Most restaurants can do a good job on days when everything is going right. I am most impressed when a restaurant can still do s good job in a day when things are going astray. My family all got tasty food but it was a little slow to come out. The server was very attentive of this and did a good job of coaxing the food from the very busy kitchen. When we good our food, mine was pretty cold but everyone else was happy with theirs. I was too hungry at this point to send it back and ate about half of my prime rib before it good too cold to enjoy.
I pointed this out to the server as a matter of fact but ate half my food and my daughter liked the cold mashed potatoes so I was not looking girl any consideration. The server recognized the issue, spoke to the manager, and they comped my prime rib without a problem. I was surprised and very thankful for their consideration. This demonstrated great management and service and it made what could have been a negative experience positive. We will return.
Food was absolutely delicious! Prices were reasonable for Downtown Disney and portion sizes we're good. Service was horribly slow the night we were there. We had a reservation but still took about 15 10-15 minutes for us to be seated even though the restaurant was practically empty. Took another 15 minutes before server came to take our order, and then another 30+ minutes to get our food. Definitely not a place to go if you are hungry and tired after a long day in the parks- especially if you have exhausted hungry kids with you too! Great place if you are looking for a restaurant you can sit and enjoy a slow paced dinner.
Me and my family had a very nice mother's day dinner here (:
We went for Mother's Day and they had a pre fixe menu for $50/pp. You choose an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. I was disappointed because I wanted to be able to choose a dish they were known for off of the regular menu. There was no option to do that. I chose the "melon salad" which was ok. It was sliced cantalope with balsalmic and passion fruit sorbet. For my entree I had the short rib parpadelle. It was dry like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for some time. It was flavorless. It tasted manufactured. We finally arrived at dessert in which I chose the chocolate mousse. It also tasted manufactured as though it was pre-purchased frozen and thawed upon serving. The husband had the Salmon toast for his appetizer which he said was ok as well, the halibut which was decent. It was a tad overcooked. The "panna cotta" for dessert which really just tasted like almond jello (it had the consistency of knox jello). My mother in law had the chicken and waffles and the chicken were chicken tenders, the same tenders that were served in my nephew's chicken tender and fries dish... and that was $14 for the kids meal.
If you love food, you will not enjoy the food here. Perhaps it was bc many dishes were mass produced for the Mother's Day rush and we came on a bad day but it was overpriced for what we got. The service was ok to start but slowed towards the end. Our waiter was polite. Our reservation was a bit delayed likely due to the slow down of the security check getting into DT Disney. Ambiance was nice, especially if you got to sit out on the balcony (we did not). Overall a nice place to enjoy company but likely not over the food.
Great place for special occasion, good food and pleasant ambiance.
We were there for the Mother's Day Brunch. Our second course came out before our first, and they were very apologetic. The manger came by, and apologized as well. He said that he would do something special for us to make up for it, but that never happened. They first part of the meal was great, but it took over a half an hour for us to get get our dessert and then another 10 for the check. It would have been nice if the manager followed through with this promise for something special to make up for the confusion at the beginning of our meal.
Went with a group of 7 for the Mother's Day brunch & it was outstanding. The service food was delicious & the service with exceptional!!
I also enjoy going to during happy hour, I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was ok.
If you ordered a drink it comes immediately, if you order a straw or extra spoon, it takes 10 minutes.
Food presentation was good.
The food was excellent and our server was outstanding. The only reason I did not give higher marks was that it took a very long time to get our food.
Food was good but overpriced. cocktails were overly sweet. Good service but more attentiveness appreciated. Decor was awkward.
Great balcony viewing of Disneyland fireworks was unexpected bonus of our delightful dinner!
Catal offers the best dining experience in Disney. Excellent food, quality wines and cocktails and for their quality very good pricing.
Went as a last minute dinner option while on vacation at Disneyland
I took my wife back to this restaurant for her birthday (plus I had a really cool Patina gift card). We went on a Monday night at Disney Walk and had an outside balcony seat. Great atmosphere for a nice evening outside with the heaters. Food was great! Service was great!
The drinks were great and the staff was stellar
But I felt like the menu was not at the same level as everything else at the restaurant like something was missing or a few things not looking for a perfect score just looking to get a bit of a wow factor when you spend $400 on dinner for 4
This was my first time there. Although we had a scary experience in the elevator, everything else was awesome. The server kept coming to us to see how we were doing. I love that. The food was soooo yummy and the plate was really full. This was breakfast so I need to come for lunch and dinner next. Thank you so much. God bless you all.
Too pricey and not too many choices
The food was good, the service was great! Andi was a great server, very friendly. The wait time was reasonable and the food came out quickly.
Salads came out in a timely manner but we waited over an hour for our entrees. Waiter never came by to refill water glasses or ask if we wanted another drink from the bar. Basically we were ignored. When the entrees finally came out the food wasn’t hot and the scallops were undercooked and the hamburger was dry. The manager came over to say that they were having “ problems” in the kitchen, whatever that meant. Stay away, they can’t handle the crowds!
