Our food was great, super good, the only thing that didn't do it this time was the waiter, she forgot many things we would ask and brought 2 wrong things in the table, then still forgot to take it out of the check at the end too. We had to remind her couple times of things she forgot to bring out.

Service needs improvement- had to go get our silverware, waiting 30 minutes for a table with reservations, had to ask for water refills and coffee. Refill for coffee never happened, puke of dirty plates left on our table from buffet.
Staff needs training

Sunday Brunch was a belated "Christmas" get together with family. Food was very good, but when our regular server went to break, his replacement was less than satisfactory. 3 of us wanted coffee only 1 cup was brought. Said he would bring the others, plus creamer, but never came back. It was the end of the meal and we decided not to wait for it. Very disappointed with the service this time. Probably will be a while before we dine at the restaurant again.

My first visit a couple years ago for my anniversary was wonderful, expensive but wonderful. This time was a family dinner. The Ahi Tuna Tower was horrible. They didn't have crab cakes anymore :( The waiter took forever to attend us at every turn, the drinks weren't worth the price! Didn't bother with the ridiculous priced entrees but the desserts were delish! You basically pay for the outdoor patio view at night! It's a dream! Make a reservation ahead of time. Not kid friendly. Noisy because of booked party rooms with DJs. Will go again to experience more from the menu in the future once I've refueled my wallet!

We ordered pasta and it was not cooked well and stuck together... worst pasta dish ever eaten in life. The bread was burnt. We were never offered desert. Worst experience for a birthday celebration

Nice ambiance with a great view from up on top of a hill. Food and service were good but on this Saturday night it was full and noisy.

Thanks for ruining my New Years Eve dinner! I want to thank (lots of sarcasm) the chef and staff. When we first sat down we were asked for drinks. We ordered a white and red sangria and was disappointed on the white sangria. It was a mix of the pinnacle and orange juice with a splash of wine. After I asked to return the white sangria the server told us that she “forgot” to tell us that we had a complimentary glass of champagne included with our dinner. So, we now had three drinks on our table.

We received our salad and French onion soup. I told the server if she noticed that the cheese on the soup was not melted….she didn’t. When it was time for our entrée I was disappointed to see the meals (filet mignon and a Portobello Mushroom Ravioli) were “warm”, not hot.
On my second bite into the steak, I had to spit out the bit as it was FROZEN COLD. It seems that they forgot to put the plate a little bit longer in the oven as it was warm on one side and cold as &%*$ on the other side!

I waited a few minutes and when I couldn’t find anyone to talk to I picked up my plate and headed to the serving area and was lucky enough to find the chef. I told him to touch my $60 frozen steak and he apologized and told me how long I had received it. I told him not even 10 minutes ago. He said “sorry” and said he would cook a new one.

Seems they had all the dinners prepared and “ready” to serve ahead of time instead of bothering to serve a nice warm meal. I mean, I’ve never had a cold $1 hamburger at McDonald's! I’ve had other “bad” experiences at Castaways but this will be the last time I spend my money there.

Had my New Year’s Eve dinner here and I was pleasantly surprised with how romantic the setting felt. It was dinner with my girlfriend of 4 years, so of course I was happy about how lovely the inside was. On the other hand, the outside was not as great. We had originally been seated outside, and then later asked to switch to inside because it was too dim outside due to bad lighting. Food was good, but not great, as I would expect from the steep price. My green beans were over cooked and my dates’ meal wasn’t hot when it came out. Overall, I think the place is worth checking out but I’m not sure if NYE would be worth it again.

We went for the Christmas buffet. We arrived for a seating at 3:15. We went to the buffet line and were suprised they were out of turkey, lamb and prime rib. But they assured us more was on the way...it never came btw. The remainder of the buffet was picked over and much of it was cold and over cooked. We were told the last seating was at 4 - I felt sorry for them as their pickings were even more limited by them. The price per person was $50 each. What a TOTAL ripoff. I will never come back...nor should you.

Was there for Christmas Eve dinner for the second year in a row. The view was spectacular. We were promptly seated but not properly greeted. Overall the food was very good, except the prime rib was dry. Also, the service was slow. I waited about 10 minutes for the carver to show up. There were no tamales or salmon this year both of which were very good last year. The table service was also very slow despite the fact the place was not full at all. I was thinking of making this a Christmas Eve tradition with my family. I'll let them decide if we go back.

