Expected higher quality food for how the restaurant was written up. Caesar salad was so basic and did not seem fresh. Calamari tasted like it came from a cheap seafood place. Ordered dessert and it took about 15 minutes to come. Service was friendly but busy.
Dining at Catal had its pros and cons. Service was very good. Staff was quick and friendly and ambiance was very good. The food though could be better. Their paella was dry and seemed cakey. Not what you would expect. We ordered the calamari and that was good but the pork belly appetizer could be better. It was too fatty and not crispy enough after frying. It also had a sauce that was too dry when it was served. They do have a good wine list and their white sangria was excellent. My friend ordered it and after tasting it, I ordered one too.
What a great meal! The service was absolutely excellent. Through Open Table, I let the restaurant know it was our wedding anniversary, and the staff treated us especially well. The complementary dessert--caramel apple profiteroles--was exquisite! Will definitely go back at the next opportunity.
The staff were friendly and the food was great.
This is one of our favorite places to dine in Downtown Disney. The food is phenomenal and we love to dine on the patio.
We had a large party and more than half our group did not enjoy their meal. For the prices we were paying, we expected better quality. Any time we asked the server for just a few more min, he would either come back immediately or would wait 30 min before coming back to check on us. The best part was being outside because we had a lovely view and the fact that wine was 1/2 off.
Service was excellent. Food was not seasoned and had no taste. Great ambience though. Overpriced because it’s in Downtown Disney.
The food was not equal to the cost. I don't mind paying a lot for excellent food and service. Service was excellent, but food was not. Drinks are a little pricey too.
Kitchen was slow. Appetizer took approximately 25 minutes to arrive after ordering. Entrees took approximately 30 minutest to arrive after ordering. Waiter apologized, said kitchen was slow due to the Independence Day holiday, but acknowledged that a busy holiday is no excuse at a major resort - management should have planned better.
Food was so-so. Meat dishes were overcooked. Salad was mediocre. Adult beverages were weak and overpriced.
I never write reviews, so this must have been bad to prompt me to write one. Two stars instead of one, because one-star is for restaurants without any redeeming qualities. Here at least, the waiter was pleasant and was trying to do a good job even though the kitchen was slow.
My husband & I were celebrating my birthday in Disneyland and made reservations at Catal, as we had dined there many years ago and enjoyed it.
The food and service were both excellent. And really enjoyed the special birthday treat dessert.
We will definitely go back again the next time we stay overnight in Disneyland.
Had my birthday dinner here! There was a small mixup where my waiter forgot to put in the order for my food, and it did not come out with the rest of my family's. But the waiter went above and beyond in both service and attitide to make it right! Would love to come back again, all very delicious and worth the wait! An excellent birthday experience.
Food had ZERO FLAVOR!
Food was great but took way too long. Waited over 30 minutes from our appetizer being finished to our entree being served
The steak was over cooked twice and the manager did not care.
Food was good but service was subpar at best
Food was excellent and one of the more quiet restaurants for this area.
The quality of food was not what it used to be.
Bland food not cooked right.
The reservation process was very easy. All of the tables are in areas with nice ambiance.
Server: Our waiter was great. He worked with us on food needs and accommodated our seating needs too ( we had a wheelchair). The other table staff kept our water glasses filled and cleared our plates gracefully.
Food: The prime rib was perfect. Flavorful and tender. I had the oxtail which was cooked to the tenderness needed with the pasta.
I will come back.
Underwhelming food and service. Website describes the food as Mediterranean and California fusion, but it’s basically Spanish influenced.
Very nice place, right in downtown Disney. Great food and location.
Appetizer, dinner and dessert was amazing!!!! We sat out on the balcony and it was gorgeous out. Server was top notch.
Food is expensive, serving size is small.
Lovely staff. Nice dessert for birthday girl.
Very friendly bartender! Great service and the food was delicious! Sitting on the patio was nice as well!
Fantastic from start to finish. The Ahi Tuna app followed by the brussel sprouts. Were delicious.
food and waitress was great. great place to eat at downtown disney
Meal was mediocre at best. Food was under-cooked and overly spiced. Management was quite rude and unwilling to give operating manager’s information. Can not recommend.
Service slow. Lacked ambiance. More of a fast food casual dining location. Definitely not for business or friends lunch. Expected a bit more based upon previous reviews and ratings. Sorry there are too many better options in the area.
Excellent food and friendly knowledgeable service. My paella was nicely prepared with slightly browned edges and delicious juicy suckling pig. The other entrees looked really delicious as well. Several in our party tried the specialty drinks and enjoyed them. Nice upper level location removes you a bit from the crowds in Downtown Disney.
Very interesting menu. Great service, and food was wonderful.
Great place; requested outdoor seating at the check-in ; but the lady was young and unprofessional with zero personality offered us a inside table in a corner with no view. But the lady who was seating us was very cordial and was gracious to find us a better seating. Food was great and rest of the service was good.
l would like to start by saying that the food was phenomenal! happy hour was great. The service was HORRIBLE! this was my first time trying this restaurant, I am a foodie explorer, I love to try different restaurants, foods, drinks etc. I had made reservations and we got seated right away when we arrived, we got seated on the patio by the hostess. Nobody came by with glasses of water or any service at all until 20 minutes later. There was a waitress who had glasses and brownish hair along with another blonde short hair male who walked by us a few times and didnt acknowledge us at all! It wasnt until a waiter name jose served us water and basically forced these servers to come take our order.
I wasn't impressed. Service was lacking and food was subpar. We won't be returning.
Food was great! Everything was seasoned well and cooked just right! Pork belly was nice and crispy and the Brussel sprouts were roasted nicely.
Traditional paella was great as was the scallops. The veggies were nice and crunchy just how they should be.
Service was awesome, water was filled without needing to be asked and enough space was given to allow us to enjoy our meal.
Will have to revisit since it was a busy night, we waited 1 hour for our food to come out. We ended up packing all of our food to go.
Great view could see the fireworks from the balcony 2nd floor.
The food and service was great!
Most restaurants can do a good job on days when everything is going right. I am most impressed when a restaurant can still do s good job in a day when things are going astray. My family all got tasty food but it was a little slow to come out. The server was very attentive of this and did a good job of coaxing the food from the very busy kitchen. When we good our food, mine was pretty cold but everyone else was happy with theirs. I was too hungry at this point to send it back and ate about half of my prime rib before it good too cold to enjoy.
I pointed this out to the server as a matter of fact but ate half my food and my daughter liked the cold mashed potatoes so I was not looking girl any consideration. The server recognized the issue, spoke to the manager, and they comped my prime rib without a problem. I was surprised and very thankful for their consideration. This demonstrated great management and service and it made what could have been a negative experience positive. We will return.
Super quiet. The staff was very quick and efficient. The food wasn’t as good as before but still really good. We went more then one time. Drinks were great. Very relaxing and I would recommend.
Food was absolutely delicious! Prices were reasonable for Downtown Disney and portion sizes we're good. Service was horribly slow the night we were there. We had a reservation but still took about 15 10-15 minutes for us to be seated even though the restaurant was practically empty. Took another 15 minutes before server came to take our order, and then another 30+ minutes to get our food. Definitely not a place to go if you are hungry and tired after a long day in the parks- especially if you have exhausted hungry kids with you too! Great place if you are looking for a restaurant you can sit and enjoy a slow paced dinner.
