Cathédrale is a French-Mediterranean restaurant by Tao Group Hospitality Chef/Partner Ralph Scamardella, in collaboration with Executive Chef Jason Hall (formerly of acclaimed restaurants like Gotham Bar & Grill, Anthos and Craft). The menu brings elemental, ingredient-driven cooking to the forefront, evoking the grandeur of the past while remaining contemporary in its execution. Dishes put pleasure over spectacle, taking inspiration from Southern France with traces of Italy, Spain and Greece as seen in our signature Potato Chip Omelette, Black Truffle Fettuccine, 14oz Entrecôte Au Poivre, as well as our 48 oz Mishima Reserve Wagyu Tomahawk.

At the heart of the feast is a 36 oz USDA Prime Dry Aged Ribeye, expertly prepared to bring out its rich marbling and deep flavor. Accompaniments are served family-style and designed to complement the Côte de Boeuf, featuring: Cathédrale's signature Salade Verte, Tomatoes à la Provençale with capers, shallots & champagne vinegar, Market Potatoes and Greenmarket Asparagus. Lovely spot, and lively spot. Food was very delicious, especially the sea bass. Although they didn’t honor the OpenTable Dining Awards they were very apologetic and accommodating and comp’d us drinks and dessert for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!

Celebrated my friend's birthday with dinner at this absolutely gorgeous venue, and it was top notch all the way around. Every staff member we encountered wished my friend a happy birthday, including the Assistant General Manager, who stopped by our table. Wait staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. But the food was the star! We shared the burrata appetizer, and then went on to the Faroe Island salmon for me, and the bronzino for my friend. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was probably the best salmon preparation I've ever tasted...and I consume a lot of salmon! We passed on dessert, but were served a small, tasty confection in honor of the occasion. Although the experience wasn't cheap, it was not over-the-top, and actually quite reasonable by Manhattan standards. I can't wait to go back again!

The space itself is top notch. The staff was friendly and accommodating. But there were some issues during the dinner. They were out of a number of items on a Saturday night. The food service itself was very slow, and the quality of one of the steaks we ordered was not in keeping with its price. Overall we still had a good time, and the space itself has a special feel, but the quality of both the service and food was a notch below where it should be.
