished a very long phone order. As he was about the process my card, two hand trucks of cases of wine were brought in through the narrow entry. I had to press myself against the wall to let them past me. Is there any wonder that I do not recommend this restaurant?

Good quality food, portions quite big! Wonderful service. Will be back definitely!

Cava is one of my 'must visits' when in the DC area and I love introducing new people to their awesomeness. This trip I took three newbies and they were in love. We ordered the saganaki and spanakopita to start and the chef's platter to share. It was the perfect amount of food and everyone was satisfied. Our service was great and the atmosphere is always classy and comfortable. It's a must!
