Good ambience. Was fun watching the kitchen. We sat at the counter. Food was above average from the Italians we have had before across the country.
Many flies distract us from focusing on our dining
Food was burnt , the table was very sticky. Atmosphere is nice but wouldn’t go back
Service was exceptional. Very attentive, bar staff brought over drinks when ready. Sever was knowledgeable and friendly. The desserts were delicious as well as the pasta dishes. Everything house made I would definitely come back when in town.
Cattivella is a true dining experience! The food, service and ambience is always outstanding. My favorite dishes are the Trenette, the mushroom pizza, fig and arugula pizza and the lamb ragu. Try the crustata for dessert.
So good! Order everything and share it all with your fellow diners. Can't wait to get back!
No secret here. Cattivella is outstanding for foodies, date night or any reason to go out to eat. Monday happy hour is the best deal going for them.
Always absolutely amazing at every touch point! Couldn't recommend any higher! The Chef and Owner, Elise Wiggins, is truly a gem for Denver!
I live close by and this is one of my favorite places in the area! Food is outstanding and the happy hour deals can't be beat.
Great food, great atmosphere. We sat at the 'bar' and were able to watch all the food being prepped....dinner and a show
The food was fantastic!! The Pasticcio and garganelli were cooked perfectly and the taste of Italy truly came thru!
Service was quick and the staff exceptional.
We love this place, and go quite often. They have AMAZING happy hour deals. We brought my parents, and it was too loud for us to have a conversation. It really bothered my parents. Other than that, fantastic. We received a complimentary dessert for my daughter’s 9th birthday and food was delicious!!
Great Food! Busy place though, noise level can get ramped up.
This is our 4th time coming back this summer. We don’t even live in Denver and we go out of our way to eat here when we visit. One of my favorite restaurants… if we lived in Denver, I’d eat here once a week and rotate through the entire menu.
kitchen staff strives for perfection and it shows…
Great food, slower service, I expected a little fancier.
We were pretty underwhelmed by the food. We had a nice time but our food just wasn’t very good. We had a hair in one dish which we understand happens but also all food came out a little cold and pasta was really undercooked. Didn’t say anything as we were celebrating and we used to love coming here but will probably try somewhere else in the future.
Great happy hour specials! Perfect place to celebrate an anniversary. Will be back!
Initially seated outside which was subject to loud music from a neighboring restaurant. Moved to a table outside at the front of the restaurant with no noise and well spaced tables. All courses were excellent including char grilled oysters. The large pizza, pasta and tiramisu. Service was fine although it did take a few minutes to get our check. Would definitely recommend.
Happy hour all day on Mondays can help keep the cost down, but otherwise unremarkable food at the price of somewhat better food. Nice patio though, and I had a friendly server.
The food is always good, but the service is what keeps us coming back. The staff always makes us feel like we are their special customers. They are well-trained and personable. A big shout -out to our favorite waitress, Elvie. And for a fun experience, ask to sit at the counter to watch and interact with the people preparing the food: what hard workers!
Awesome restaurant. Service was friendly, food was great.
We have been eating at Cativella for a few years now, and absolutely love it. The chef is so very talented. If you head in for Happy Hour try their Naughty Girl Gimlet, it is fantastic.
My husband was a chef for 15 years and that can make finding restaurants we enjoy a challenge; however, we are looking forward in returning. The food was delicious! Pasta is made in house. The Lamb Ragu is a must! Kimberly was our server and wonderful.
The food was a great different take on traditional Italian. So good.
LOVE THIS PLACE…. Could be a bit less noisy.
The charbroiled oysters never disappoint. The pizzas are excellent. The craft cocktails are very good but can be inconsistent. My first Naughty Girl Gimlet was on point, second one not so much. Staff is attentive.
I want to be fair but also give a head's up to others. This place is in Stapleton so I should have known there would be more children than I'm used to eating around in the downtown Denver area but...the kid behind headbutted me twice, families received much better service than we did as a couple and overall the employees were much more concerned about clearing unfinished plates than taking our order. The manager did comp our food when we decided to leave after the salad course and I let her know my concerns. Thank you! The oysters we did have were delicious and I was looking forward to eating the main course but we never had the chance to order as the servers were busy with the large family tables. We left and went to Benzina which is AMAZING so I would recommend you go there unless you have kids then this may be your fancy alternative to Chucky Cheese.
Good wait staff
Parts of the dining were not well kept
Open kitchen needs to be immaculate if customers can view cooking
Salad chef picking up lettuce with his bare hands!
This was our first time. Enjoyed the food and service. My two constructive comments are 1) the tables were too close together and 2) the music was too loud.
We will be back and try the pizzas.
Food is always delicious but tonight seemed very unorganized and overwhelmed. Meal took over 2 hours from start to finish. Took about an hours just to get calamari and salads. After food finally served, got dessert which was hastily done and very messy on plate.. not up to standards of this restaurant which is usually perfect.
We have loved Cativella since it opened. We saw that Monday had happy hour all day, not normally a night we eat out, but it's one of our favorite restaurants in Denver and we live nearby.
Our server was often missing and our happy hour went over two hours. The food was mostly great, but did not love the chicken liver paté. It was fine, but not amazing. This pandemic has been hard on restaurants and we know much of the staff is new and young. The kitchen still worked hard!
Our anniversary dinner with friends (5 years). Thoroughly enjoyed the happy hour all night and we were not the only ones - it was packed by 7pm on a Monday! Thrilled to be outside and great ambiance, food, and Chianti 👍🏼
The food here is amazing - everything my friend and I got was delicious. I got the Lamb Ragu - I 100% recommend it. It is a little pricey; however, it is definitely worth a date night - whether with your significant other or a friend.
Outstanding food and service!
Elise and her team are exceptional. Every dish is prepared right in front of you and every dish has her love for Italian food. Every server is friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!!!
Pizza was disappointing. It was essentially just pizza dough. The sauce and toppings were barely present. Felt like I ordered a dough entree.
Caesar salad was also a let down. It was a whole heart of romain that had been grilled. When i order a salad i’m not looking to have to cut up the lettuce myself. The dressing also seemed to have too much lemon juice in it for my taste. It was more sour than creamy.
In my opinion the food was very overpriced for what I paid for. Felt like I paid more to get less.
Food is very good! Enjoyed dining outside and had a very enjoyable evening.
Creative Italian menu. Attentive staff. Great indoor/outdoor eating environment.
Food was really good, and service was fantastic. When our waitress accidentally spilled a glass of wine on one of our friends (the table was uneven, so it wasn't her fault), the manager gave us his card and said they would reimburse for any cleaning expenses. That is service you don't see much of these days!
