We have been to Catelli Duo many times for holiday's and were quite pleased. This time was different. We are not drinkers and it appears when you do not order alcohol you do not get the attention of your waitress. I did not receive 1 item I ordered, however our server did not check on us until we were almost finished our meal. I was out of water to drink as well. My wife ordered a salad as her entree, which was very skimpy for a $16.00 cost. I will think twice about going to the restuarant. On a positive note, I admire Catelli Duo does not overbook on special holiday's. We did not wait for our table, but on the flip side, not getting the necessary attention was concerning.
We love coming to your restaurant! The staff is professional and the service is excellent. It's our go-to for special occasions, date night, when we have guests in town. We especially like starting out in the outside bar - where the bartender remembers you!
They tried to seat us in some weird room in the back that seemed like a converted conference room. It seemed like it was overflow seating, but it was not decorated at all, very bright, and strikingly different than the rest of the restaurant, which itself very nice. We opted to decline the table, and chose to sit at the bar instead after they wouldn’t seat us in the main dining area.
The food was below par. Started with them not having any Yuengling for my husband. Then they had a special menu and my husband wanted the Lamb the waiter came back to say they were out of that also. We both ordered the filet, me medium well, his well done. They both came out hard as a brick. I ordered a White Russian which came So strong I couldn't even drink it. When the waiter asked me how the drink was I stated it was very strong, his response was better than being weak and walked away. To top off everything we ended up waiting for the waiter to take our credit card to pay the check for over 20 minutes. Not an enjoyable experience.
Initially the seating was not set up sufficient for 5 people. We had to ask for another table.
Waitress brought out French toast instead of French toast sticks as originally ordered. I took one of the french toast orders. When the french toast sticks were brought out, theyy were overcooked so my granddaughter did not eat them, maybe one or two.
We have eaten there before and had a great experience, but this time, it was not good.
I most say that the employees were extremely nice and patient.
I will blame it on the Super bowl. However, if anyone asks, I have no choice but to be honest. I will tell them that the employees that waited on us were extremely nice and helpful when things were brought to their attention. So give them our utmost thanks and appreciation.
We are only human after all.

The food is good but not good enough to make up for the horrible service. Every time we have eaten there we have sat for more than twenty minutes before a waiter even comes over for a drink order. The food takes even longer and when you do finally get it its cold. The waitstaff seem to not want to be bothered and by the time you leave you feel like you were in a hostage situation. It's like pulling teeth to even get the check. Having dined there for brunch and dinner with the same miserable experience I will not be eating here again.
My wife and I eat there on a regular basis. The service is always excellent and the food is also generally excellent. The reason I gave a Good rating instead of excellent is because my wife ordered a Veal Chop special and it had to be returned twice. Once it was rare and the second time well done. She ordered it medium. Finally the third time was the charm but I was already done eating. My meal, Veal Osso Bucco, was one of the best I have had. The waiter and manager were very apologetic. This is not an inexpensive entree but the manager took the Veal Chop off of our bill even though my wife did eat the meal. Very appreciative of their consideration. Many places would not take it off or offer dessert for free.
I normally have a great experience at this location. There was something a little off at my most recent visit on 1/27/18. I ordered the Shrimp cocktail, chopped side salad, and pasta my way. When my shrimp cocktail arrived it was on the metal plate that the oysters usually come on. The ice was half melted and watery and my cocktail sauce was like jello (like it was left uncovered for days in the refrigerator.) I received 4 decently large shrimp but to me it seemed like whoever was doing shrimp food prep screwed them all up. The shrimp were definitely over cooked, rubbery and hard. It also appeared that the shrimp were de-veined after they were cooked and you could the shredded edges of the cuts. I hate sending food back but I really wish I did send them back. The cost on the menu was $12 but the price came up at $18 on my receipt and they did adjust the cost for me. Chopped salad was excellent as well as my pasta my way! Our server was great. Moral of the story folks is don't ever be afraid to send something back if it is not up to restaurant quality.
I was very disappointed in my dinner. We made a reservation and were shown to a table immediately. We then sat for about 15 minutes before I got up and asked the hostess if we had a waiter. He finally came over and didn’t even apologize for taking so long. We have been to the Restraunt before and the food quality has definitely gone down. I don’t think I’ll go back.
The wait staff seems woefully under trained. They kept forgetting to bring things after they were asked. One runner delivered caponata and asked “Who got capellini?”
The fish in my ciopino was dry. My wife’s salmon was overly salted.
