Absolutely lovely spot with outstanding service. Now, that said, we were the only party there, but our server was unusually attentive and accommodating. Most diners seemed to enjoy their meals. My scallops were a little strong but the crabmeat topping was plentiful and delicious. It would seem unreasonable to assume that the same chef is still there, but quite a few years ago, I found the food to be so over-peppered (black) that I had to send it back. Surprisingly, this was the case again, way too much pepper!!! So chef, please go easy with the S & P - would rather add it myself!
Had a great meal at Catherine's. From the service, food and atmosphere... everything was great. Will definitely be going back.
Very disappointed, as our waitress was EXTREMELY inattentive. Have been there many other times, with good service- not sure that we will go back any time soon.
It was a 1 year anniversary and we were expecting something more special.
We enjoyed our dinner at Catherine's while on a birthday getaway to Kennett Square. Food and service were exceptional. We had blackened tuna and sea scallops, both remarkable dishes. Oh, and cream of mushroom-crab soup! This was a return visit – the noise level was quite a bit louder than we first experienced – difficult to converse.
The welcoming, artsy, relaxed atmosphere combined with friendly service and top notch food made dining at Catherine's a memorable experience. From the first taste, it was clear why previous reviewers raved about the mushroom and crab soup. Truly exceptional. Can't wait to return!
Wife and I loved it. The restaurant was BYOB and every other person brought their own bottles of wine. Great atmosphere. Looking forward to a return trip. Would recommend for a date or anniversary.
Have been going to Catherine's since it was in West Chester. Love the atmosphere and of course the food. Tara was a great server.
Great service and great food. A little loud for my aging ears!
It was a nice restaurant. The only reason I won’t go back is because the seats were so uncomfortable. The seats were so hard and no cushion. I was in pain sitting on them. Key lime pie was delish!
Excellent food, excellent service what else is there to say!!
Catherine's is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food set in a quaint building. The menu changes regularly to feature the freshest ingredients. The Chocolate Pecan Bread Pudding is outstanding!
Nice decor in a country setting. Food is delicious.
Lovely country setting; good food; nice touch with fresh flowers
We’ve been to Catherines several times and never disappointed. BYOB is nice since their meals are pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
The food was good and the service. I just wish they have a table for 3 instead of 2 small tables put together.
Everything awesome. Except parking. Still worth it!
Catherine's is one of my favorite restaurants. It's very cozy and the food is always delicious. My favorite is the mushroom and jumbo lump crab soup. I order it every time I'm there.
Always a great time. Such great atmosphere and the food is exceptional. Mushroom and crab soup like nothing else !!
The food and service were excellent. With ten people in the restaurant, the noise level was still too high for comfortable conversation. Please soften the environment.
First time visiting Catherine's after driving by it for years! Lovely candle lit patio with a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was delicious and we loved that it was a BYO. The wait was longer than expected, but we didn't mind since we were in good company. Will be back!
Great dinner as always try one of the nightly specials they are always delicious
It was wonderful as always!! Never disappointed when dining there.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Catherine's. We sat outside and the setting was charming. Food was even better! Highly recommend the mushroom crab soup and scallop entree. And the pumpkin bread pudding was amazing with two scoops of vanilla ice cream!
We make an pilgrimage to Catherine's annually from Baltimore as the food is so good. Location was a bit difficult to find at first but now we go on 82 north and no problem. The mushroom soup is superb and the desserts are always delicious. It is a true gem and well worth the drive.
We'd been looking forward to Catherine's for a birthday brunch on a sunny fall Sunday afternoon. It did not disappoint! The service was relaxed but appropriately attentive. The food was worth the drive and a fine value - maybe a tad on the expensive side, but wow! Well-balanced meaty and vegetarian dishes. It could be a special meal for anyone.
Food is good, especially mushroom and crab soup. However, it is quite pricey. We love that is is BYOB but don't like the $7 corkage fee.
I had a nice appetizer but the soft shell crabs were not very good. My wife enjoyed her meal. The service could have been better, only 4 people waiting on tables on a busy Saturday night.
Quiet restaurant for a Sunday Brunch at noon. Staff was pleasant and surroundings where quaint and bright and clean. Nice garden if you wanted to eat outside.
We usually celebrate special occasions there. This time was our anniversary. The crab & mushroom soup is a must. Filet Mignon cooked perfect.
A must stop for anyone looking for a quaint, authentic local restaurant. Their mushroom soup is to die for! I had their blackened tuna and my fiance had the sea scallops. Both were cooked to perfection and were good portions without being leaving you stuffed so you can enjoy their fabulous bread pudding. This was our first time at Catherine's but will definitely not be our last!
Have always wanted to go and so we did to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our server was terrific. Tara was her name. She answered questions, made recommendations and made us feel very special. Food was as advertised, delicious. We look forward to visiting again.
Casual and comfortable with good ambiance and very good food. The Mushroom & Crab Soup borders on the best thing I've ever eaten.
We sat on the patio for dinner in late summer. It was a delightful experience and the food was great. The place is BYOB, so bring your favorite wine along.
Catherine's is a gem. It's part and parcel of a distinctive country warmth and charm that is every day more elusive. It's a cornerstone of Unionville village. The friend and fine cook who recommended Catherine's to us was not mistaken: Everything the four of us ordered was delicious and well presented by friendly, welcoming, and highly efficient staff. And then there is the terrace. The next time we are there, we may book a table at the very appealing dining spot at the back. Oh, and the BYO alcohol policy - with a truly tiny corking fee - lets you bring and consume with your meal exactly what pleases you. Not to be missed.
The food here is top rate. If you like sauces they do an excellent job. My husband and I love this place.
Favorite restaurant by far! They continually surprise me with quality and hospitality
We were staying in the area for a few days for a quick get-away. The food was fabulous!
The waitress was personable and friendly! We wish it was close to home so we could
visit more often. Highly recommend.
Had apps, dinner, and dessert. Portions were perfect and food was excellent. Loved the bread pudding for dessert.
Catherine's is a wonderful place for a delicious, romantic and reasonably priced dinner. The staff is so great- kind and real. The food always so good, the desserts are homemade and very special. A byob - and the outdoor seating is romantic and comfortable. Try the crab mushroom soup, the short rib angiolotti, key lime pie (or any of the desserts). The daily specials are always great too.
Outstanding brunch! The four of us had the pancakes, eggs benedict, omelettes, mushroom soup and key lime tart. Everything was very high quality, fresh and perfectly cooked. Tara the waitress and other staff attentive and knowledgeable. Lovely setting indoors and out. A great time.
