Castell Rooftop Lounge
Excellent, healthy choices offered.
Overall it was an enjoyable experience. It was tranquil, spacious. The staff was very energetic and attentive. I shared the experience with my friends, and they, too, enjoyed this rooftop experience.
Thank you, management team and staff. Continue to be cautious and safe.
Satisfied party of three.
We didn’t eat there, just had a drink. It was very much so overpriced. The view was beautiful though. Service very good.
Excellent experience. Good hangout place. Drinks and food was great.
Great great place for drinks with their food game needs to be improved quite a bit.
Special place for a date 💞 nice service and beautiful view.
Birthday treat, booked well in advance. It also happened to be St Valentine’s Day. The menu offered was extremely limited & very over priced. After checking the menu & the surroundings we left, very disappointed with the whole experience.
Horrible reception at hostess, waiter and waitresses were less than helpful
I loved this place. I will recommend this Rooftop to my friends. The view is perfect.
We had a reservation and arrived to the hotel just to find out the the rooftop lounge was closed. I still received emails and I confirmed I was coming, but at no point did I receive any notice that the rooftop bar was close. It was very unfortunate because we were in town from California and we were really looking forward to experiencing the city at night from a rooftop.
The setting was superb> It was quiet, intimate and cozy. Our server, Teal (?) was delighful. She was both friendly and helpful while maintaining the appropriate professionalism. The food and wine we ordered were delicious. Teal suggested a wine when I noticed my favorite was not offered. It was devine! We especially enjoyed the freshness of the shrimp cocktail and the tender and savory chicken skewers. We will definitely return on our next trip to NYC!
I was looking for a rooftop bar to celebrate my 50th. Castell was a great choice in a city with so many options. The crowd was younger and older, dressy and casual. I had an intimate table for 2 with a nice view of the Empire State Building. The hostess was super friendly and helpful and our server, Larry, was excellent. The food was very good and exactly enough to share. Martinis were perfect and the old fashioneds so good we stayed for an extra drink. Topped it off with chocolate lava cake and champagne. It was a terrific place to celebrate a milestone birthday. Can’t wait to come back in warmer weather and take advantage of the outdoor space.
Not too crowded , even on a pre Xmas night. Very easy going and accessible. Cocktail are impeccable (I liked my dry vodka martini. I would have like a few munchies with my cocktail but apparently iot is not customary. What a pity!
The view is unique and the music is only a tad too noisy.
Service is warm precise and quick.
I reccommend it. Eventually bring your nuts from home.
Great rooftop. Great view. Strong drinks
Amazing view and lovely service! Would definitely recommend!
Was a wonderful rooftop concept. Food was bountiful and was well presented. Love the idea of themes adhering to the seasons. We were there just before Halloween. Drinks were unique and a nice change from the ordinary.
We came here because I had read that you can sit and have drinks while enjoying the view of the Empire State Building. We could see it as we walked in but sitting in view of it was not an option. I would have been happy to pay the higher cost of food/drinks if we had been able to see it without leaving our table and looking through a window. Would not return.
Food and service were exceptional. The view was nice and atmosphere relaxing.
When we arrived for our reservation we were seated right away. However it took 15 minutes for someone to wait on us and the venue hardly had anyone there. At the time of our drink order was taken we were also informed the kitchen was closed. When the drinks were brought we were then told it was last call. The drinks themselves were not that great and over priced for the quantity. The venue has spectacular views which is what you are paying for, not the service or quality. It’s definitely a trade off with this venue.
Nice place, easy access, good service and food. A bit on the expensive side. Not a lot of choices for the beer drinkers. The lobster roll, though expensive was good.
Amazed by the great ambiance and the layout of the rooftop. This is above a hotel and the entrance to the rooftop was unusual. However, all the servers were great and drinks were very good. Definitely recommend this place.
Food is expensive but it’s a very nice, private rooftop. Great drinks and amazing views of the sunset!
We didn’t eat but could make comments without rating food. Assume the food is good for what they offer. A nice place. Quiet and inviting.
It wasn’t as big as it looks in pictures online. We got there earlier then our booking and staff were more then happy to seat us. Waiter was helpful and friendly. Drinks come quickly and food was perfect size.
We visited for cocktails on a weekend at 11pm and found the establishment very full. Thankfully had reservations and had requested outside seating, which made for an amazing atmosphere. Drinks and food are extremely expensive but very tasty. Ambiance is incredible.
Castell Rooftop was a quiet retreat right in the middle of midtown Manhattan. The decor is classy and chic. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was laid back and quiet. We will be visiting again.
It was beautiful and service was great. Cheese and spinach empanadas were everything and the tomato mozzarella sandwiches were also a hit with us. Expensive though..
I recommend a reservation, especially on a Friday evening. The food was very good, but keep in mind, this is not dinner! We were three people and ordered several small plate items and drinks, thinking this would suffice as a meal - it doesn't. However, as a place to start off or end up an evening in the mid-town area, this Rooftop Lounge is quite nice.
We expected the drinks to be pricey, bar bites were just blah. What we didn’t expect was the complete and utter lack of service!!! Do not go, seriously not worth it.
Nice location on 40th street and the views are very nice especially then the sun goes down. I reserved an table vi la OpenTable and good thing I did. The place was crowded but noise level was acceptable. Food was good - did taps style and enjoyed a few different things. Good mix of people from tourists to business people etc. looking forward to going back on another nice evening.
Perfect weather to sit outdoors on their deck, drinks were refreshing and light snacks delish! Perfect for catching up with my bff!
The view was amazing and the drinks were as well.
Service was awful. It was as if the wait staff didn't want to be there. Hostess was very pleasant. Outdoor area fantastic, definitely have to book a table and glad I did, just wish wait staff was more attentive.
Great atmosphere, beautiful view, the city looks amazing at night with the buildings lit up. Great place will definitely go again.
Didn't have food, just drinks but the drinks were phenomenal!
sat outside - comfortable midtown couch lined with a view - food was very good - small plates, expensive, but worth the relaxed seating. Drinks steep, but also good.
Creative and delicious cocktail menu and a friendly & knowledgeable staff.
A little expensive, but the avocado toast was delicious!
Great time here.... took our friends for a night of drink and tapas..... great service..... very friendly
Decent view and nice escape from the chaos that sometimes defines Manhattan. my wife and I enjoyed a couple drinks here. We also had a couple appetizers. If you want hummus, I would not order their hummus. Not sure what came with our vegetables. However, it was not like any hummus that I have ever eaten. I would just come here for drinks, I would avoid the food menu.
