We enjoyed our pre-lockdown meal.
We felt totally relaxed in a safe environment.
Looking forward to returning after lockdown.
really good service and food would highly recommend
Had a really enjoyable time but we was left at the door on our arrive for quiet a long time and then after being seen to our table it took a long time to order drinks and food. The waitresses I could not fault they was very friendly and accommodating
Beautiful setting ,totally Covid free all safety precautions in place .
Food was delicious, fresh, hot ,
Service was attentive, professional & friendly ,top class service !!
Booked to go back next month ❤️
A truly outstanding venue with a fabulous view. The food was first rate. Wonderful service and great staff. Thanks for making it such a wonderful evening
Nice location and okay food but limited choices meaning only 2 starter to choose from with no vegetarian option available and also a desert not available so struggled to pick 2 courses (2 course minimum)
Castle view but no view! Didn't realise that not all tables wouldn't have a view, (were not even asked or advised at time of booking that we may not get a view), so we looked at the court yard which was dull and uninspiring for castle grounds, even some fairy lights would have helped!
Staff were fairly attentive although it took 1.5hours from arrival to receiving & finishing our starters!
Mains arrived (steaks cooked as requested) however, when asked how are your meals by our waitress, I said, nicely cooked, sadly it's cold, she smiled and left the table! My Husband got 4 Steak chips with his dinner, so I gave him one of my 6, I had to even it up! (We paid an extra £3 each to have the steak!) on top of the £26.00 per 2 courses.
Finally, our bill arrived they'd overcharged for our wine putting the wrong bottle on there, some £9.00 more than the one we had.
Clientele were very casually or poorly dressed (in our opinion), or maybe we were over dressed! Ambience wasn't there at all.
Sorry to say our overall experience was exceptionally disappointing.
Having visited previously and always enjoyed the experience, we booked for our first wedding anniversary. Unfortunately the evening was a real disappointment. We were sat in the back room with no view of the castle which would have been ok if the service had not been so appalling. We were asked if wanted dessert before we had even had our mains which when they finally arrived were not correct. Staff seemed to keep getting tables muddled up and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. We ordered dessert but had to ask for cutlery and ended up just walking up to help ourselves, and to round off the evening we were presented with a bill for more than double. It was not the special evening we were expecting and didn’t live up to previous visits.
Great venue and potential but food and service were lacking.
Food was ok, steak & veggies not very warm. Gammon very nice though.
Even though we had a couple of issues (a mix up on the starters order and one ingredient missing from one of the dishes) everything was dealt with very pleasantly. Tables well spaced (as required under present rules) and a great location. Any minor faults with the order were quickly forgotten because the quality of the food was excellent, with a real wow factor. For example, my pan fried cod was perfectly cooked.
The food was lovely, but we were disappointed with the coffee which seems a small point but we felt that with the cost of food and service it wasn’t as good.
You can’t fault the ambience of the venue as it’s pretty spectacular. Thr two course meal isn’t bad value considering the venue but some of the wines are a wee bit overpriced and not such good value for the average purse.
Overall it was enjoyable
Great view of the castle at night. Food is ok, good value for the price charged.
The view from the restaurant is wonderful. The food while trying to be fine dining didn't quite reach the mark. What we had was very nice if a little over priced. Service was great. Just a thought, when serving rolls please give adequate butter, 3 tiny pieces for 2 rolls made us laugh.
Did not think through wheelchair access.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Food and views are good and the service very welcoming. Only thing that I would falter them on is that the plate described on the menu was in some cases different to the actual plate that came out. Nevertheless the food still remained very good.
The staff were very courteous. Had the Sunday roast, one of the best I’ve tasted. Fantastic view from the restaurant
Lovely setting and meal some rather noisy babies at 6.30 so if you want a more peaceful environment dine later otherwise I cannot fault it.