Worst experience ever! I've been going to The Castaway for decades and would have continued until this last experience. We arrived at 7:30 and didn't get our food until 9:00. All 4 couples were given cold food. We were told they would bring new dishes and we finally got a second plate at almost 10:30. We would have had a few beers to wait but they only had 3 types of beer to offer because we were told they had a party that drank all the beer. They brought our check and when we spoke to the manager about being held hostage for over 3 hours she offered a 10% discount...A 10% DISCOUNT! Our waitress was so embarrassed and was apologizing for the manager. Bottom line...they've lost my business and I can guarantee, the business of the customer I brought to the restaurant as well as any family and friends that I can warn about doing business there. Had a wedding coming up we were going to take to The Castaway and we are taking our business somewhere else.

Beautiful ambiance, food is beautiful and excellent service.

Gorgeous cocktails.

Overpriced for the local community. Only slightly though.

The salt levels in the appetizers and main course needs to be turned down.

A great romantic place for couples.

Its the Holiday Season and they were so short-staffed. Took forever for waitress to take our order. There was only ONE cook for a room full of large groups! The kitchen kept smoking-up so they opened the front door which created a cold draft through the dining area.
Food was not presented well when it arrived AND the baked potato and vegetables were COLD!
We will never come back here again.

Great place. Our night there was very noisy! But, there were four weddings and a party of 18 happy ladies! So understand the noise level.
Service was outstanding!
Food choices limited, but Good very good. Prize Fixe very reasonable.
Will return.

I took my husband out for his birthday. When we ordered out food and wine, the manager had to check on the wine while we waited for our food. She arrived with the wine but the food did not arrive for another half hour or more. We should have left before the food came because it was awful. My husband's prime rib was all fat. They brought him a second one that was also all fat. There was some green vegetable on both our plates that was unrecognizable. It was so over-cooked that it had turned to slime. My meal had sizzling vegetables that were dumped over the top of my steak and baked potato which was also over-cooked and had a burnt flavor. This was the worst food and presentation I have ever experienced.

My husband and I went to Castaway for my birthday brunch. We did arrive early and they were kind enough to seat us shortly after we arrived. We sat outside, as requested, but we were seated at a table in the sun without an umbrella. This would not be a big deal if we were greeted by our server to maybe ask us what we would be having to drink at which time we would have asked permission to roll over an umbrella to block my pale white face from further sun burn. We finally were greeted by a server after I waived at another worker, unsure if he was our server or not.... To make this wait worse was seeing server after server come out multiple times with bottles of champagne hoping its for you and that they are finally helping you but then they continued to fill the glasses of the only other people on the patio. The other people were 2 large groups. We finally just got up and left and stopped at the front desk to pay. We would have loved to sit and sip more champagne but it wasn't worth the wait. The food was, forgettable. That place needs help.

the wait was okay even though we had a reservation. However the food was decent but unfortunately the services was fair. We had to wait some while to get drinks and get our plates removed off the table. I understand that the waiter was super busy and overwhelmed but for you guys not to have enough staff is what caused this inconvenience.

Food was flavorless, service was bad, the food took forever to get to our table, and the waiter wouldn’t check on us. The only good thing was the looks of the restaurant, but I wouldn’t go back.

Fabulous thanksgiving meal. If you want to impress your family on a holiday, bring them to the Castaways. We had vegans and Asian lovers, breakfast lovers, crab, turkey you name it. All very very good. Every one happy! Bring the kids. They are a very efficient business and handle crowds smoothly. Excellent service! You can tell they have been in business a long time. Flawless staff!

I liked the comfortable dinning in this place nice view and everything but the quality of the food was very poor! I ordered a new York steak meal took over a hour to get the food and once I got the food I had to ask the waiter is this the new York steak?! It was like a regular piece of meat you buy at the super market all fatty around. I've been to other restaurants and ordered the same platter and what a difference in quality just by looking at the steak you can tell it's actually a NEW YORK STEAK. I was very disappointed but I don't like arguing so I just left it like that and ate what I could. So I don't think I will end up going here again and wouldn't recommend it.
