This was the first time I have been to Catch. The overall meal was excellent, but I gave it a 4 only because one of the dishes was very overcooked and Catch was already sold out of the Red Snapper for 2 that was one of the reasons we were coming to Catch.
The truffle sashimi was delicious! The flavours were subtle but noticeable at the same time. The shrimp dish was also cooked well, the sauce not being overpowering but complementing the shrimp balls. The wagyu steak was also a beautiful cut of meat. The only disappointment was the octopus. The octopus was simply way too well done. The potatoes were made perfectly and it was a shame the octopus was so chewy as to be almost inedible.
A special mention to our server, Meghan. (sorry if misspelled). Meghan was able to elevate the meal by her attention to detail, her fantastic personality and truly made a good experience that much better. Kudos to my new favourite Belgian!!
The most brutal part of going to any catch location is the wait, both in vegas and LA have I had to wait 30-40 minutes to get a table WITH RESERVATIONS!!!! Overall food was incredible, way too noisy for our taste, very kind staff I’d give it a 4 out of 5
Service was poor
Beautiful setting, delicious brunch food, solicitous service, a little pricey but worth it for a birthday celebration
My friend was visiting from out of town so I wanted to take her to the "best restaurant in town" supposedly. We had brunch reservations this past saturday at 230. Once we were seated the first thing the waitress said was "you know you need to be out of here by 3:45 right? did they tell you that?" in the most aggressive way. Both my friend and I were shocked and caught off gaurd. Apparently the reseraurant was reserved for a holiday party so we had to leave by a certain time. The waitress was SO incredibly rude, speaking so fast like she didnt give a damn about any of us. we'd call her as she walked away and she purposely wouldnt answer. she even looked at me at the corner of her eye bc i said pretty loudly "EXCUSE ME" to try to get her attention and she still walked away. it was so awkward and demeaning. makes my stomach turn till this very second. we didnt know what to do. I was going to ask for her manager but I didnt want to cause even more of a scene. Our vill was almost $200. This is completely unaccepatble treatment for a high end restaurant like Catch. I am a social media influencer with over 50k followers and I'm verified, so I took to social media. Im not sure I will ever come back quite frankly.
I am a frequent diner at Catch NY so was looking forward to my visit at Catch LA. Upon arrival my friends and I checked in for our 9:15pm reservation, our hostess let us know that we needed to wait a few minutes but wouldn’t give any time estimate. We ended up waiting for ALMOST TWO HOURS. After a lengthy wait, they sat us under some crummy tent area, we asked if we could take one of the empty tables inside but they told us that there were already reservations for those tables. Well, those tables actually stayed empty for the duration of the night. For the cost of this restaurant, dining experience is just as important as the food itself and I was not impressed. Would only recommend Catch to those coming to New York.
Our reservation was at 9, we got seated by 10. The crispy whole snapper was less than expected. The fish itself did not have enough meat and didn’t taste good either.
Though the food and drinks were amazing, I was so put off by the pretentious service that I would not go again nor would I recommend it to friends. The evening started off lovely and welcoming with a beautiful ambiance and immediate service. We ordered a few of their chef’s specials to start off, which were absolutely delicious, however, very small portions. When we asked one of the servers for a menu to order more food, we were condescendingly told that the kitchen is designed to take the order all at once. She begrudgingly handed us another menu and took her time to come back to take our order. This was never explained to us when we were seated. Regardless, at $400 for a party of two, this is in no way my idea of a fine dining experience.
Waited over 1 1/2 hours after my reservation to be seated. I asked for the manager and he claims that the time that the reservation was made is not guaranteed. You’re guaranteed only to get a table. Horrible experience as these was for a birthday celebration and the night was ruined.
We had to wait 40 min for our table regardless of the “reservation”. When we were being seated they went to seat us in the back and it was my guest from Belgium’s first time so I wanted her to have the full experience so I told the host this and asked to be moved to a nicer table up front and she was snotty about it and said I’d have to wait another hour if I wanted any other table. I talked to another hostess who was happy to help and moved us to a great table immediately. The food and atmosphere was great and they gave us a complimentary appetizer for having to wait so long for the table.
We had 8:30 reservations we got there on time they made us wait for 1:20 minutes they claim they had no tables but the floor the tables were empty. We spend $200 in drinks still no table. People would walk with no reservations and they would get seated right away. Then I saw people are putting money in the hostess hand so she would seat them right away. They gave us table after 1 :20 minutes by the toilet. We asked them why can you seat us on the empty tables in the middle they said does are reserved for celebrities that may come in. We finished dinner and still the tables were empty. Overrated, no respect for the customer unless u are someone famous. Expensive and waist of time to have dinner and wait so long.
Food is good. Service is horrible. From the moment you walk in you feel a nasty attitude. From the host to the terrible waitress. They really need to change this. Would not recommend this place.
Birthday. Dinner was very good!
Always thought Catch was overrated until I actually went to eat there myself! The service and ambiance were splendid. The Coconut Kale Chicken Salad was incredible in terms of size and flavor. The miso cod wraps were also delectable. The Salmon Farro bowl, however, was quite disappointing. It didn't look as appetizing as it sounded and the salmon came out completely overcooked. Otherwise, my experience at Catch was very enjoyable.
I was disappointed they put us in a side room and not the main areas despite requesting it
The view and scenery is what really makes this place. Definitely worth it.
Amazing evening for my 30th birthday. We enjoyed the full lobster with broccoli and fries sides. Amazing. Would definitely recommend. Lovely setting and great service.
