Service was so poor. Our waiter forgot about the main course for my husband!
Great find in Downtown Disney. We requested a table outside and were able to avoid the crowd at Disneyland to watch the fireworks (note- we were able to see the fireworks over the top of a another building opposite the balcony seating so not the full experience of seeing fireworks over the Disneyland castle but after 2 days in the Park, that was fine with us). Food was very good (I had suckling pig, my wife had the catch of the day and our son had flank steak off the kids menu) and very good wines by the glass. Overall we were very satisfied and it was a nice break from the food in the Disneyland parks.
What a surprise! We have eaten at Downtown Disney before and have been disappointed- not this time. Started with deviled eggs and bacon wrapped dates which were very delicious. For entrees we had various salads, filet and paellea- everything was great. Next time we are at Disneyland we will be sure to come back!
We went to Catal for Christmas Day dinner, the food and service were excellent. I had the Burger and fires it was delicious my husband had the short ribs and Brussel sprouts the meat was tender and delicious we will be back.
Great food, nice place to go for Christmas dinner
Service of our waiter was excellent very nice and friendly , attentive , smiley face ! Although the front desk girls are not too friendly ! They can do better !
Food wise it’s ok , it’s a pre pix so no other choice cuz of the holidays ! My halibut was overcook and the steak was too rare , we ordered a medium and the tomato soup was very cold! kitchen was probably busy it’s the holiday season so the food came out mediocre !
We went to the restaurant on Christmas Eve. We were seated on the balcony and saw the Disney closing fireworks. The food was great. We had the Christmas Eve set menu, and felt that the dinner was of great value. All the staffs were extremely friendly. We could not be happier about our experience at this restaurant.
Fantastic dinner for Christmas Eve. The food was superior, as always. Our server, Rebecca was delightful.
Mediocre food at premium prices. Paella was mushy rice with protein on top.
Wonderful food and attentive service. The scallops, brussel sprouts and bacon mac n cheese are always tasty and well prepared. They also have fresh berries for dessert that are not listed on the menu. We love coming here
Wow great adult setting with five star service!
The Prim rib was good but the potatoes were cold. The paella was dry even after sent back to the kitchen. Not a good value the salad had way too much dressing. Too high cost for the foid. Service was good.
Nice view of downtown Disney. Food was delicious but it is pricey.
It was amazing!! Our server Nichole as well as the manager was awesome and super understanding. They were very accommodating of my mom’s disabilities and the food was outstanding. The perfect place to dine on thanksgiving!
If a relaxing and visually rich dining experience is preferred, then Catal is a restaurant you may want to consider. Above downtown, take the stairs on the right and at the top check in on the left. There is a lovely dining room on the east side---circular in shape.
At Catal, you have expansive views of the vibrant life below passing in front of the windows while being catered to by the staff. Thanks to Isabel, Vicente, Nichole, Patrick and Nico for your kindness and consideration on a most special day.
Decorations shined in the sun and lovely clouds hung in the sky, it was an experience that smelled like fresh roasted coffee and touched one like warm velvet on a cold day. Barramundi and Short Ribs were served elegantly and the pumpkin cheesecake was superb during “le banquet”at Disneyland.
Lunch with my toddler- I like their club sandwichA I just have to remember to let them know that I don’t like the bread buttered and toasted- we were seated immediately and our server was there when needed
This is my fifth visit to Catal in 3 years. The food quality continues to drop. The atmosphere is nice but the price of food is way too high for what you get. This past visit my table smelled like a dirty gym towel which tells me the rag they washed the table with was not clean. Very disappointing overall!
Ambience and service was very nice. Wine selection was great. The food was good, though small portions were a little pricey and food came out cold. With missing sauces it mentioned it came with a particular dish.
We had lunch here. We were the only people sitting outside so it was nice and quiet. Service was great!
From entry to exit, Catal was a foreseen gem operated by Patina Group. Catal is on the top three lists of fine dining experiences at Downtown Disney. Having dined at Steakhouse 55 and Napa Rose (superb) I became curious about Catal---located on the upper level offering lovely views.
