creamed bourbon peach sauce, potatoes with wild garlic, sauteed green beans
porcini rub, truffle butter, potato gratin, sauteed asparagus, roasted peppers
local cherry preserves, caramelized onions, Capriole goat cheese, brioche bun with house cut fries
Very delicious food and a beautiful place. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion dinner.
COVID doesn’t help. Pricey considering the conditions. We’ve been there before. Decorations, candles on the tables & lack of excitement for an outing of this caliber were caused by COVID-19.
Still comeback though!
Absolutely wonderful meal. Had the duck and the lamb shanks. My wife thought the duck she had was the best she had ever had. Service was impeccable and the bourbon list was outstanding.
Don't go for the food, go to see the castle. Although many of the brunch items were locally sourced, the preparation was not memorable. Potatoes were extremely salty, the sausage and bacon greasy, and "toast" warmed not toasted. The coffee was good. These are tough times so go visit but don't expect a fabulous meal.
The Kentucky Castle was a really great experience overall. We went to celebrate new jobs. Our server helped us to choose the perfect champagne for us. We enjoyed appetizers as well. The Brie cheese with pears and pickled onion was AMAZING. We got complementary dessert for our special occasion. Overall, really great. Only reason we aren’t giving 5 stars is that the price of entrees was outrageous.
Stunningly beautiful facility: very warm and, highly competent staff.
The staff was simply amazing & more than helpful. The grounds are breath taking & my wife felt like a princess. I would recommend anyone who has not attended to do so. It was a beautiful view from the roof top to see all the accommodations on the property
We are from Louisville Kentucky and we had company visiting. We wanted to do something that was fun and also eat a meal. We had a great time taking pictures. There are many places inside and on the grounds to take really great pictures. Very unusual and great place to visit. We will definitely be back. This is our second visit there.
The Castle was so beautiful especially during Christmas time!
Great atmosphere- too bad the meal was the equivalent of a TV dinner.
This was our first visit to the Castle & they did Not disappoint! We absolutely loved everything about it!! We will be planning another trip to visit!
Incredible celebratory dinner. The perfect location and food....again!
Had an excellent dinner at the castle. We were seated in a secluded dining room with only one other couple. Andrew was training but did an excellent job providing great service. We’ll definitely be returning. Food was reasonable for fine dining.
This was the best dining experience we’ve ever had. From the service, to the food, to the drinks. It was worth every penny for our first nice dinner as a married couple.
We had a wonderful Brunch experience. Our reservation was at 1pm no wait. Prompt attention from our waiter Caleb. He didn't hover, remembered our order without writing it down. We ordered the Waffles with chicken, the Frittata and the Farm burger. I was the guest who ordered the Farm Burger with caramelized onions, goat cheese, cherry jam and the FF with truffle (FF could come either way) everything complimented the burger perfectly. Social distancing was followed. I would recommend the Castle for Brunch.
Breakfast. Corbin was an excellent waiter.
Very unique place for a meal. Food is good, a little expensive, but reasonable considering the venue.
It was really good, but for the money portion sizes could be larger.
Dining rooms are elegant; but brightly lit, I would have preferred dimmer lighting since it's somewhat of a romantic place. The food is Farm to table and very fresh, they have interesting menu options and were very good about making exceptions. The wait staff couldn't be nicer. Would have been a perfect date night location had the lights been dimmer. Overall very nice evening.
My wife's Wagyu filet was tender and cooked to the temperature requested. Nice.
My salmon was served hot and not overcooked. Nice.
My glass of wine had to be returned due to pieces of floating cork. Not good.
The tiramisu was horrible (worst I have ever had) and overpriced ($12).
For two people, with a single glass of wine, the total check (with tip) was $155.
Not good value.
Not the place for a romantic dinner...stark...white walls, minimal decor...not a warm and inviting place to dine.
Was a nice experience but food was not as good as you expect for the price
Service was fast and friendly though
The place is very nice, quiet, food was excellent. We both tried a specialty drink that we both enjoyed. We shared a dessert also and it was yummy! A great evening for the two of us to enjoy!
It was a good experience expected to be a little more elegant especially the dining area
Food was delicious! We had the salmon and beef!
Celebrated my birthday and was not disappointed. The Wagyu beef and lamb shank were delicious.
It’s a lovely place. Great food and service. Good bartender and our Old Fashions were excellent. Food is A little expensive.
Mostly the dining room needs to be decorated. It’s very plain and needs color and art work or even something that works for a castle. The dining room is bare and stark white. Spaced out but they could at least put place settings on all the tables to warm up the room.
The Castle hype, and the fact that we had never been there before, I was expecting "more".
- The food was the usual you can get anywhere except no French toast.
- We were seated in a very small room since we were not overnight guests.?
- Nothing special about anything other than its in the castle.
- The outside of the castle is really all there is to see and do.
- The gift shop is tiny and has nothing about the history of the castle, how it came to be what it is today, literally nothing. Not even a castle key chain. But there are alot of stuffed unicorn toys.
- Skip the "tour". Again, there is literally nothing to see that you don't see from Nicholasville Road or can see yourself.
- The rooms are tiny. Typical hotel room. Nothing "castle" about it.
- Definitely not a Biltmore or Spindle Top experience.
Overall, I am glad I went, mainly so "now I know".
I was expecting the inside to feel like I was in a castle, not a farm house with makeup on. The music did not fit the price of the food. The music was upbeat and loud. The chairs were uncomfortable and didn't make me think I was at a castle at all. My waitress must have been new, she kept forgetting things, ie refills, appetizer plates, spoons for our dessert. The food was fantastic, but overpriced when it came to the appearance and atmosphere of the inside of the castle. Over all the food was what I was expecting and all the rest fell short.
I love the salmon that I ordered! But I don’t like the chocolate brown room where we are seated. It was so dark.
Not what we expected at all. Overall experience was a let down. From the ambiance to the service staff to the facility. Not represented as marketed.
We were there for brunch. We both had the burger with goat cheese. It was amazing.
Service was awesome. Would definitely eat here again.
Great spot for photos but the food was overpriced and the dining area was very plain.
They were very accommodating. Food quality and quantity was great. Mimosas were refreshing. Atmosphere was amazing!
An experience to add to your visit to Kentucky Bourbon Country, sans alcohol. Nice and relaxing to visit the grounds of the castle and enjoy a good meal.
Beautiful scenery for our 12th Anniversary. We loved the food as well as the top notch service. We will certainly be back. Highly recommend
It was a beautiful evening/night a perfect way to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary!
Beautiful restaurant, one of a kind. Food was good but did not have any wow factor, menu was limited.
Spaced out from each table. Loved the food and great price for being able to tour as well after eating!
We enjoyed the whole experience and the staff was very helpful and pleasant.
