One of the top 10 meals I’ve ever had. Service was great, ambience and view were amazing and food was even better. Great value for what we ate and drank. Couldn’t recommend more.
Awesome food, service and view of the ocean.
It was great environment for what we came to do and service was good
Was great experience overall definitely would redo this venue anytime!!
Food is very mediocre and all American but if you get a good table it’s great
Drinks and food were absolutely amazing! Great service!
Food was good, ambience was wonderful. Very beautiful restaurant.
Food was terrible. Drinks terrible. Desert terrible. Service slow. Comparing this to Catch in La, terrible.
Giving this 1 star simply because our waiter was so sincere and accommodating. And the vibes were great. It was a perfect rooftop setting for date night. Except when you start to eat. $200 later and my boyfriend and I both left starving. We ordered chicken lettuce cups which were decent at most and lobster Avacado sushi roll which was super fishy in my opinion. Which made me change my mind about ordering the salmon. So I ordered the crispy chicken thinking I can’t go wrong. Dry and bland. Could hardly even swallow it without chasing it down with water. My boyfriends 10oz steak (I believe it was 10oz) was more like maybe 3oz of edible meat bc the rest was extremely fatty. We ordered grilled asparagus, sautéed mushrooms, and parm truffle fries as sides. Mushrooms tasted BAD. When I say bad I mean tasteless and like they were expired. And the fries and asparagus were DECENT at most. I usually don’t like to leave reviews especially negative ones but I thought I’d share my full experience here because it is an eye catching place and you’d think you can’t go wrong based off of catch New York. Wrong. Avoid this place if you’re looking for a good meal that’s WORTH YOUR DOLLAR. This place is better for drinks and lounging. Definitely not fine dining.
More of a place for young people - lots of drunk people - the table next to us was very noisy and swearing and saying very inappropriate slurs/things for a dinner setting. I think the wait staff should have stepped in and told them to cut the language or leave. Not a romantic date night setting although it was a very beautiful setting - maybe we should have come earlier.
Food was amazing!! Thanks chef!
Excellent waiter: Arturo
Excellent wait staff: Antonio
Excellent bartender: Javier - we loved talking with him! Super approachable and friendly
Food was so so! I was expecting better but the scallop dish I ordered was not the same as the menu description when it arrived. They were also undercooked and I’ve never had a scallop in a restaurant that wasn’t seared. It made them a little mushy since they weren’t seared. I would have expected more from Catch for scallops
Food quality was good, amazing views. Service was slow and not at the level I would have expected.
It was a good dinner, service was outstanding!!! Nice terrace with a very good view and sea breeze.
The food was terrible and very expensive given it’s Mexico, nothing like the Catch in NYC...
60th birthday. Called directly to advise. Downstairs hostess asked if special occasion. I said yes, friend’s 60th. Upstairs hostess asked if special occasion. I said yes, friend’s 60th. She asked his name and She wrote on a small note card HBD Lynn. Never heard more or got any acknowledgment.
Hot and fans in dining not on.
We said “yum” and “oh, that’s good” countless time. Especially recommended are the mushroom spaghetti (we shared it as a starter), and the scallops (perfection).
Needless to say—the view is stunning as well. I consider this a must-do in Playa.
Food was trash. Nothing like the Catch in LA or NY. Don’t waste your time dining here!!!!
Food was great had the snapper. Get the spinach salad!
Super loud dance music. Went at 8pm. Would have loved it if it wasn't so LOUD
Beautiful views and ambiance. Food is good enough, but the environment makes up for it
Our waiter was terrible, he did not check on us throughout the night or help with the bill. We were confused. The food is delicious and the view is cute but that is it. Would not recommend because service is poor.
The service was terrible and food was mediocre
Food was fantastic! Our waiters were extremely nice, although seemed a bit overworked as catch did not have enough staff on the floor - could just be covid related.
Food service was slow. For the price we paid it the entrees were just ok. Food came
Out very sporadic
As always, Catch is an exceptional restaurant in Playa Del Carmen. The best service from a restaurant in all of Playa Del Carmen. The food is great and I give 5 stars for value because they give a 25% discount to locals (show a Quintana Roo driver license).
This is my 3rd Catch location!! I loved the food, the menu, the atheistic, the waitstaff. I loved everything about it except for the saxophone guy. He was too much and I could have done without it. I will for sure come back to Catch but hopefully he is not there again!
Thanks for a wonderful night catch!
Overall food was okay! Lack of flavor
Great staff, excellent food. Very cool rooftop setting with a variety of menu choices.
Food was awesome!! Best dining experience we’ve had in riviera maya
We order a wine and gives a used bottle, not what we order very bad wine
Service was poor
Ce fut une soirée agréable avec un serveur qui parler français et très aimable les plats était bon .
As we were a large party (avid restaurant goers from NYC with refined palates) - we ordered a bunch of everything on the menu to share for the table. The food was unmistakably awful. Everything we ordered with raw fish (with the exception of the sushi) was extremely fishy - everything else - was just not good.. The cauliflower was not cooked through, yet fried - & the flavour profile was non existent. The tacos were very limey - in fact all we could taste was guacamole & lime. Meat was all overcooked & chewy. I’ve never left a restaurant hungry, or without a single bite of food in my system. Just a disaster. Avoid at all costs.
We had a great time! The view is beautiful and the place has great ambience. The food is very good but a bit overpriced, in other words the value is not worth it. The service was good, but at the beginning we had to call several waiters for them to take us the order, and the place wasn’t crowded. Besides that, everything went great and they were very kind. The food arrived very fast.
It is a great place to celebrate a birthday
Amazing atmosphere and attentive service!
Amazing service and the rooftop vibe was awesome! Food was good but portions were small for price. Great drinks! I would highly recommend!!
A very nice experience at Catch. The seafood was fresh, the service was good, and the beverages were tasty. I'll be back.
