We had a fantastic evening at Catherine's. Though we have been several times over the years, the food and service were even better than I had remembered. And, although it has been a few years since our last visit, the waitress remembered having served us before. Our dinners were excellent and the atmosphere is lovely. We will be back again soon.
Friends and I had dinner at Catherine's, and everyone enjoyed it. The food was as good as it was on my first visit (lunch/brunch), and the atmosphere is great. The only problems we encountered were a shortage of wait-staff and the noise of the Saturday night crowd. It was a little difficult to have a conversation.
Catherine's is a real gem, sort of located in the "middle of nowhere". Food was excellent and we would definitely eat there again if we were back in the area. BYOB is a real plus for us because then we can splurge on the food without "breaking the bank".
EXCELLANT dinning. However the parking problem and noise level detract from
Loved the soup! It was the best part of the meal, but the entree was good as well. The service was not so good. I had to ask three times for a refill of my water. The final refill was warm. They never asked if we wanted any beverages other than water. Maybe they weren't expecting the crowd they got on a Friday night at the end of May?
Food and service EXCELLENT! Quaint and romantic setting indoors and out!
Overall the food and atmosphere was great. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was fantastic. The steak was slightly over cooked but flavor was excellent.
We had a delicious meal. I had the scallops. They were cooked to perfection, and my boyfriend had salmon which he said was out of this world. If you are looking for a romantic night out, Catherine's is the place to go. Also, Lisa took great care of us.
My husband had the filet mignon and said it was the best he ever had. I had the crab cakes and they were also very good, and I especially like the rosotto side dish. We had a restaurant.com coupon otherwise we would not have gone there as the meal was a bit pricey - around $30 each for the main meal (salads are extra $). It is a BYOB, but there is a $7 corking charge which we think is ridiculous - especially if you bring a screw top so we did not BYOB but would have liked to if no extra charge. Because of this charge I only gave it a 4 start rating.
We have been dining at Catherine's since they opened in West Chester. The move to Unionville did not deter us. Excellent, eclectic menu, great desserts and wonderful staff. It's hard to believe how one brunch would be better than another but Catherine's distinguish themselves.
Had a delightful meal on the outdoor patio on a warm May night. The mushroom and crab bisque was outstanding, as always, as was my wife's goat cheese salad. Entrees of braised beef ribs over angolotti and scallops were wonderful. Creme brulee torte made a great dessert. Susan's service was terrific.
We had lunch at Catherine's about 2:00 PM on a Wednesday and were surprised to be the only customers in the restaurant. The atmosphere was very pleasant, as was our meal, a cup of delicious mushroom-crab soup with half of a sandwich. We'd like to return for dinner when we're in the area again.
Excellent goat filled ravioli with sundried tomatoes and mushroom soup. I had the special, Bass with crab and mango. Yummo!
The pork with Chinese 5 spice was too overpowering.... needed MUCH less of this and more plum sauce.
Overall experience was very good! I definitely go there again.
Our party of four ordered three different salads and entrees and they were all delicious. The service staff was friendly and very competent. Highly recommend and will definitely will visit again the next time we are in the area.
We had a wonderful dinner at Catherine's Restaurant. The restaurant has a very welcoming and comfortable feel...something that is hard to find in a fancier place. The food was absolutely amazing. Very high quality ingredients, prepared to perfection, and served with some extra personality and character. Portions were perfectly sized, and everything was served by a caring staff. Many of the ingredients are from local markets, which is also something that you don't normally find. The decor is beautiful...beautiful details everywhere you look. This is a perfect place for a meaningful dinner with friends/family or for a romantic dinner/date. Truly a special place...lots of wonderful character and amazing food and service.
Lovely little restaurant in country setting. Food above par; service impeccable. Not rushed, business casual dress .Lovely evening
Food ,service and wonderful country atmosphere makes Catherin’s a great dining experience.
Blackened tuna was delicious. Always love the food here!
Pleased to see the broadening of menu options. The food was great, per usual. Service? Top-notch. Looking forward to returning.
This was our first time here and we really enjoyed the great service, great food and loved the "quaintness" of the restaurant. The reviews stated it was upscale casual but it looked like it was basically casual. The basil dip with the bread was just out of this world. The key lime pie enough for (2) was great. The noise level was a little changeling. A little pricey but for special occasions it is worth it. We will definitely go back.