Delicious food but high priced. We came with a 10 and 12 year old with limited palates but they loved the chicken tenders. I found the menu to be rather limited even for adults. I had the sword fish which was delicious but again pricey. Perfect place for a romantic special occasion. Not so great for a family
We are Disney annual pass holders and have been to every restaurant in downtown Disney. Catal has won our hearts. Service was impeccable! Our server Amy was fantastic. She didn’t miss a beat and made sure we were always well taken care of. Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked. Desserts were to die for! We’ll definitely return!
Great salmon. Lackluster service
Waitress barely around
Forgot our first course
Lacking in service
This was a pleasant surprise in downtown Disney, where the food is expensive, but generally the menu selections are somewhat limited The menu includes pork, beef, chicken, lamb, and seafood. There were a couple of daily specials. We all had a different dish, and everyone was pleased. The dessert menu was the usual crepe brûlée, cheesecake, bread pudding, ice cream , but all were tasty. Decent selection of wines as well. Our waiter, Peter, was outstanding. We were very pleased with the experience, as was the other couple we dined with.
We love the place and the food. But, when we first got in. We were greeted by a tall slim woman. We told her that we have reservations at 8pm and we asked if we can sit outside(bar). She said that was 10 minutes. So, we said ok. 10 minutes passed and I asked how long will it take. She said “oh 20 minutes” I got confuse. She was rude and whispering to her co worker and laughing. I got upset and said if we can just sit upstairs. She told us to go upstairs. But thank god, when we got upstairs it was a lot better. The people upstairs were nice and they smiled more. Our waitress was nice, and this tall dude lowered the temp of the lamp so it would be too hot. The food was great and the view from the top was way better.
Food was excellent, especially salad and the crispy fried calamari , drinks, and Server service excellent, good experience,
Thank very much.
If your looking for a more upscale restaurant in downtown disney this is a very good option. Food was good, drinks were good. The restaurant is upstairs and we got to sit outside and people watch. I would come back for sure.
The food is amazing! Service great and location is perfect. Spend dinner there and watch the firework show of Disney. Out of all the restaurants in Downtown Disney, this is the one to go with. Great for kids too! Save your money and eat dinner here rather than inside the park.
We were sat by the hostess who was rather curt. 15 min later the waitress shows up, slaps the table and announces: “I didn’t know I had anyone at this table”. Ha. I saw her looking at us 10 min earlier down the hall. Anyway, my husband ordered a beer, I ordered a soda which caused her to look at me like “really?”. It only got better from there. We won’t return.
Sat outside. Lovely! Restaurant was not crowded which gave it a relaxed feeling. Service was attentive. Portions were generous. Food was delicious. Ordered the salmon and filet mignon which were perfectly prepared. Prices were high, but expected for location.
Was here last year and can’t back twice during our one week Disney vacation bc the food was so good. I don’t know what happened there since, but it was awful! I sent both my appetizer and main back and even my cocktail was bad. Last year I recommended this place to everyone, never again! Overpriced for bad food!
We were really excited to try Catal. We were disappointed with the food and service especially for the higher end prices. We had 3 hostesses try to figure out our reservation on headsets. Isabel who could actually do it was no where to be found. Once seated the table, chairs, and ground area were filthy. The salad was good but no one offered pepper on it. I ordered the Lobster Paella for $45. It came with one mini claw the size of my thumb and half a tail the length of my middle finger and the width of my middle and index finger. I basically had rice for dinner. The server next checked on us. Ordered an espresso - no sugar come with it and server disappeared to order any. This place is not worth the expense.
Everything was delicious as usual. This is our daughters’ favorite special occasion dinning.
The food was good but very overpriced. The outdoor seating gave a nice view of downtown Disney. The menu was pretty limited but service was good. Overall, it was okay but not really worth the price.
Food was horrible for the price. I had the worst chicken Cesar salad I have ever had. Zero dressing and the size was really small for $25 price
Great service, good people watching, good quality (especially for the price) mediocre. Lobster and paella were dry, though deviled eggs were very good.
The service was not the best even though it was slow. The charcuterie board (Wednesday only) was fantastic. The stuffed peppers were luke warm and tiny for the price (3 1” peppers for $13) but had good flavor. The Brussels sprouts were a joke. I really think they forgot our order and had started breaking down the kitchen before they remembered. They were boiled Brussels sprouts with no flavor and then topped with partially cooked garlic and bacon. They were not cooked evenly, some were darn near raw. Disappointing to say the least.
Be ahead and make a reservation before to go because it's kind of crowd, the food its very tasty!
Excellent service as well
Great for kids and gorgeous patio with outdoor heaters
Every single time I go to Disneyland with my family we make sure we eat breakfast at Catal. Those chilaquiles are to die for and I am from Sonora, Mexico which is big for chilaquiles but at catal the mastered them. One little thing was this time they didn’t have queso fresco which it made the plate taste a little different but the waitress brought me sour cream and love it !!!
