What Insiders Are Saying
A nightclub pretending to be a restaurant, but with an actually decent seafood menu.
everything was fine even the atmosphere and the environment however the amazing staff
fantastic food and great service. we were seated right away and the service was very timely and the waitress had very concise information about the menu
Great food with a great atmosphere.
Great food , good ambient . Great place for a special occasion .
Food was to the highest standard, for the price paid I wouldn't expect any less. If you have a booking don't hold your breath that you will be seated straight away, we waited almost 35 minutes to be seated at the table we booked 4 weeks ago. The front desk staff are mediocre at best and act like they're doing you a favour even talking to you. Our waiter was great, attentive and provided excellent service throughout the evening. All in all I wouldn't visit again, there's many other great spots to check out in LA, this one is definitely overrated.
Our server Megan was great, this place is worth the splurge
Loved it! Best service and best food and best views
Delicious food, beautiful ambiance and great service.
Loved the environment , decor and everything about the main seating area once we got there. The hostest with red hair and glasses is rude, to everyone. But the food, the service and the drinks outside of her were fantastic. And it has great lighting for pictures 😂
Our (female) bartenders ignored us for about 15 minutes while serving men behind and around us. It was like we were invisible. Once we were seated, we were moved because the bussers accidentally cleared a table that someone was sitting at who had gotten up to smoke. Food was mediocre, not worth the price, and really atrocious service! Totally expected more from this place.
I've been to CATCH NYC many times, and CATCH LA not only meets the standard, but possibly exceeds them with their 360-degree rooftop views of West Hollywood and Los Angeles. It's definitely a "sceney" LA hot spot with the who's who of celebrities and on-lookers. The cauliflower was tremendous, sushi was good, the raw bar was superb and the cocktails divine. Obviously, it's a bit pricy, but you're paying for the ambience, location, and atmosphere as well.
I experienced Horrible service! Over priced as well
Very rude reception staff, almost insulting
Totally disorganised, waited 1 hour for a booked table and nobody cared
To be avoided
Love everything about it. Food is top notch. Ambience on rooftop is hard to beat with amazing interior decor. The service is impeccable with efforts that are on it! XOXO #fab
First time at Catch and I would totally recommend to anyone stopping in LA even for a few days, this is a must!
The energy was amazing for a Wednesday night. It was busy and packed!
We went there because we thought the fish and seafood was the best in LA...however we found out octopus and mahi majo fish were not so fresh. I won’t recommend it because the food is not up to the price your pay. Atmosphere is nice but music is too loud if you wanna talk
Pricey but Great. I look forward to eating at this restaurant again.
Very expensive for average food
Service was super good
Whispering angel 2017 French Rose was $85 compared to $50 at lunch the next day at the Ivy....why?
You can dine only for two hours which was very inconvenient for us celebrating a birthday
Great food. Fun place but we got seated 35 minutes late with a reservation and they were not busy at all.
Very displeased with the fact I made a reservation and arrived early, only to be sat 30 minutes after the reservation time. Seats were way too close together... Felt like we were dining with the tables next to us. But food was great... Don't think I'll return though.
The food was amazing especially the Spanish octopus dish. Wait staff was super friendly and the ambience felt welcoming.
Outstanding service from our waiter and amazing food as always.
Clearly rushing and very disorganised. The service was terrible from the hostess to the wait staff. The food was salty and cold and we had to wait a long time to be seated even with a reservation, at the end the waiter forgot our dessert order.
I love everything about this place must go and dine
Terrible service. We had a reservation and still had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. At that time there were still a ton of open reservation times on open table. Why are you still accepting new reservations when you can’t handle your current requests?!?!
Then, once we got to the table, the waitress failed to communicate the pre fixe option, which caused some confusion since only some of the table had the pre fixe details in their menu. We had only ordered drinks at that point but the waitress failed to be flexible and still let us order from that menu, even though the communication error was on their end.
The food was good but I’ve had equally good food other places (that seat you on time for your reservation and aren’t as stuck up and rude).
Do yourself a favor and spend your time somewhere else. Not worth it.
My major complaint for the evening was the long wait after checking in for our 8:45 reservation. We were not seated until after 10:00, so a reservation is worthless here. The waitress was also on the rude side.
The food was delicious! But had to wait 1 hour and 30 min to be seated after our reservation with no even apology and then the waiter was rude after
The vibe of Catch is great for anybody looking for an energetic, happy crowd. The bartenders, as busy as they can get, are attentive and quick, and the drinks are fantastic. The plates are perfect for sharing, so go expecting to order many different bites.
We went on a Saturday night. The restaurant was so overcrowded that the noise level was way too loud, you had to shout to have a "normal" conversation. Food was good, service was good. We didn't have to wait too long to be seated.
Always enjoy my time at Catch. The food never disappoints. We had some great specials recommended to us by our server (the wagyu gyoza were DELISH). Our server (I think Christina was her name? She was Australian) was so fun, the absolute best. From her wine rec to the food, this biddy was on brand. But actually, she made sure our experience was a positive one and we really appreciated the time and attention she gave to us. We sat outside on the terrace which is lovely. The only deterrent to our experience was the wait to be greeted when we arrived at the host stand.
Great evening with myself and my 18-year-old daughter. My birthday the coming week and she is getting ready to go off to college As a freshman. Service was tremendous food was outstanding recommendations were spot on.
The food was simply off the chain. The salmon sesame truffle amazing
Food came out too quickly. Salad came seconds after appetizer and entrees arrived while still eating salad. Felt rushed to leave. Staff seemed bothered by customers.
It was awesome!
Made reservations, but still had to wait 45 mins. Puts a bad taste in my mouth from the beginning. Took 20 mins to get a drink finally. Finally got seated and waiters would just walk by, but no one came to our table. Table got seated after us and ordered their food and got their drinks before anyone even greeted us and got a drink order. After 20 mins of being ignored I got up and left, which Ive never done before. I'm not about to spend $200+ on drinks and a meal after being treated so poorly.
I have heard so many great things about catch, naturally I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, I stood at the bar for about 30 minutes and was IGNORED the entire time. Also I was seated 40 minutes after my reservation had started and I showed up 30 minutes early too. The food was ok, quality was lacking. I did enjoy the Mahi-mahi tacos and the ambiance, but other than that, I would not return.
Our reservation was at 8.30 but we weren’t seated until around 9.15 and this was only after hustling the maitre-d - by then I had lost my appetite. The oysters and fish tartare were good but the whole grilled fish was a little dry. The restaurant looks good and it’s certainly a scene but I would rather lose the scene and be seated on time.
The service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly friendly and competent.
The food was was very good also.
The only downside was the price which didn’t match the experience.
I’m not from LA so I may not understand the value proposition.