I had a great experience the first time I went to Catherine the second time was just get it was predictably great service great food very relaxing kind of atmosphere we could forget everything about where you are and what was going on and enjoy the company you were with
I have now dined here 2 times and can't wait to go back! It is cozy and delicious....a perfect date night or friend's night out! And....it's BYOB! Food is fantastic....fresh and well prepared!
Everything they put on your table is home made and fresh. It is hard to save room for your courses because you want to eat every morsel of the offering in front of you! If you can work in a cup of their mushroom soup, do it. And save room for their blueberry cobbler. It was fantastic.
I have eaten at Catherine's for Brunch and dinner numerous times and every time the experience is wonderful! Every dish I've ordered has been wonderful. The table scales are warm and the staff is so kind and attentive. I even love the bathro decor! I can't say enough!! Go Go Go!! You will not be disappointed
This is a quaint and atmospheric spot in the horsy Unionville countryside with fabulous and creative food. Service is wonderful. BYOB with
a corkage charge, but it's waived if you bring a local PA wine. Service is great. A mix of country and sophistication with fresh ingredients.
It is a favorite after being there only twice. If you want a great ride in horse country, with a terrific stop along the way for food this can't be
beaten. Actually, try "a ride for great food, with some beautiful countryside thrown in". Go for the food and service.
Food was excellent and service was fabulous. Would highly recommend to anyone.
A little out of the way, but fantastic ambiance. Greeted at the door with a smile and lasted through out the meal. We didn't feel rushed and weren't hovered over but when we were in need of anything our server was there. Definitely will be going back!
Never anything less than great food here. Agnolotti with short ribs was especially good this time around. Looking forward to the opening of the patio.
Lovely, charming, romantic, yet family-friendly place to enjoy flocal cuisine that I would like to keep a secret
Catherine's is a great local restaurant where the food is always very good and the waitstaff is welcoming. They treat you as an old friend and make sure everything is correct and to your liking. Some food is varied but have some excellent standard offerings such as the mushroom crab soup. The only issue I have is the limited parking spaces. Some of the patrons seem to think they will be the only ones dining and take up to three spaces which limits the availability. I would highly recommend Catherine's to anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion or for a romantic dinner. Reservations are a must.
We had a wonderful dinner together on a recent Friday evening. Very romantic in a candle lit dining room.
Absolutely delicious. Friendly and courteous waitstaff. Split 2 meals (bananas foster waffles and egg benedict) between my mother and I perfectly - as we asked for both sweet and savory breakfasts. Whimsical and eclectic decoration. Will definitely be returning! Best brunch I've ever had!
This was out first time dining at Catherine's. Great night out. Food and service was excellent.
We will be back.
The food was amazing. I had the lemon blueberry feta buttermilk pancakes, I highly recommend them! We went for brunch and just about everything on the menu looked delicious. The bacon is a giant slice of meat. I mean literally a slab of meat. It was awesome and delicious. The décor was beautiful. They had gorgeous flowers in mason jars. They even had them lining the walk way as you approached the door. It made me feel like we were walking down a wedding isle. All in all it was a very cute and unique place to have some amazing food. We will definitely be going back!
The location, the service, the food, the presentation and the atmosphere were the best we've had in a very long time. Very impressive.
Parking is sometimes an issue though.
We've been to Catherine's a few times now, and each was a fantastic experience. The food is both excellent and creative, and the service is top notch. We've had two different servers, and both have been friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to do those little extra things to make sure guests have an excellent experience.
Excellent service, loved the scallops and dessert! The romantic atmosphere made the evening memorable. We plan to return, this is a new favorite!
I went to Catherine's with a friend and thought the service was friendly and fast. We shared the scallop appetizer which had 3 scallops - I always feel appetizers should come out in multiples of two!! But it was very tasty. We then ordered the special entree which was a lovely sea bass with jumbo lump crab on top. I thought it was delicious and my friend and I ate every bite. After the entree, we weren't full yet, so we ordered dessert. I'm not sure if they make it in house, but the cheesecake was one of the best pieces of cheesecake I've eaten. I would definitely go back again even though it was slightly pricey, but it was worth the price for the quality of food. It's just not a price level I could go to on a weekly basis.
We returned to Catherine's after a 2 month vacation and found it as good as always. Wonderful mushroom soup, great goat cheese salad, tasty Chinese 5 spice pork chop that was a treat to the palate, and tender beef short ribs. Add in a piece of key lime pie and fine service and it made for a lovely meal. Can't wait until the patio opens.
Quaint setting, excellent food, attentive wait staff