Coffee was hot and came with half & half. The Steelhead Salmon presented vibrantly on white china. The carrot and rye puree smells filled my nostrils coupled with wiser farm carrots and pistachio vinaigrette which lightly coated the salmon (with skin) by Chef Alfonso Ramirez.
Overall experience created by Jason Peoples (General Manager) at this location. Another one of the Patina group restaurants I have tried is Leatherby's Café Rouge. No dessert. Overall Catal was a culinary adventure eliciting bright thoughts of a “revenir”. So grateful, thanks to Yadira and Vicente.
Online reservation was never received by restaurant
Our experience was great! Tim was an excellent server and made our overall experience better!
Nicole was a very attentive server. So very friendly!
It was my first time and I was very satisfied with food and good service. I would definitely return when I’m in the area.
Food was amazing!
My family has eaten here many times and have always found it to have excellent food and service. They are always accommodating for my autistic son with his many food aversions. It is also relaxing after a long day at the Disney parks and before our two hour long ride back home.
Really great food and wonderful service. We were actually pleasantly surprised by how good the food was.
The food was good. We had the calamari, traditional paella, and suckling pig. My girl had a Mac n cheese. Everything was full of flavor. Service was generally great except for that one person (who wasn’t exactly our server) who never can back with the small spoons I requested for the kids. We ended up having the kids use the big forks they had. Great location and nice view of Downtown Disney.
We have had better experiences. This trip...not so much
Been to this restaurant four(4) times prior this year. Two times for breakfast and two for dinner and both were terrific dining experiences. This time we tried lunch. What a disaster! Only four tables occupied and a whole bunch of servers prepping for dinner crowd apparently. The server we had was barely around to assist us and ran around like the restaurant had over booked. Ridiculous! She forgot the salads until we said something when our main course arrived. The food quality was nothing like dinner or breakfast. So disappointed. This was also the second time I put in the notes it was a birthday celebration, and it was the second time it was ignored.
A bit pricey for what it was, but about average fir Disney. Pleasant dinner on upstairs balcony.
Came for happy hour while in Downtown Disney. Loved everything about it. Great food. Great service. This will be our go-to happy hour spot next time we are in Downtown Disney.
A nice meal, pricey, but overall good. Took a bit of time but otherwise everything was good.
The location, food and service were excellent. We always enjoy dinning on the balcony overlooking the busy Downtown Disney below.
Ryan was the best server. We were very impressed.
Catal is a fine dining restaurant in Downtown Disney. As such it is not inexpensive. We have dined at all of the better restaurants in the parks, hotels and Downtown Disney and Catal is really the only one worth the higher costs. We have been a number of times with a number of different people and no one has ever been disappointed.
Reservations have been honored promptly (no reservation and you will have a wait, assuming you can even get in). The outside area is over the walk and great for people watching; indoors is quiet and more refined. Service is always excellent. As opposed to the fine dining restaurants in the park, we have never felt rushed. They will get you out quickly if you ask, but the norm is a relaxed dining experience.
We were able to make reservations at Catal on Sunday for a Monday-night dinner. Fortunately, the Disney season hadn't become so packed that they couldn't fit us in. Since this is in the Downtown Disney District, be aware of the calendar and plan appropriately.
The menu had a decent variety and my friends who need gluten-free options were able to order almost everything on the menu (anything fried is not available due to cross-contamination of items going into the fryer.)
The Watermelon Lemonade was particularly refreshing.
Sat on the patio. Caesar was our waiter and he was awesome! Great recommendations and super knowledgeable about the menu. The bacon wrapped dates are a must have!
Easter brunch was a wonderful experience: they offered a price fixe menus, but there were so many great choices for each course. Server Vivian was highly attentive and Manager Valerie is alway so warm and welcoming. Thanks also to bartender Santiago for great cocktails! What a fun experience!
