Catelli Duo - Voorhees Ratings and Reviews
We go to Catelli Duo a few times a month and have really enjoyed the excellent friendly service. The wine choices are very good, and we have several favorite foods: veggie board with hummus, pasta with crab or bolognese sauce, crab cakes.... We just can’t say enough about the servers and managers. See you soon:)
Catelli Duo is always amazing. Food is always delicious and the servers are very nice and knowledge of the menu. My last time here Ian was my waiter and he did a fantastic job on going over the menu since I was here with two new customers. The calamari and stuffed long hots for appetizers are always great and I tried the Zuppa Di Pesce for my dinner and it was wonderful. Also bread pudding dessert is amazing. Everything was perfect. I will definitely be back.
I have been to Catellis Duo many times. It was a favorite.
The experience last Saturday was chafing.
• the wine pour seemed on the stingy side to my dining friend and myself. We asked our server. He responded that's supposed to be 5 oz. yet we saw other nearby tables with fuller glasses.
• my appetizer was 20 min after than my friends appetizer
• our bread came out apx 15 min after her app-but before mine arrived
The service was very lacking in customer service. Our server didn't seem too interested in going the extra mile. Just selling us more food. Frankly- we couldn't wait to leave. At nearly $50.00 p.p. The lack of extra service was sorely missed. I won't be back for a while. A bad experience lingers.
Thought you would wanna know. Thank you.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Catelli Duo Voorhees. We had drinks first at the bar. It was happy hour ! He really liked the clams casino and the spinach salad was delicious. Had short rib entree and seafood pasta. Both were excellent. Our server was attentive and cordial. We'll be going back for happy hour .
Went out for a bite with my friend to catch up on things. It was a very lovely meal. The Lobster Bisque was absolutely devine and the Eggplant Napoleon was delicious as well. We tried the suggested wine of the evening for $6 per glass and it was quite nice as well. All around a very relaxing and enjoyable meal on a rainy Sunday evening!
The food was better than good, but not great. While our waiter was pleasant and accomodating, service was sporadic at best. Specifically, after the busperson poored our water, it was more than 5 minutes before we saw a staff person for drink or appetizers, and that person was the manager(Jay) who inquired about our visit. I was honest about the wait and he was very willing to remedy that situation. However, later when I ordered a draft beer, it was another 10 minute wait. Finally, it was about another 10 minute wait for our dessert order...berries and biscotti. Seemed like a long wait for a dish that requires little/no prep?
My first time there was a few months ago and as soon as we sat down, they brought the table this chocolate chip marble cake to start off while we read the menu. That did not happen this time. Also I live for the bacon but it was great this time. It was overcooked. I still recommend the place but I was disappointed a little bit this time around.
While the waiter was courteous, his approach was off. I think this is do to the training the wait staff received. The girl who filled our water glasses, spilled water on the table and left it there. Even before we were asked if we would like to order a drink, we were told the specials. Our appetizers came before we were given bread. It was just a very rushed evening. My boyfriend and I were out for a nice dinner, and I could have just as easily gone to the local diner for the same experience. We had to slow our down 2 or 3 times, or else we could have been in and out in 45 minutes. Not good for a restaurant that wants to be seen as a 3 or 4 star restaurant. We have been coming to Catelli since they opened and after each visit. It is not what it started out to be. This is sad. It could be so much better with just a little better training.
Firstly, we've been to this location about 10 times, usually very pleased with the experience and food. Unfortunately, this visit was mediocre. We had a 6 pm reservation and we're seated promptly...with water service moments later.... however, that's where the experience went downhill. After the water was served, we eventually had to have someone hunt down our waiter, as no one approached our table after 15 minutes! Our entrees arrived quickly, so quickly that they were served before we got our appetizers! The entrees were pulled away and we were told by our waiter that he would get the appetizer and have new entrees fired off after. We were served the very same entrees that originally came to the table....not Good!!! We were hungry and tired of waiting, so we ate them and said nothing.....noting that Catelli Duo may be losing their once brilliant shine.
I really enjoyed my birthday here at Catelli Duo. The restaurant was cozy and beautifully decorated for the fall season. I did find it a bit noisy for two people intending intimate conversation. The blackened chicken and Capellini Catelli with shrimp and white sauce was nicely seasoned although we were not told it (chicken)would be as spicy. We saw our waitress a little less than we liked, but there were other willing helpers. The tiramisu was not as creamy as could be, but had a nice touch of a single candle for my special day. Afterwards we went outside to enjoy the live music. The beer garden was lovely.
Nice to be back, it is a great spot, the food is terrific and the dishes are very creative yet tasty. My wife had a wonderful margherita and our salads and entrees were superb, Chris is a great waiter and the hostess on duty was very cordial. This is a must try venue!
The food was delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and knew the menu well. My only complaint was the wait time between appetizer and entree as well as between entree and dessert. We waited an hour between appetizer and entree. The food was great, but still, that was a long wait. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and will visit there again!
I have been to this location before and have always had great food and great service. That was definitely not the case this past Saturday.
We just happened to find the specials without being told about them with our server. They looked great! So we ordered one strip steak medium- rare and to salmon and asparagus specials. The salads and soups we ordered were good, and the fresh bread was also very good. When our entrees came out on the other hand, the entire meal went downhill. The steak came out well done. The salmon and asparagus came out in two parts, so we assume that the first part was part of the special and the other was coming out later. We were wrong. The server rang in a different dish with some risotto and not the special. Even though we clearly pointed out the special. We decided to try the salmon anyway since we had already started it but could not finish it because it was completely covered and drenched in salt. This was quite possibly the worst salmon and I've ever had. The risotto was good, but bland. After about 10 to 15 minutes after everyone else had finished eating, the steak came out properly cooked. The manager came to correct the situation by removing the two specials in providing an extra discount. Yet for the value of the dinner costing still, $220, it left much to be desired.
Catelli Duo might still be a great place for an appetizer and drinks sitting outside, but as far as risking a special occasion dinner, never again.
Our dinner was salty salty. If nothing else it was way over-the-top salty. My husband had cheese steak rolls for appetizer. Sauce was salty. His crab bisque was also very salty and tasteless. Another appetizer was stuffed long hots. The long hots would've been fine but deep frying them really ruined it. I had the branzino for dinner which was very good but again salt should be left behind. Let the person put their own salt on the food. Crab bisque was also very salty and tasteless. The atmosphere at the bar outside was very nice and there was live music. Other than that I would not recommend.
Food was great as per usual. But the service staff and food runners didn't seem to know what they are doing. When a food runner can't tell the difference between Mac and cheese and gnocchi ... that's a problem. Food and drinks were VERY slow to get to us (especially the cocktails-which also came out 4 times with out limes as my husband specifically asked for each time with his bourbon). More training all around is required. I waitressed for most of my life so I usually tend to side with the workers. In this case I was not able to, especially with the lack of patrons. Lots of open tables
Food was awesome although apps were not very hot. We ordered the short rib meatball and cheese steak egg rolls and both were great just not hot. Our entrees were hot. The service was really bad. The waiter did not speak clearly or loud enough and was not very well versed when it came to the menu. I ordered a Manhatten and he didn't know what it was. He had to come back to the table to ask me what was in it bc there was not button on the register for it. Definitely tainted our experience.
