Catal Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We stopped by for a quick dinner before entering Disneyland Park. We were seated quickly and ordered quickly, but it took a while for the food to come out (probably cooking time for the paella). The food was really good, the Suckling Pig Paella was super tender and tasty with the tomatillo jam, the bacon mac & cheese was wonderfully rich, and the tortilla soup was spicy. The DVC member discount was nice, too!
Catal was lovely ... the food and wine were amazing .... everything our group got was gushed over. I have to say however, $9.50 for a bud light is ridiculous. (No, we didn't get one, but still ... Really?!) which may lend to the thought that I did feel dishes were slightly overpriced ... by $5-10-ish generally -- Even for Disney!
This restaurant is right in the middle of Downtown Disney. We arrived early for Happy Hour. Great prices on drinks and apps. Had a great seat on balcony overlooking the area. We stayed for dinner and it was also very good. It appeared they were short on staffing, but we had the time to enjoy and relax
This place does everything right. Great food, attentive service, nice views of downtown Disney from the second story windows, sometimes you can even catch a glimpse of the fireworks at dinner. We have eaten here probably a dozen times after our visits to the Disney parks and it's always a perfect ending to the day.
Catal is a great spot for dinner. Luckily the evening was cooling down and we were able to enjoy the refreshing sangria while dining al fresco. The server was very friendly. The food was phenomenal! I split a salad, which turned out to be just right, and we both had different main courses. The lobster paella was perfect.
We visited Catal for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday on October 14, 2017.
The staff, food and service were excellent. We enjoyed our first experience at this restaurant very much and hope to return someday when we visit the area again. Thank You
The kids love the mac and cheese! I love the scallops and the rack of lamb. The brussel sprouts and sugar snap pea pods were crunchy and very tasty. The view of Downtown Disney is fun. We didn't stay for the fireworks but it's the best place to dine and watch outside the park.
The chilaqules $14 were very pricey in comparison to the portion size. Plenty of chips but all the good stuff was hardly present. Had a mimosa, small pour $9. Keep in mind the location when looking at the prices. Went Sunday morning at 9:45am. Great ambiance, I’d try again and maybe order a more fool proof option and a cocktail or Beer
My wife and I came here last year for our wedding dinner and the food was amazing! And the service was great. This year for our 1 year anniversary we decided to come back and have a great dinner again. When we arrived it was pretty packed which is fine I understand no problems there but when we ordered our food it tasted a lot different we ordered the same food as last time but everything we got was very bland and the portion of our calimarie was smaller and our prime rib was very salty! At one point I had to spit it out because I was crunching down on a lot of salt! And the meat was very tough to chew! And was even hard to cut with a knife Our bacon macaroni had no flavor and there was very little bacon. Unfortunately we did not finish our meal and we just packed it up to go but ended up throwing it away the next day because we did not like it at all. I’m not sure if the food was rushed out because it was so packed or if the quality of the meat was cheaper than last year but sadly we will not be returning to Catal next year
It was "ok"....
I won't oversell it. The location is amazing...
Arrived for a special dinner and the waiter was as snooty as a Nordstrom shoe salesman- seriously?
Took forever to welcome us - thank goodness we went to Tiki Bar for a libation- or we would have died.
Best part- they ran out of bread. Seriously...even Coco's can bake some on the fly.
The oxtail was more of an app. The waiter tried to be cool and memorize the order- but missed the sides. Use a pen.
Hit Napoli. Or anywhere else.
Catal is the hidden gem in Downtown Disney, great food, reasonable pricing, excellent service all things not expected in such a commercial tourist zone. Definitely a repeat restaurant and and an excellent way to relax with a good meal after the hectic day of running around Disneyland/California Adventure. Sitting on the balcony gives you a birds eye view of the people walking around Downtown Disney, but inside it is quiet and more relaxed where a conversation is easily held. The wine list is very well put together and the policy of "no corkage fee" is outstanding, so bring something unusual if you're so inclined. Highly recommended along with reservations, and don't forget to validate for parking since Downtown Disney now charges for parking.
We had been to Downtown Disney many times and only recently decided to try Catal. We were very impressed with the service and the food was delicious. Good presentation and our server was very informative. Glad we tried it and will be back on our next Disneyland getaway.
They've really changed their menu from fine-dining to everyday food with a little better twist to it. Nothing really special to make it stand out from any other restaurant in the area.
Do not make a special trip to the restaurant, it's only so-so. Once upon a time, the restaurant offered excellent fair such as rabbit and venison. Now it's your typical hamburger, fish burger, chicken sandwich with better sauces to them. When we saw the menu, we left and went to The Jazz Kitchen, which had a wider-range of offerings.
This used to be our "go to" restaurant when we wanted a break from Disneyland: we looked forward to the excellent food that wasn't a typical "tourist" restaurant. Now...it's just like anything you might get in the better restaurants in the Parks.
The food is outstanding! Fresh and flavorful! I had the skinny omelette and my friend had the ham omelette. Normally a side of fruit is your standard melon, EVEN BETTER, this was fresh strawberries and raspberries. The breakfast potatoes are worth the visit alone! For the price this is the best food in Downtown Disney! Our waitress was so accommodating and just lovely!
This is my go to place in Downtown Disney. It is the best value for the freshest ingredients. The flavors and variety keep me coming back. My friend and I had a beautiful lunch above Downtown Disney away from the craziness down below. We were there for lunch and planned brunch there the next day after the race!
Mixed drinks were great. We had the original martini and the pear martini. Both were excellent. Deviled eggs for the appetizer had a bit of kick to it with bacon added for an excellent twist on a old fav. We ordered pasta from the Marathon weekend menu and each plate was tasty. Best meal yet at Catal