We had our rehearsal dinner at
food is good，everthing is good，but the service at the front of bar was rude
Sadly to say we found a hair in our food tonight, the manager was kind to take it off the bill but still we spent around 300. It just wasn’t the same. It left a sour taste in my baby’s mouth. Not going back anytime soon, too many places to go to back to the catch
Great service and great food. Ambience was amazing.
We went to Catch La for the second year on a row on Thanksgiving and for the second year in a row the meal was outstanding. The turkey and stuffing was very moist and flavorful
The rooftop entry way is stunning. My server was kind and attentive. The food was incredible. The drinks were pricey for what they were but I had two anyway. Will be back again.
Es war ein bisschen zu kalt im Restaurant, da der Tag regnerisch war. Der Rest war aber top und ich würde für jeden ‚besonderen Anlass‘ wieder hingehen, damit es für immer etwas Spezielles und Besonderes bleibt.
Absolutely delicious! Truffle sashimi was to die for. All the flavors were there an the service an ambience was fabulous!
Great food, great service, but upset about our table location. We were squeezed in between two other couples and would’ve liked much more privacy as we could hear conversations on both sides of us.
The food was exquisite!!! Drinks were delicious!
The food was good, but they need to be thorough with it. There are something in the wine, which ruined the impression.
Check your wine vintage at this restaurant. We almost were scammed. We ordered a specific vintage and our server attempted to fool us by bringing out a different vintage that cost less than what we ordered. Instead of letting us know he pretended it was the vintage we ordered and went on about his business. After a few sips my husband says this tastes slightly different than the one we have at home, not bad, just different. He looks at the bottle and notes the vintage date is two years later than what we ordered. And mind you almost 75 dollars less per the menu. When we asked our waiter why he didn’t tell us the waiter said they had run out of our vintage and this one was actually the same characteristics and flavor. Not even true and it costs less and you were not changing the bill and you didn’t even tell us sir?! And we know wine.Translation: The waiter thought we would not notice and was prepared to charge us more for something that clearly cost less, and he got caught. Then the manager comes over and listens and agrees with us and apologizes and charged us for cost of vintage we received. How many other unsuspecting customers has this scam been pulled?! For a supposed top restaurant in Los Angeles I would expect the one thing you would not do is try to represent an expensive wine with a less expensive one and hope your customers do not notice. Disappointed. We wanted to make this restaurant a new go to and just feel like they tried to insult our intelligence and even this morning I am still left feeling Angry and curious if others had this done to them. If you go here, Check what you order carefully! Check the vintage of the wine to make sure it matches the one you order carefully. If the waiter is moving too fast or perhaps even covers the date while pouring stop and pay attention or you might be leaving with a slightly higher bill for something you never had the opportunity to enjoy. It’s called integrity and it means a lot to me!
It was all super delicious!! Great food, great ambiance, great time!!
Great place, good food, great vibe, and like most things in LA, waaaaay overpriced. You cough up the bread, though, because it’s a fun dining experience
Waiter was not knowledgeable of many food items and gave terrible service.... of all three catch restaurants i have dined at this was my least favorite experience
We were there earlier today for brunch celebrating our daughter's 20th birthday. After a 20 minute wait we were seated at an indoor table although we specifically requested an outside table. We were told they did not have enough waiters to serve outside... I don't understand how difficult it is for a waiter to take 5 extra steps to take the food out on the patio???
We ordered a large seafood tower for $170 which they presented nicely but didn't justify the price and a few cocktails. Please pass on the bloody marys and the belinis.. waste of money. Our daughter's food arrived with a short curly black hair on top of the eggs which we sent back. Our waiter was nice but the managers need to brush up on their customer service skills. They seemed to be very careless and unapologetic.
The rest of the entrees were ok ,nothing to write home about. We requested one of the desserts for our daughter and were told they cannot serve it until dinner...which was about an hour later 🙄..
The plates came at different times where some members of our party were eating while others were still waiting for their food. I get that everyone wants to try this place due to its location and pretty entrance , but I think it can use some retraining for the staff, the bartender who mixes drinks needs to actually taste his creations because they lack flavor and when you try to pass as a $$$$ restaurant, then make sure the food is great and hairless!!
Made a reservation for 9:45 a week in advance. I knew it was going to be busy because it was a Saturday and because it’s Catch, so a very popular place. And I had heard that you usually have to wait up to 25 min after your reservation time to actually get seated. But we didn’t get sat until almost 11pm, which was over an hour past our reservation time. There is no seating for guests that have to wait for an hour to get their table, so I was standing in heels just waiting for them to “come find us”. Which seemed sketchy in the first place because it was SO packed. So we kept checking in about every 20 minutes. It was clear that people who were “somebody” and who even came in later than us got seated before us. I know LA can be like this, but this time it was ridiculous. They also forgot to put in our order for Lobster Mac, so it came out by the time we were already done eating everything else. I had much higher hopes for my experience but sadly it was the low light of my weekend in LA.
El lugar es muy agradable, el ambiente de lo mejor , el servicio bueno y los drink de 10
Had a reservation and we were finally seated over an hour past our dining time. It’s not that we showed up late, we were 15 minutes early to check in. 8:45 reservation and seated after 10:00. Ridiculous even for Los Angeles.
Catch LA is by far one of my favorites. Great ambiance and mind blowing food. Each bite is a trip down a separate rabbit hole of pleasure.
