Lively, informal and fun. Eclectic Mediterranean cuisine offering needed variety in the Coachella Valley restaurant scene. Very good food and service - well-priced. Will definitely return.
From the time we walked in the door the hostesses and servers were extremely nice and gracious. The servers and bussers were the same. Everyone was smiling and focused on the customers. The food was delicious - the olives and fish dip apps, and especially the octopus, were divine. My Greek Uncle LOVED the lamb. It was a Bonus to have the Spanish guitar player live! We had a wonderful experience and will definitely go back!
My favorite restaurant in the Valley. Food is really special. So happy we live nearby.
Our group of five sat at a nice corner table. Loved the atmosphere. Excellent service. Limited, but good menu choices. I had the black spaghetti with shrimp and clams, quite good. Interesting wine list, reasonably priced. Wednesday wine was half-price! I would definitely go back, and/or recommend it to a friend.
Seemed like Catalan was short a server... the waiter was very professional and personable but his time at the table was short with long periods between visits.
Another wonderful dining experience. The staff and service is outstanding and the PAELLA is to die for!
I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time! It surpassed my expectations. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. Took great friends that I hadn’t seen for a while and wanted to really treat them and this was amazing. They were impressed and I will be back very soon!
Another great evening out with the Catalan team, great food, great service. Enough said.
While vacationing in Palm Desert my wife and I had dinner at Catalan twice. Both times the service was great, the food very tasty and the wine outstanding. We love this place and will return during our next visit to the area.
Compared to the past the service has improved, everyone seems to be more friendly and attentive.
The lamb loins on top of the cauliflower purée was fantastic as well as the paella.. so delicious with so many pieces of seafood. We were so fortunate to have this amazing experience .
Love this place! The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is always delicious. Definitely on my list of favorite places in the area. We went for Fried Chicken Dinner night (1st Sunday) and it is fabulous. But I also love this place for dinner any night and happy hour is wonderful too.
Another great meal of their Sunday Fried Chicken dinner.
We went for their once-a-month fried chicken dinner. It was piping hot...3 pieces (breast, thigh, leg) and was delicious. It was NOT greasy. This is a great find. The 2 side dishes were well prepared and the gravy was placed to the side...perfect!
My favorite Rancho Mirage restaurant. Service is special and the food delicious.
Very nice Mediterranean restaurant. The paella was not typical, but was very good and filled with seafood. We went early and had the special, prix fixe available between 5-6 in the restaurant area. That menu has a wide variety of choices for everyone. I would highly recommend the restaurant, the staff was very friendly and attentive.
Fantastic place to eat!!! Amazing food.
Very welcoming staff and ambiance. We were easily accommodated to share a variety of dishes and plates. Love the grilled octopus.
Three of us went here for dinner last Sunday. It was our first time. We sat in their inside courtyard which was well appointed with heaters and very nice decor.
We enjoyed a paella for two, and my husband had the lamb ragout over rigatoni. All the meals were fantastic and generous. The paella was loaded with seafood too. We also shared an arugula salad that was equally delicious.
We had a nice bottle of albarino wine (white spanish style) and cocktails to start.
Everything we tried we truly enjoyed, we will be back with friends.
From the greeting at the front door to the menu selection, service and food...everything was top drawer. Delicious cocktails and perfect sangria landed on our table prior to ordering. Appetizers were spot on: romaine salad with chicken skin chicharron & anchovy dressing & the chicken livers were sooo good. Moved on to the Kobe steak special & the Diver sole with Catalan spinach with raisins & almonds and we were thrilled. Dessert was ready got there with everything else...sublime. Ha d the rice pudding and the apple tart with vanilla ice Cream. Our waitperson, Jolie, was terrific and had a great experience with the bus staff too. Go! Eat! Drink! Enjoy!
Fish of the Fish &Frites was old. Every thing else was ok.
Great atmosphere and food...Good for special occasion or just a night out...
I have been wanting to visit for years and finally had a chance to experience Catalan. We were not disappointed. My three friends and I all had a wonderful evening and agreed that we would come back soon. Great food and service and we enjoyed being on the covered, heated patio with twinkling candles, live music and climbing vines. Bravo!
Great meal, great service.
We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Catalan last Thursday. The food was amazing, our waiter very helpful and engaging and the ambiance welcoming. The paella was delicious and the portion more than adequate. My wife remarked that her salmon was one of the best salmon dishes she has ever had. The fresh bread and pesto were fresh and flavorful. A return trip is definitely in order.
Very authentic and enjoyable evening. Spanish guitarist was a lovely touch. Great food and attentive service. Interior courtyard has a great ambiance. Thanks!
The food was absolutely amazing. Apple crisp, Afaogato with espresso, Cremini Mushrooms, Grilled Prime Flat iron steak, chicken Milanese with arugula salad, and fresh bread with basil pesto. Fresh flavors, amazing atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff, complementary valet and an easy to find location. A must try!!
Best Catalonian cuisine I have had since being in Barcelona 6 months ago. Excellent paella and grilled shishito peppers.
Very disappointing. The paella was drowning in some red sauce instead of yellow rice. The Sangria was just okay. The salads were quite good as were the olives
We had a very nice dinner in Catalan’s semi-outdoor patio on a busy Friday evening. I liked my all-seafood black squid ink paella while my wife enjoyed her scallops in a butternut squash sauce. A large serving of olives with garlic made a nice starter along with tasty bread. Patrick provided fine service.
Going to plan a pig roast.
It was chill fam, what can I say. They let me check my longboard.
Our servers Matthew was great, he made sure we were taken care of, as well the bartender with great drinks.
I would rated a 5 but I think it closes to early especially on Valentine day at 9 pm.
Terrific - as usual!
There were 4 of us for dinner on Valentine’s Day. The food was very good but unfortunately our waiter was not. In the 2 hrs we were there he only came by once. At the end when we ordered dessert he didn’t even ask if we wanted coffee with our dessert. When the bill came it was incorrect 3 times. Our feeling was he didn’t care.
This was our first experience at Catalan and we were very pleased. We were the first to arrive, but within 1.5 hours the place was packed. We picked the prix-fixed dinner but enhanced it with roasted octopus. Each of us had the arugula salad with sliced granny smith apples, walnuts and a champagne vinaigrette. My friend had the scallops and I had the black spaghetti with clams. We also shared two plates of excellent bread with pesto sauce. For dessert my friend had apple crisp. Service was uniformly excellent. All staff were welcoming, friendly and informative. We'll definitely go back!
Wonderful staff and great food.
We had eaten here in 2017 and loved it. We went on a recent Friday night and it was too quiet - at least half empty, no ambience and an immediate downer upon arrival. The food was also very disappointing. The salads were fine (I.e., ordinary) but our main course - Ink Squid Paella with seafood which was recommended by our very nice server - was unappetizing in appearance, way too salty and lacking fresh, pleasant flavour. The background music from the jazz/pop guitar player was lovely but otherwise, I'm at a loss to recommend this restaurant.
We were in town with friends for the Tour De Palm Springs. There were 9 of us and our service and food was excellent.
We had been referred to Catalans and we will now do the same.
We had another wonderful dining experience here this week and it is our favorite restaurant in the desert!!! The food is always excellent and the service is great as well. This time I had the steak & my husband had the lamb ragu pasta & both were delicious!! It is definitely the best restaurant in the desert.
We had a wonderful time!! The food was different and outstanding in flavor and presentation...we will be back...if your hesitant go on Tuesday...great specials that night
