Catal Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Our experience was either very good or very poor. Two extremes that were unfortunate. I was with my two daughters and celebrating a job promotion for oldest. The girls st first while I went to powder room. When I came out to find them the hostesses were too busy having a personal conversation to assist me. I waited, tried to interrupt to no avail. I then just walked through resturant to find my girls.
Once we sat the waitress was lovely, great service. we had an early 6:45 reservation but arrived early at 6:30. The resturant had many available tables. Then the service went south when there was a mad rush to clear our table as I was mid bite and finishing my meal. The lovely waitress and busboy came over and asked but just forged ahead to clear. 3-5 minutes would have been fine. This was shocking and wrong. For the three of us our bill was close to $175.00, we did not just eat appetizers, we ate meals, had drinks, etc. The restaurant was still fairly empty, many empty tables around us.
Good food and service, but very noisy due to the jackhammer at the construction site next door. We arrived while the workers were at lunch, but the noise started shortly thereafter. It turned a great experience into a fair one. I recommend indoor dining during the construction. I wish they had warned us.
We had a wonderful dinner date experience here—so much so that we came back the following day for lunch. The servers were friendly and on top of everything. We sat on the balcony where there were lights and a nice view of downtown disney. We would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a place to eat for any occasion such as a birthday dinner to a place to come sit down in the afternoon to take a break from Disneyland and have an extremely yummy meal!
After spending a full day at Disneyland, Catal Restaurant was a wonderful change of pace. Everyone in our group ending up choosing some type of seafood entree (scallops, fish of the day, and paella) which were all delicious . We enjoyed the meal at the leisurely while catching up on family news. Overall, a positive experience.
We stopped by for a quick dinner before entering Disneyland Park. We were seated quickly and ordered quickly, but it took a while for the food to come out (probably cooking time for the paella). The food was really good, the Suckling Pig Paella was super tender and tasty with the tomatillo jam, the bacon mac & cheese was wonderfully rich, and the tortilla soup was spicy. The DVC member discount was nice, too!
Catal was lovely ... the food and wine were amazing .... everything our group got was gushed over. I have to say however, $9.50 for a bud light is ridiculous. (No, we didn't get one, but still ... Really?!) which may lend to the thought that I did feel dishes were slightly overpriced ... by $5-10-ish generally -- Even for Disney!
This restaurant is right in the middle of Downtown Disney. We arrived early for Happy Hour. Great prices on drinks and apps. Had a great seat on balcony overlooking the area. We stayed for dinner and it was also very good. It appeared they were short on staffing, but we had the time to enjoy and relax
This place does everything right. Great food, attentive service, nice views of downtown Disney from the second story windows, sometimes you can even catch a glimpse of the fireworks at dinner. We have eaten here probably a dozen times after our visits to the Disney parks and it's always a perfect ending to the day.
Catal is a great spot for dinner. Luckily the evening was cooling down and we were able to enjoy the refreshing sangria while dining al fresco. The server was very friendly. The food was phenomenal! I split a salad, which turned out to be just right, and we both had different main courses. The lobster paella was perfect.
We visited Catal for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday on October 14, 2017.
The staff, food and service were excellent. We enjoyed our first experience at this restaurant very much and hope to return someday when we visit the area again. Thank You
The kids love the mac and cheese! I love the scallops and the rack of lamb. The brussel sprouts and sugar snap pea pods were crunchy and very tasty. The view of Downtown Disney is fun. We didn't stay for the fireworks but it's the best place to dine and watch outside the park.
The chilaqules $14 were very pricey in comparison to the portion size. Plenty of chips but all the good stuff was hardly present. Had a mimosa, small pour $9. Keep in mind the location when looking at the prices. Went Sunday morning at 9:45am. Great ambiance, I’d try again and maybe order a more fool proof option and a cocktail or Beer