This is the second time we received this level of service and will probably not go back.

We were VERY disappointed that the menu had recently changed. Nothing unique about it anymore.
We are also not sure why the staff never removes our plates from our appetizers before bringing out the main dish. My husband and I were the ones making room on the table
to fit the food. Its not my job.........I could have stayed home and done that.
Also, I ordered a drink and it was terrible......pure vodka, not cold and just horrible.
I paid for it but could not even drink it. I always order the same drink there and the last time it was a waste of my money. So if you are asking for an overall rating I would give it 2 stars.
We will probably not be eating there as much anymore.........its a shame because its close to home and we really enjoyed it...............
Went on New Years Eve and it was a set 4 course menu. Food looked like and tasted like a microwave meal. Overpriced steak was more than 3/4 fat. My dirty CEO (Vodka martini with blue cheese olives), had no blue cheese in the olives. My salad came out with no dressing. I flag down the waiter and he brings this little bowl of yellow liquid. What ever it was, I have never had that taste in my mouth and I hope I never do again. I wanted a good meal on New Years, didn't even come close. I would have been better off at Passariello's or even a stouffer's lasagna.
Food was amazing as always. Service was disappointing. Our server kept disappearing for long periods of time. He’s be visible at other tables then disappeared into kitchen. He dropped the check long after our coffee cups were empty and plates pushed off to the side and then did not return for more than 10 minutes (I timed it). It was to the point that we had to ask a manager to run our credit card. When we left, our server had still not returned. Have mixed feelings about returning.
Usually it’s great here but due to the NYE holiday we were seated in their banquet room with a very wobbly table and a TV on the wall right next to us. And our server was completely out of it. Walked by us without taking our payment probably 7 times. Not to mention the extremely slow service the entire time prior to this.
We went to an early New Years Eve dinner. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our 5:30pm reservation to enjoy happy hour at the bar. We ordered cheesesteak egg rolls,which on the happy hour menu are $4. But when we received the bar bill we were charged full price,$9.
Our bartender said he must have put it in wrong and that he's sorry. That didn't fix the problem.
We then were seated for our meal. I saw Sunday Gravy advertised, which was also the reason we decided eat here, and I tried to order it. The waiter said he didn't think that was being served and he would check. He returned and said the Sunday Gravy was not available that evening. Why? I saw the advertisement? So, we both ordered something else, even though it wasn't what we came for.
We were very unhappy with our evening. The happy hour appetizer was over charged and our meals were not what we came for.
Would it have been so wrong to give people what you advertise?
This was perhaps the worst experience with service at a restaurant I have ever had. The waiter we had was terrible. The drink order was wrong. The waiter was inattentive. Our dinner order was wrong and when brought to the waiters attention he did nothing to correct it. The food was pedestrian and the drinks were more ice than drinks. Overall it was a terrible experience I would point out to open table that the previous section that asks what I would recommend this restaurant for is flawed. It assumes I would recommend this restaurant at all. There is no choice labeled I would not recommend this restaurant. If there were I would have selected it.
Decent food, poor service:
We walked in at 1:30pm on a Thursday. The restaurant was not full. We were advised that a large group (fourteen people) had just sat down, so the kitchen would be a bit delayed _and they would seat us when they could_.
We told the greeter to seat us - it would be better to wait seated (presumably, with a drink, and maybe some bread) than to stand at the entrance. She had to get the manager's approval for that. The manager was not particularly personable but agreed.
We were not attended until 2:05pm - 20 minutes beyond the 1:45pm we were advised about.
Water was brought. Not bread (which had been promised).
Food finally came at around 2:40pm.
The restaurant was a bit noisy - while half full. It would be intolerable when full.
Temperature control was not adequate - it was cool to cold (sometimes there was a cool draft).
When the food was brought out, two of our four diners had ordered soup ... and no spoons were brought. We had to ask for them.
Of the various staff who we saw in the first 45 minutes we were in the restaurant, only one was competent; the rest ranged from inattentive to incompetent to unpleasant.
Shortly before we left, we noticed at least a couple of other recently arrived staff members who seemed much more present and service minded.
For all the good reviews that this restaurant has, we'd have to hope that today was just a particularly off day; we will not be returning to test that theory.
We celebrated a special anniversary... our first date, tonight. We love coming here because not only is the food delicious, and the atmosphere is warm and happy, but the staff is really friendly. They always remember us and say hi, which makes such a difference. It’s cozy here in the winter and really pleasant in the summer too. We have so many favorite dishes here, too many to list.