Great food although a little on the expensive side. Would have been nice to have received some butter with our bread rolls
Good food reasonably priced polite service - beautiful location! 😁
Best evening myself and wife have had in a long time highly recommend to anyone
The food was absolutely stunning, all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend Castle View
Service was fantastic thank you Lauren for dinner service and thank you to all the staff at breakfast
A very enjoyable dining experience, very pleasant staff, excellent food and beautiful view of Leeds Castle
Really friendly atmosphere, staff were very welcoming. Excellent food, gluten free no problem and exceptionally clean toilets! Loving building and gardens.
My only minor gripe being the direction arrows/signs to find the entrance to the evening restaurant lead you round a dimly lit path. Which was challenging for an ageing parent to negotiate. However the staff, allowed us to use a different exit (check before you arrive if you have someone with any mobility issues)
Lovely meal, overlooking the castle, attentive waiting staff
Not a very extensive or remarkable menu but well presented food in a stunning location served attentively
We stayed at Leeds Castle B&B and had dinner here in the evening.
Lovely restaurant with friendly staff
First time we have eaten out since lockdown. Felt really comfortable and safe with the approach in the restaurant . Well done to all. Good food and service. Background musak is horrid i suspect the staff have all switched off to it... didn't spoil our enjoyment though.
Food ok, nothing special. A bit bland. Not cheap. Over £110 for three.
This could be a lovely restaurant, location overlooking the castle is grand and the wooden beams and interior could be the most inviting, warming and romantic setting with just a little more effort. The service was fine and the set menu is well priced but the food was really disappointing. The starter of chicken croquettes tasted very much like a previously frozen Iceland dish, the main, sirloin steak, was a bit better but the dessert, cheesecake, was disappointing and very mushy. It didn’t taste as if the finest local seasonal produce, as it says on the website, had been used. The wine was lovely though.
Table ready on time
No non alcoholic beer (2nd night)
Cod lovely
panna cotta could not taste coconut and too little mango gel and half a strawberry as fresh fruit!
Staff again very very good
Thought overpriced
First time we have stayed at Leeds castle restaurant excellent ,food great, generally over all a lovely experience
Table not ready despite time booked had to wait half an hour (if you allocate times and maximum time at table ensure you remind customers when they turn up to avoid delays)
The chicken roast dinner ran out by 7.30. No non alcoholic beer.
Rolls were stale and hard. The toast with mackerel pate was hard and crumbled when tried to spread pate.
The Gammon meal for 2 was terrible, mostly lumps of fat and totally unappetising.
very disappointed.
The Staff were lovely, friendly and apologetic.
The staff were very efficient, attentive, polite and helpful. The restaurant dealt with the Covid situation in a professional way and maintained some semblance of atmosphere at the evening meal and breakfast. Totally impressed with Leeds castle and the high standard of upkeep. We will be returning. Thank you.
Meal was ok, fish good but noticed people were not eating all the steak...!! We had starter Sharing Anti-Pasti Platter For 2 but there was only 1 olive ...! Website menu said pan fried cod but phone app menu said pan fried sea bass, shame because we went there for sea bass and also app said desert was Fruit Cheesecake Sharp Berry Compote... but no cheesecake on menu... Bit of a mix bag really.... Ask for 2 glasses of guinness but told it was from a can..!!! and only had 1 can left... Never known fine dining to serve beer from cans and also bring can and glass to table.... Staff were excellent, service was ok but definitely not fine dining...
Food was delicious and the staff were exceptional especially in these trying times of covid. Felt very safe. Would definitely return 😃
Variety of food on the menu far inferior to all of the restaurants within a mile of its surroundings. Staff seem fairly junior and new to the industry. Stayed for three nights but didn’t rebook after night one.
Amazing setting. Romantic. Lovely view of the castle especially when lit up after dark.
Food was beautiful. We had the roast chicken and the portion was bigger than expected.
First meal we have had since March where we were not rushed out. Able to sit for over an hour after eating just talking.
Staff were lovely.
We will definitely be returning.
Food nice but drinks prices extortionate a glass of white wine £12 50 p !!
