Catherine's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We chose this as our New Years Eve dinner. Same menu, literally doubled the price. The website did not indicate that there was a fixed menu and escalated pricing. Meal was cold not once but twice. Mushroom soup was delicious, however, the cold filet was disappointing. We felt like they struggled to accomodate a full dining room all at the same time. After sending our dinner back the restaurant staff treated us very differently. Needless to say we had a disappointing “cold” new years all around!!!
Loved everything about Catherine's, except disappointed with quality of my tuna, it was somewhat tough and a little stringy. I think it just happened to be a not so great piece. But the preparation was great. Wife had pork tenderloin with an Asian sauce which she raved about. It was quiet, which is really really hard to find nowadays. Loved the subdued candle only lighting. We will definitely go back and whole heartily recommend.
Great food and service, and definitely a place we can have a conversation. Parking might be a little bit of a challenge, but that might be because there was parking spots I was not able to discover in the dark. And the holiday bread pudding definitely hit the spot for me. Definitely recommend this place, and I will definitely be returning.
Very, very pricey. Table of four, straight salad, entre, and one dessert was $240 with tip.
Paying a $7 corkage fee is ridiculous too. Nothing special was done with wine. We had to request a way of keeping the wine chilled. It was put on the floor in a bucket.
Loved our meals - the salad special
was especially delicious (arugula, poached pear, bacon, goat & marscapone cheese, etc). Veal special was also very good. Love the shabby chic ambiance here. The only negative is the sound level. Lots of hard surfaces and the noise level gets to be extreme so it is difficult to have a conversation at all.
Absolutely lovely spot with outstanding service. Now, that said, we were the only party there, but our server was unusually attentive and accommodating. Most diners seemed to enjoy their meals. My scallops were a little strong but the crabmeat topping was plentiful and delicious. It would seem unreasonable to assume that the same chef is still there, but quite a few years ago, I found the food to be so over-peppered (black) that I had to send it back. Surprisingly, this was the case again, way too much pepper!!! So chef, please go easy with the S & P - would rather add it myself!
