This was a very loud restaurant and if you do not want to talk to your guest then this is a great place. The waitress was inaudible describing the menu. She was very nice but the overall service was very slow but to be fair, there were several large groups there and maybe this was just an off night. It would not be on my list to return.

I was sadly disappointed. Went last year for brunch, everything was decadent. However last night, the menu was obtuse, very difficult to envision. Some of the choices were good; the meatballs, scallops and pork. The veal was dry. The service wained toward the last course, say 30 minutes til we were served. I hope they figure it out, posh spot.

Food was absolutely incredible. I had the squid ink spaghetti and it was outstanding. The drinks and service was great as well. I used the valet service for the first time and somehow ended up with a parking ticket. While this has nothing to do with C&M, it was a frustrating way to wrap up an evening.

Loved the service. Second only to the food. Have recommended it several times. Flight was my number one Memphis restaurant; C&M is now my favorite. Whenever I come to Memphis from Jackson, MS, I make a point of dining here.

The service is good, the ambience is good but the food was just terrible. First they try to talk you into way too much food. People usually get 6 different pastas for a table of 7? That’s just someone who has been told to push the food. The food is way over seasoned and amazing salty. I could not even get my rings on the next day. The cheese and meat board had a few tiny pieces of cheese. Did they run out? One slide of Brie for 7 people? The vegetables were almost too spicy to eat. The duck was raw! I mean red and the black squid pasta was not edible. Someone needs to go through this menu and determine what should remain on the menu and what should be taken off the menu. I wanted this to be a special dinner for my father’s 94th birthday and I was embarrassed that I had selected it for such a special event.

The atmosphere and service is excellent. The food is very good and interesting, however, several dishes were way too salty. The prices are quite high but it's worth giving it a try.

We are frequent diners at Catherine and Mary’s. Frequent for us anyway but this most recent experience was hands down one of the best meals I have ever had in any restaurant in the world. We had friends in from Atlanta and they couldn’t believe Memphis had 1) a cool restaurant in a cool space 2) the caliber of the culinary execution 3) the perfect service ( Thank you David!!! You were phenomenal). This random Tuesday night with good friends we rarely see was made magical by our experience at Catherine and Mary’s. The cannellini beans, always perfect, started off the meal and surprised our friends who weren’t convinced we needed to order this dish. Well after they savored the first bite they understood the magical beans!!! And then couldn’t stop appreciating the flavors and creaminess. There was lots of conversation around what herbs, what’s the subtle spice. All kinds of recipe envy. We family styled the beans and everything else that followed. David, our table host, did an immaculate job of describing and recommending the pasta offerings. All homemade in house. I didn’t know they also make their own ricotta in house. The scratch made pastas were sublime. The Gnudi oh my goodness. Again our friends weren’t sold on this worried it would be too overwhelming cheesy based on David’s detailed description But nope they didn’t know quite yet this isn’t Olive Garden, no sloppy cheese oozing pasta here. Nope, it was perfection. So subtle in flavors and the homemade ricotta pasta topped with the smooth light sauce was heaven. I can’t remember the names of the other two pastas but they were just as divine. One was ravioli-ish in that it was a small stuffed pasta, again the sauce was amazing and had yummy walnuts maybe. Anyway, so so so so so good The special that night was a medium rare large cut of beef (don’t remember the name of the cut, where is David when you need him?) served with a side of fresh greens and small boiled yellow potatoe

The food was very good and the experience was heightened by the service which was excellent. Our server, Stephanie, was fantastic; despite being very busy, she found time to chat about the food and the wine. She appeared to be very knowledgeable about the latter. If she was a bit behind, she managed to pass by and let us know that they were plating our food, etc. The restaurant's vibe was great; evryone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Would love to come back and just sit at the bar, relaxing and people watching. The only minor negative was the noise level; not a place for an intimate date. Overall, a well deserved 4/5.
