We've been dining here for years when we come to visit disneyland, food is fabulous, nice place to sit and get away from the crowds.
Stayed at Disney for a few days, bringing family with small children and a vegetarian friend. Had eaten elsewhere the night before with a v-e-r-r-y L—O—N—G wait for table, then again for food. And our vegetarian friend had spent much time throughout the day seeking vegetarian options so didn’t spend much time with the group and had to eat on her own, so we were excited to find a place that a) had good veg options, b) accommodated children, and c) took reservations. When the children’s naps went on longer than expected, my husband and I went on without them (they all got room service). Catal had no problem with the sudden reduction from table of 7 to table of 2, and we “old folks” had a lovely dinner for two. It was delicious, and romantic; service was excellent and presentation of meals was superb. Plus, even with a family seated next to us, the atmosphere was pleasant and quiet enough for great dinner conversation. We fell in love with this place.
Delightful dinner started with the bacon wrapped dates, then we moved on to the oxtail and paella, accompanied by a glass of the tempranillo. Servers were attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Disney.
The food was mixed. The lamb chops were fantastic, but the vegetarian paella was not great. The meal took way too long to come. The restaurant should have offered us more than a complimentary soup. A minimum 20% discount at the very least.
Brunch was lovely. Breakfast Paella needs to be on their regular breakfast menu.
The food at Catal is just what we expected, having been there before for lunch, dinner, and happy hour. I was pleased to be able to sit out on the balcony even though the rest of our party hadn't arrived yet. We had ordered a drink at the bar, but asked for water when we got to our table, but it took a while to receive it. Was disappointed I couldn't use my birthday coupon, though received delicious ice cream and coffee at the end of the meal.
We met some friends who were at Disneyland for dinner. The prices were high but that would have been fine if the food and service was good but they were not. It took over and hour to get our food and then the salads were served at the same time as the entree. My paella was cold and had obviously been sitting a while. Great disappointment.
Food was awful; waitress was nice and accommodating adjusted the bill since proteins (steak and chicken) were overcooked!
Our server was friendly & attentive. Food was delicious. Great place for friends to grab food & drinks. Get the chocolate old fashioned cocktail.
Well if you are close to Disney in Anaheim you will definitely want to drop by. Their open bar and food are great for outdoor dining. If you like people watching and the bustling and hustling of the area this is the place to be. We ate during lunch and dinner. The menu for dining is good and the ambiance very nicely done.
Good experience for the first time. Disappointed that server didn’t acknowledge my son’s birthday, for the amount of money I spent for our lovely lunch.
Food was very good. Service was ok to good. Not perfect. Wines by the glass were fantastic values and paired perfectly with the food.
Beautiful setting atop balcony with a view of downtown Disney plaza for a Valentine's Day dinner
Valentines Menu was great , but no vegetables at all????. Food was delicious but service was not great. Half of our party were children and while they put their order in first, service for the children fell off from there.
Last minute reservation for Valintines Day. Seated promptly . The Waiter was very good about explaining the menu. Good drinks and yummy food.
They advertise complimentary photo but the girl was not very good about it. Never came to our table to take a photo and seemed just to be wondering around the restaurant with a Nikon on her shoulder. I saw her uploading photos on the computer but never came around us or anyone near us for a photo.
Great service. Great food. Server was very nice and helpful. I noted in my reservation that it was my son’s birthday, and the hostess who seated us acknowledged that, but nothing else was done. The server probably was never told and therefore there was no acknowledgement of his special day. This has happened many times in booking via OpenTable. It’s disappointing.
I have dined at Catal many times (It's my favorite DTD restaurant). We had a reservation and arrived slightly early. We were seated right away. Drink order was taken within a minute and drinks arrived promptly. When the last of our party arrived, our food orders were taken. We had a 4 yr old and we ordered Mac & Cheese to keep him happy :). It was out quickly and calmed the beast ;). I had the Lobster Paella - OMG! It was hot and delicious with big chunks of lobster. We did not have dessert but they did not push us out. We all had a GREAT experience and our out-of-state friends were impressed.
Thank You Catal & to our server, Cresslyn.
Food was great but our waiter Tyler was the real reason our meal experience stood out. He was professional, friendly and efficient. We had a great time.
As usual the meal was great. However this time one of the staff members came to our table to say that we would receive a free complimentary... post card. Then he asked if he could take our picture. We declined and then we saw him going from table to table soliciting other patrons, collecting money from one table. For a nice restaurant like Catal, this was a bit tacky.
Great meal. Great service. 3 of the 4 dishes were amazing. 1 was average.
Bacon wrapped dates were great and the deviled eggs were good. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the substituted brussel sprouts that were well sauteed we're good. The sorbet for $8 was considerably small but tasty.
Best place for breakfast and dinner in downtown disny
Your devil eggs and jalapeño margaritas are tremendous.
Our experience was either very good or very poor. Two extremes that were unfortunate. I was with my two daughters and celebrating a job promotion for oldest. The girls st first while I went to powder room. When I came out to find them the hostesses were too busy having a personal conversation to assist me. I waited, tried to interrupt to no avail. I then just walked through resturant to find my girls.
Once we sat the waitress was lovely, great service. we had an early 6:45 reservation but arrived early at 6:30. The resturant had many available tables. Then the service went south when there was a mad rush to clear our table as I was mid bite and finishing my meal. The lovely waitress and busboy came over and asked but just forged ahead to clear. 3-5 minutes would have been fine. This was shocking and wrong. For the three of us our bill was close to $175.00, we did not just eat appetizers, we ate meals, had drinks, etc. The restaurant was still fairly empty, many empty tables around us.
Disappointed! Food was good but tiny plates that were very expensive! I expected better
This was our 5th time dining at Catals. We are never disappointed. The food was wonderful and the service was great.
Great food!! Our waiter, Caesar, was fantastic!!!
Our server Tyler was amazing!! Food was delicious! Highly recommended!!
Have been coming here for years--always great food and nearly always great service as well
Don’t sit near doors when it’s cold and windy as doors don’t stay shut
This restaurant is a meet up spot for a group of my friends and I (they are in the OC and I’m in LA) - some of us have Annual passes to Disneyland and some don’t so this is a great spot to meet up where that’s not an issue.
Good food and service, but very noisy due to the jackhammer at the construction site next door. We arrived while the workers were at lunch, but the noise started shortly thereafter. It turned a great experience into a fair one. I recommend indoor dining during the construction. I wish they had warned us.
We had a wonderful dinner date experience here—so much so that we came back the following day for lunch. The servers were friendly and on top of everything. We sat on the balcony where there were lights and a nice view of downtown disney. We would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a place to eat for any occasion such as a birthday dinner to a place to come sit down in the afternoon to take a break from Disneyland and have an extremely yummy meal!
Took too long for food to arrive. We were there for lunch and for a party of three we waited 1 hour for our food. We did receive a 10% discount from our waitress and she was very nice.
A great place for a holiday lunch with friends. The service was outstanding.
A nice atmosphere to dine and feel like you're looking over DD without sitting in the Downtown street. Food was good and nicely plated/served. Sitting outside was a good choice to look over DD.
Good place local place to meet in Downtown Disney. Quality of food was not what I've expected to pay a little overpriced for its quality.
Mediocre flavors, quality and portion size. They do not provide any kind of complimentary table bread nor complimentary birthday dessert. As a local, I would likely not eat here again. This was disappointing for a Patina Group restaurant.
Delicious food and great vibe!
Fantastic Thanksgiving dinner!
The menu is always great here but, for Thanksgiving, they offered a traditional prix fix menu that was superb.
